The service was good, the food was good. Did not WOW me. My biggest issue was two things we ordered an appetizer at brunch it was the avocado toast and then ordered our entrées. The avocado toast came out with our entrées which we had to wait quite some time for and there was only a few tables. The avocado toast definitely was not worth the cost they put maybe a tablespoon of avocado on each one of the pieces of toast. Unlike many places I go to have avocado toast which piles it on. So because the appetizer came out with our meals we had to decide which one to eat and which one to let get cold.
Salt is the main ingredient for every dish we tried.
Love brunch here. Every Sunday! Good food and great service.
Server was a blast…food was awesome!
It was a date night for me, my hubby, and another couple. Initially we had reservations at another restaurant uptown. Upon our arrival at the other restaurant, we encountered a couple who was leaving the establishment. My husband struck up a conversation with them and asked how was their experience, followed by asking their opinion on the food. Their response concluded with them saying that the restaurant is an “experience” with no great reviews on the food. That left us uneasy so after our dinner companions arrived we collectively decided we needed another dining option. I found 204 North Kitchen & Cocktails on Yelp and after a brief discussion, we decided to give it a try. Best decision as they did not disappoint! Everyone was more than happy with their food choices and the waitress(Tatum) was awesome! While everything was good (we sampled each other’s foods), the clear standouts for me were the roasted chicken with truffle sauce and the red potatoes with garlic and rosemary! We will definitely be back!
My husband decided to take me on a brunch date and this was an excellent choice. They have amazing craft cocktails that are A+. I can’t remember our servers name but she was super nice and attentive. Here is a picture of the Impresso Martini, they do not skimp on the alcohol and it was amazing!!
The open table menu is outdated and was completely different. Service wasn’t great. Food was ok, but ran out of items after we ordered.
Nice little place for drinks but the food is a bit pricey. I’m a steak lover and was not happy with the quality of the food for the price.
It was my first time there and everything was great. Very comfortable dining experience. Friendly staff and the manager walked the floor making sure everyone was satisfied. Loved the facility.
The pork chop is one of the best things I've ever eaten! All of the food was great and the staff couldn't have been better.
Loved the food and service. We are now looking forward to our next visit
The service and food for our group was excellent. The waitress did a great job of going over some brunch options and when the food came out it was hot, fresh, and very tasty. The cocktail I ordered - the Amazing Grace, was on point. This was our first time at North Kitchen and it won’t be our last!
Food was terrible. Rubber hot chicken on a cheap store bought bun. The avocado toast was bread with the thinnest of thin layer of seemly store bought prepared spread. Subway would be better.
We got an omelette and the eggs weren’t even cooked. The portions were extremely small for the money spent. We will definitely not be going back there. If you are looking for a good spot for brunch, make sure this is the last place in your list.
We were seated in the bar area even though the place was empty and I made a "standard" reservation. We started with yummy cocktails, although wait staff seemed impatient, but attentive. The food was delicious. I might have given it a higher score except the "beet salad" was not as described. It was a nice green salad, but hardly any beets or citrus sections as listed on the menu. Great location for pre-show dinner and drinks.
Not impressed by the Lamb Meatballs served in a very ordinary tasting tomato sauce. The beet salad had more greens than other ingredients and it should have been served warm (my suggestion).
Nice dinner and friendly staff.
Three of us ordered the fish which was deep fried but raw inside. The fourth person in our party ordered the pork chop which was so tough she could hardly cut it. The food was disappointing.
I would not eat here again. Apparently they have just revamped their menu and our server was unfamiliar with how to explain it to us. We ordered pork chop and fried cod, along with one side each. The (giant) sides came out way ahead of the entree, and it was only as they were brought to the table that we were told the meal was “family style” and family-sized portions would be brought out as they were ready. If we had known that we would not have ordered two sides. Service was slow, so it was difficult not to fill up on sides while waiting for our entrees. When entrees came out, the pork chop was ok—not great and slightly over cooked. The cod, however, was awful. It had a fishy smell and a very chemical taste to it. My partner couldn’t eat it, sent it back, and then had to wait an incredibly long time to get her second entree. By the time it was brought out she was no longer hungry and didn’t eat much of it. It was better than the cod, though again not outstanding. They did end up comping both her entrees which was appreciated. The only redeeming factor was the cocktails, which were good.
Enjoyed the experience! Great prices! Will be back!
Had a great time. Everyone was so kind and our waitress, MJ was fabulous! Will definitely go back again!
Great food drinks and ambiance
First time here for dinner. Restaurant has a great vibe and was off to a promising start. However, major negative here was the way they handled the food outages on the menu. For instance, they were out of oysters (which was the feature on the deviled eggs). Okay, we get it, sometimes you run out. They still offered the deviled eggs (and I was interested in them), so I asked about the price, assuming they would not still be $13. WRONG! Apparently the new rule is: serve half the dish, but pay full price.
So on that alone, would never go back. If management was different, perhaps would be worth a second chance. Otherwise, better to stick to places like Link and Pen that have both good food and good service.
Tables are a little close.
Amazing brunch! I had the chicken and waffles and my gf ordered the vanilla French toast— both were full of flavor and very tasty. Our server was prompt, attentive and very sweet. Definitely recommend!
Food was awesome! Atmosphere amazing! And our server Tatumn was absolutely the best!!! This was our 1st visit here but I will definitely be back!
We loved it!
We dined during early Thursday dinner with Tatum as our server. She was fantastic! Very friendly and efficient without being bothersome. We had the Ahi Tuna (bright and refreshing), meat/cheese board, bone-in porkchop (great seasoning/flavor), bolognese (comfort food!), and both desserts (light but delicious). Would definitely come back.
Asked for a med rare Cheeseburger..
..came out well done
My daughter and I recently spent a fun weekend in Charlotte together. On Saturday evening we dined at 204 North. It was a great experience overall. Food was delicious, the vibe was extremely comfortable, our server, Gabriela, was very personable and knowledgeable. She truly helped make our experience wonderful with her food recommendations and friendliness. We already plan to return on our next trip to Charlotte!
This was our first visit and we had a very nice experience. The food and the service were both quite good.
Thw ambience and staff were friendly. The food was subpar. The chicken and waffles is plated well but the waffle was cold, and the chicken was a frozen, thinly sliced breast, that looked like it was previously freezer burned and it was also cold. Grits needed flavoring. My friend ordered the omelet and it was hard and needed to bw sliced with the knife. You couldn't cut through it with just the fork. My other friend had the french toast and was pleased. Overall, I wouldn't recommend and likely wouldnt return except for cocktails.
Nice place, great cocktails, amazing service
Great Food! Awesome Cocktails, Ambiance and service.
Really enjoyed our time at 204 North. We went for brunch and had great food and even better service!
Great food and service. QUEEN MJ was wonderful. Took good care of us.
Dimly lit inside...
It was not good. The waitress was outstanding, but the food was sub-par. I could recreate every meal at home and do much better. Disappointed..too many better restaurants in Charlotte to eat there again.
The waitress that we had was not very engaging - the food was only decent for the price - wouldn't recommend for brunch due to a limited menu but might go back for happy hour.
