Extremely poor food. Cold starters and overcooked steak.
Due to covid they had a restricted menu, which we knew about, but it was VERY restricted - just 4 dishes for each course to choose from.
The staff were lovely and everything was done nicely and safely, but the food was very poor. I had fish of the day which was drowning in butter. The chef kindly made by friend a gluten free veggie dish, but it was just a couple of mushrooms and tomatoes.
The food is below average and really over priced.
Food was good (except for the chips that where undercooked). But with a limited menu you would expect good food.
Service was very slow. We waited 20 mins for a jug of water, further 15 for a gin & tonic and a pint of lager then had to ask for the bill 3 times and since it's a case you have more staff and less tables this is totally unacceptable.
The fact the hand sanitizer smelt of tequila was just laughed off also but a damper on the night.
I was really looking forward to this night. It's a shame the night was so mediocre
Fabulous view across the city, stylish decor and of course superbe food. Excellent service and knowledgeable sommelier. It's expensive, but worth it!
Great food, great view even better staff!!
Very impressed with the view and the overall ambiance of the restaurant. The food was 7 out of 10 if I compare it to similar priced restaurants.
service was very slow which sadly spoilt what would have been a very good evening.
Food is not that good compared to how expensive it is. View is amazing and the restaurant itself looks really good, however the food choice was very limited (about 3 options for main course).
We had a table booked for 20:15 and when we arrived the front of house told us to get a drink at the bar as our table wasn’t ready. There was no apology and no excepted time for the wait or that they would come and get us when it was ready. They didn’t seem very apologetic. We eventually got to the front of the bar which was extremely busy and went to wait back by the reception where we waited until 20:45 to be seated. When we were seated we were offered a drink and asked to order food but told the waiter only took the drink orders. We waited until 21:15 before I went back to reception to complain about the fact nobody approached us to take our order and our booking was an hour ago. I asked to speak to the manager and was told they would go and get them but I was faced with 3 different people who said they would take my order it didn’t appear that a manager was on shift on a Saturday night. When I sat down they came and took our order, I was told I could not have sirloin they had none left and also had to check they had ribeye so in the end I chose that. Another disappointment. We were offered complimentary bread and olives while we waited.... 22:00 before our food came. With two of us having ribeye we both had to ask for 3 knives as they were not serrated knives and both went through 3 knives because we received a blunt knives each time. My friends ribeye was lovely but unfortunately mine was mostly fat and I fought with my dinner trying to find pieces I could eat. Our one friend had macaroni cheese which was nice and we all had chips. When asked how our dinner was unfortunately it was a negative review and the waitress who presented herself now as the manager proceeded to tell me it was because I had it cooked rare and walked off from the table without excusing herself or explaining where she was going. We had noticed another couple also seated late were complaining. The lady came back an had taken the steak off the bill. DISAPPOINTING.
Lovely food and great service. Food is quite pricey if you are going for. Steam.
Went for Birthday treat. Service from Lisa was excellent. Also the Rumanian Sommelier who was very knowledgable. Ordered Goosnargh Chicken for two persons which was delicious. Overall an excellent experience but at a price.
Very nice for an indulgent treat - but a kick in the wallet!
Nice view with lovely food and service. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
The staff could not have been more helpful. Came for Afternoon Tea and when I stated I had a Gluten Allergy the kitchen went to the bother of making GF Scones fresh to come with the GF Sandwiches and cakes. The waitress took time to talk through everything to confirm what was suitable and overall couldn’t have been more attentive.
Amazing restaurant would recommend to anyone in Manchester
Rude & poor service from waiters, ruined a special occasion. Rude waiter forgot to return change therefore sat waiter for 20 minutes & when asked she started laughing
Excellent food & service!
Fantastic ambience and everyone was so polite and friendly. Even the security on the way in! Food was great just a tad expensive on the drinks but to be expected. Great views over MCR 👌🏼
You are made to feel really welcome from the moment you walk in, we had great table by the window looking across Manchester. The staff were very attentive without being in your face all the time. The food was excellent, we ate from the 3 course lunch menu and the food was superbly presented and great value for money. We will be back!
Lovely food abit pricing but worth the cost.
Great stuff very helpful.
Big range of drinks.
Great service, lovely food, stunning views, perfect evening.
Been many times over the years. Great place for cocktails but overpricing themselves on food lately and quality has declined
Arrived at 9:10, we’re eventually sat down after 35 minutes under a different name
As our table and my name was used for some random chap infront of us
Food and service at the table was excellent
The food was incredible and the view we had from our table was spectacular.
The only thing that I’d say is that the service definitely needs work. When I’m spending that much eating out I do expect better service than what I received.
Getting drinks was a bit of a task and when I finally got the waiters attention (not our personal waiter, another waiter) he got the order wrong and only bought one drink out?
Exceptional Waiting staff. Beautiful food and views. A perfect venue for a nice lunch.
Mussel is really tasty, staff are nice, got really good deal as well! Nice place, will go there again
Our first time and it won't be our last it was Sensational
Gorgeous restaurant with an amazing vibe and views, the menu choices are very limited which was the biggest disappointment, many dishes could only be shared if two people wanted the same dish limiting it even further. Service was attentive and fab, I would go back for drinks in a heartbeat but wouldn’t eat there again, I chose a dish out of necessity rather than really wanting that choice.
A wonderful experience. We will be back. Thank you.
Guinea Fowl arrived partially cooked, red with blood. Had to wait to be replaced, companion had to eat their meal alone, as did I when the replacement arrived. Still charged service charge. The place has lost its edge, the Ivy is so much better
Best Sunday lunch I have ever had! Perfect! My new favourite restaurant in Manchester!
Mixed bag really the ambiance was lovely and our waiter was really nice. I found the food slightly lacking my partner had scallops they were cold and the rest of the starter was hot and found it under seasoned also I had steak tartare for mine and found that under seasoned. He had lamb for the main the pie was lovely again found the meat under seasoned and had bones in my turbot was slightly over cooked and the potatoes some where hard and soft also my partner got chip for sides they weren't great I didn’t complain as where we was sat close to other diners and didn’t want to make a scene and our waiter was so nice. Also what I do want to complain about the dress code states smart I saw a guy in a rac work jacket and a lad in hoodie I thought I was meant to be high end so that brought it down abit. Also don’t get the house old fashioned just a sugary mix not nice and don’t order off menu asked for a bramble didn’t think there was any alcohol init just tasted like lemon juice.
The experience was OK overall.
We were greeted on the door by a lovely lady. The bar man that served us was also in good spirits and was friendly.
Only when being sat did it take a turn. Being vegetarian I had looked at the menu ahead of time on the website, and with only 2 options on the menu I had my heart set on one. I was given a different menu to the a la Carte menu shown on the website and the dish I had hoped for (risotto) no longer on there. Being vegetarian I had only one option left, which was disappointing. I asked if they could still do the risotto as I didn’t anticipate the change of menu, and was told no that it’s only on the set menu.
I thought I had been an idiot and looked at the wrong menu previously, I loaded up the menu again on the site and once more the risotto was still there.
I then awkwardly had to ask again if there was any chance given the misleading information they could make an exception, as to have your dinner chosen on your behalf on a special day is not ideal.
We were told the menu is “subject to change” (something not stated on the menu online), but that she would ask. Granted, they did make the risotto and it was lovely. My partner had the duck which he enjoyed. It was a shame that we had to get to the point of almost leaving to go somewhere with a wider menu choice before our request was rectified. Online menus should be kept up to date IMO.
Service was OK. We were asked if we were celebrating to which we told the server yes, but this seemed fruitless as there was no special attention made on the back of this fact. We anticipated maybe she was enquiring to bring a celebratory drink, alas, no. It then seemed clear it was only small talk as to make the request for a “5 start trip advisor review to get a £30 cash incentive” at the end a little easier.
Working in the industry, I found the asking of feedback for merely financial gain quite distasteful, and would have preferred to have not been aware of the fact.
Lovely restaurant, good food but overpriced compared to similar quality restaurants in Manchester.
Fabulous food , great service and fantastic views over Manchester skyline
Had to wait 45 minutes to order a drink. The food came and it was sub-par.
Couldn't be happier with the service, a really top job for such a busy restaurant. Great food, I found it a little more expensive than it should have been but overall my experience was fantastic.
Food was good but overpriced. Service was v slow .
Disappointed overall, steaks were amazing but all the sides were a bit of a let down. Won't be back and wouldny recommend.
