2 West at The Wagner Hotel
Just a weekend getaway for me and my husband. Hotel was perfectly located. And 2 West was excellent! Food was very good quality and taste was spot on. I had the best Caesar salad ever and the most delicious swordfish!!! What will keep me coming back was not just the food though, it was the bar and the bartender Kevin Carrigan. His personality was addicting, his drinks were superb, and he was the most personable guy you ever want to meet. I didn’t want to leave the bar at night because of him!!! My husband and I will def be back just for this restaurant. First time there it not the last!!! We love Kevin!
Average at best.
My office is a 5 minute walk and I have been eating here since our office moved downtown. The service is excellent and it is a great place where you can actually hear the person that you are having lunch with. The food is excellent and they have a menu which covers all the bases. When I have worked on a weekend I have come for the brunch and they have the greatest French toast.
We had lunch during NY Restaurant Week, so the value was great! A three course lunch was delicious! Cucumber and melon salad with feta and pistachios as an appetizer was wonderful, as was the flatbread. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Cobb salad was fresh and chock full of blue cheese. Dessert was a key lime pie in a jar, which was outrageous!
the place is in a hotel and easy for people around better park
Personal polite service
Everything was excellent except no open menu is available during Sunday brunch. Very disappointing if you only want one item and no drinks. Finally had to complain to mgmt that this was not highlighted in open table reservation to order less than full brunch but we were finally accommodated.
Easter Sunday- wonderful!
it is not above the average level, not deserve at all.
Delicious amazing food, kind and efficient service, spacious and quiet room with big windows and comfortable chairs. Definitely one of the best dinners I've had in NYC.
Good service, nice cocktails, and good food. I went for restaurant week, and will definitely go back.
Great Restaurant Week menu and the live music that they had the night we were there was a very nice touch. Terrific atmosphere.
No consideration for handicapped people
My friend and I visited for Restaurant Week. We were staying in the area. The food was absolutely excellent in it's presentation and mixture of flavors and textures. Service was excellent as well. Hat's off to our server Ricardo. He ensured we had a very pleasant experience. We plan to revisit to explore the menu, wines, and ambiance. Thank you for making it a great birthday.
The service was excellent, the food never disappoints and it was very good again this time. However, the coffee was horrible. My guest for breakfast and I are involved in the coffee business and neither one of us could drink it. Get a new
Supplier! So disappointing! We stuck to the
Orange juice instead!
It was New Years Eve, and we had a late seating.
The waiter rushed us to order (kitchen was closing, he said). He rushed and knocked over a glass of water on our table (ok, a mistake). But then he disappeared for long periods and the food took forever to arrive (luckily we weren't in a rush). Also luckily, the scallops were tasty.
But, its only worth going here if you're staying in the hotel...
The service was terrible. We ordered toast with our breakfast which they forgot but when they remembered they brought it after the meal was over. It took forever to get the food. The waiter seemed like he could care less. On top of it all, breakfast was over $40.00 per person. Worst food value I have ever seen.
I have been going to 2 West for well over a decade, when it was the Ritz Carlton. I have had an engagement party, two baby showers, numerous dinners, brunches and other events at 2 West. When I lived in the neighborhood, we were at 2 West several times a week. Even after we moved from neighborhood, we continue to come to 2 West for one reason - several excellent staff members to whom we have become close. We have continued to patronize 2 West after the take over by the Wagner, despite some disappointments, because of our favorite staff.
If Adriano is preparing the food and Jennifer Guerrero is serving, we are guaranteed an excellent meal and a good time. They have taken the time to note and respond to our requests and likes. They always take great care to ensure that our meal is prepared as we like it and we very much appreciate it. Jennifer is absolutely the BEST! She anticipates her customers' needs and is a great liaison with the kitchen. Her pleasant and pleasing disposition make a good meal great. I always call before going to ensure that Jennifer of one of the other reliable servers (Ricardo) is working. If not, we go elsewhere.
Great choice for a good meal in an elegant yet comfortable environment with a friendly staff.
A little hidden though in the back of the Wagner Hotel but worth finding.
The food was okay to mediocre. Food and wine quite expensive for what we got. Servers were very nice.
Only went because the Museum of Jewish Heritage is right across the street.
Excellent brunch and SO conveniently located across the street from the Folksbeine Yiddish Theatre.
We normally don’t dine in hotel restaurants and don’t have great expectations for a good meal. Our dinner at this restaurant in the Wagner Hotel however exceeded what we would expect. The 3-course Restaurant Week Menu, although limited, was carefully designed for diners. The spicy tuna tartare was not available, but the shrimp/lobster salad was a wonderful substitute. The portions of my husband’s herb roasted chicken “under a brick” and my tagliatelle pasta with wild mushrooms and duck confit were quite substantial so we had to “doggy bag” half of the plates to make room for dessert. And we were happy to enjoy the “coconut in a jar” and “NY’s greatest cheesecake”. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. It was a fine dining experience!
I love the French onion soup and scallops. However, the coconut dessert wasn't my favorite.
Excellent scallops appetizer and great lobster cavatelli entree. Very friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.
Worth finding - it’s a bit hidden within the hotel.
Wonderful staff and solid food
Very enjoyable. We enjoyed the food, service and particularly the music!
Not ritz Carlton anymore
Dead and too many bugs flying around
Food was ok not stellar
Great food and our servers Flora and Miguel were terrific
Great food, our servers (Wendy and Flora) were terrific.
Nice (albeit expensive) breakfast. Only issue with the menu was that the yogurt/fruit/banana bread item on the menu had a overabundance of fruit and the smallest piece of banana bread we have every seen.
So far, same excellent staff in the restaurant as before the hotel converted from a Ritz Carlton to the Wagner Hotel. Tino who was our server tonight was terrific as well as Miguel who assisted him. Had a wonderful dinner including the French Onion Soup to start and excellent Steak Fries as a side dish to complement our solid entrees.
Great food - excellent scallop appetizer and cavatelli entree. Our servers Tino and Wendy were terrific.
Great food and great staff - hope they keep the restaurant the same under the new hotel.
Solid choice for a nice restaurant in the neighborhood. The team of servers (Tino, Wendy, Rocco and Mustak) are extremely friendly and helpful.
Great spot for lunch - it is usually nearly empty so you get lots (but not too much) of attention in a lovely, serene setting. Definitely sit on the lower level. Great food and service. Expensive but not outrageous.
Always pleasant, go to place. A bit on the expensive side compared to surrounding restaurants but consistently great food. Wine list small but well done.
We had a business appointment downtown and decided to try 2West because we’ve had fine meals at Ritz Carlton hotels in other cities. We were not disappointed. Our lunch was very good; the plate presentations were attractive, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. A broiled salmon was served with a really tasty beure blanc sauce, and there were other details that enhanced the lunch. One of us ordered the NYC Restaurant Week Lunch, which was a real bargain. One of the desserts was a sticky pudding served with vanilla ice cream. I’ve never before had this dessert in a restaurant outside of England. Very good.
Excellent as always
