Our party of 5 came to 1Kept for brunch on mother's day. The restaurant was at about 50% capacity. We were seated and the waiter promptly took our drink orders, and also ordered an appetizer. About 20 minutes passed before the drinks arrived and he took our entree orders.
After 45 minutes passed from ordering the appetizer, we notified the waiter. 10 minutes later, the bacon beignets arrived. They were good.
About 20 minutes later, the waiter returned and said our entrees (mostly egg-based, so easy to make) would be ready soon. At this point, a person in our party ordered a beer.
About 15 minutes later, the first entree arrived. Three more arrived 5 minutes later. It took about 15 more minutes for the last entree (an omelette) to arrive. No explanation was given for the long delays.
Food was good, servers were friendly, delay was awful and ruined the experience. Oh, and the beer never came.
Our server (Linden?) was a delight. The food was hot and fresh. We’ll definitely be back for brunch and will try the dinner menu as well.
We came in for a quick bite before a show.. The octopus and fried okra were delicious! Best fried okra in Atlanta! Entire staff and owner take genuine pride in their food, drink and atmosphere.
We will definitely return!
Great service and delicious food! Can’t wait to go back
Had one of the most amazing meals here. Sat at the bar since it was just two of us girls. Started with Brussels sprouts and a caesar salad. Both were amazing. Possibly the best Caesar salad we have ever had. We then chose the pork ragu and the short ribs. Wouldn’t change a single thing about either one. To die for. We were then treated to a trifecta of deserts. The banana pudding was by far the best. Something I wouldn’t typically order but such a treat. It was such a wonderful experience on top of the food being the best we have had possibly ever. We had amazing service, engaging conversations with the bartender/owner and treated like family. Could easily become regulars here!
It was quaint and nice. The server was awesome. Very social, and explained everything very well. We shared our plates and loved it! The Cheese board is delicious!!!
First off, the food was amazing. Started with a split mixed greens salad with strawberries, feta, fennel, almonds and strawberry vinaigrette. Nice size, great combination of flavors, very fresh. Entrees were incredible. Wife had the streak frites, which she loved. I had the wagyu beef burger, which was probably the best burger I've had in awhile. They also have a good selection of wine and beer.
A few negatives: it was pretty empty in the restaurant on a Saturday night. Seemed a bit strange for a hip place near downtown. Also you have to park in the back and walk up a flight of stairs to get to the restaurant. There seemed to be no handicap access. It's just in a weird location, but other than that it was a good experience
hard to find from street....have to climb lots of stairs...... bathroom down long flight of stairs......not really worth it...food was good and service was great....but would not recommend ……..other resturants easier to deal with.....
Very confused about the food service. We waited a very long time for our food. Our server was great and explained that some large tables were served first even though our orders were placed first?????
Our reservation was for Father's Day brunch. The air conditioning was obviously not working properly because the restaurant was hot. Fans were sitting around but that didn't help much. It took 30 minutes for us to get our drinks. One of the dad's food order came out wrong and we had to wait for that to be corrected. Service in general was very slow. We asked for a high chair and they don't have such. I would not recommend 1kept at all.
1Kept was definitely a pleasant experience and the food was delicious. See the full review here: https://bit.ly/2luKzBf
Amazing! Staff are so helpful and the food is AMAZING!!! Definitely a must in Midtown/Buckhead area!!
Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection
Restaurant was good. Little noisy and A/C was not working properly. The service was great and the food I would rate 4 out of 5.
Great spot. Parking around back is a little challenging. Food was great and the service was exceptional.
Love this place. Wonderful staff. Beautiful place. Great menu. The shrimp appetizer is perfect- huge shrimp with tons of amazing flavors incl onion jalapeño and something wonderfully pickled. The steak frites is my regular addictive choice but I love everything on the menu including the pork ragu, chicken schnitzel, salmon, a great burger.
Food and service were excellent! The space was a bit warm and loud, but we enjoyed our birthday celebration!
Nita welcomed us nicely, showed us to a table, gave us menus, and unrushed, good service. My duck confit was better than it is at more expensive restaurants; my wife thought the salt and pepper shrimp was outstanding.
It was a great experience when we walked through to our drinks then to our meal. Will recommend.
Always a great night when dinner is it 1Kept! Great food. Great people. Great place. Truffle popcorn, scallops, and schitzel are musts!
The food was absolutely delicious, do not miss this restaurant! Since the person who answered the phone wasn’t friendly when we called to ask about location and parking, we almost decided to go somewhere else. However, the server who greeted us at the door and was our waiter was very friendly and gave us his opinion on menu favorites. After we had enjoyed dinner, we also tried the desserts, which were equally delicious. The whole family agreed they hadn't had such good food before, and we loved that it was a farm to table restaurant!
Dinner. Was. Amazing.
The Pimento Cheese, the Brussel Sprouts, the Steak Frites - all totally delicious. The server was knowledgeable, delightful and had perfect timing. Everything was fantastic!
Cannot express enough how AMAZING this experience was! From our dinner to cocktails to server to manger KATE, we had an above and beyond fabulous experience. The food is mouth watering delicious but the way we were treated by the manager KATE is what truly set them apart. It is rare that people like her still exist. So impressed with her knowledge and dedication to our experience. I booked by company party here as well and will recommend 1KEPT to everyone I know. Thank you for the great experience. We will be back this weekend!
So nice to find a restaurant where you don’t have to shout across the table to be heard. It was slightly noisy, but super calm compared to most restaurants in Atlanta. The food was absolutely delicious, but their kitchen timing was surprisingly slow. This place is a hidden gem to which I will most definitely return.
The best!!! From scratch kitchen. I love the pimento cheese board!!!!
Excellent food and service!!! The owner is amazing and extremely personable on top of making great special drinks.
The overall dining experience was very good. The food is the star of the show here. My wife and I had the black truffle popcorn as a starter. I ordered the pork and pasta at the servers recommendation. My wife had the wild mushroom fettuccine with cream sauce. The server was very attentive. The chef also came to our table to check on our dinning experience and offered some helpful cooking tips on adding spice to dishes. The restaurant was a bit darker than most so reading the menu may be challenging for some. On the side of things that could be improved, my wife witnessed a disagreement between the servers on who would be responsible for one of the large group tables that was being seated. That should not be part of our dining experience. As for what I was very pleased with, our server took great care of the cellphone that I left at the table until I returned to get it the next day. Thanks!
Upon entering, I was immediately excited because the ambiance was exactly what I was hoping for. The hostess was very sweet and welcoming. I waited at the bar until the rest of my party arrived. The bartender was friendly and offered her input on a drink I inquired of. I sipped my drink while waiting for my party. The restaurant is very dark (in a good way), it's actually really pretty, the dark wood floors and walls, with nice lighting, it's very cute. Once my party arrived, they grabbed a drink at the bar and then we were seated. Our server came over and introduced herself and then proceeded to tell us how it was going to go, "I'm going to take drink orders, then I'll come back for appetizers and we'll go from there". This was ok to some degree but actually, we had been seated for a while (with drinks from the bar) so we actually wanted to order appetizers once she made her way over to us. And let me add that we had one sober person in our party so she really wanted to go ahead and order apps. But our server wouldn't allow us to do so. Eventually, we ordered apps and they came out ok, the octopus was very flavorful (rather salty and really tough), the Brussel sprouts were just ok, the salads were good. Our main courses came out, I had the wayburger, it was delicious! Others got the shrimp and grits and they seemed to enjoy it fine enough, one girl got the salmon and she cleaned the plate so I believe it was to her liking. :) Our server kept coming over to check on us but didn't seem to be too aware of timing or how brusque she was coming off, which was interruptive at times but overall, she was ok. I would've advised her to check the temp of the table before coming over like "HOW'S EVERYTHING OVER HERE?!!!", we were like ok calm down, we're kind of in the middle of a sensitive conversation right now but ok. Anyway, all in all, it's a cute place, the food is ok, the service was steady and that's it. I may or may not go back, I'm not really sure.
Great place to just hang out! The food was great and the service was top notch.
Our dinner was not a pleasant experience. The restaurant is very dark--not just ambience-creating dark, but so dark it was difficult to read the menu and see the food. As we entered, we were hit by a blast of loud "music", making conversation uncomfortable. The servers were very friendly, but the service was unusually slow, both for drinks and for food. And the food--I like salt, but both of our entrees (Springer Mt chicken and pork tenderloin) were far too salty; it was hard to enjoy the food--all we could taste was salt. I've been to 1kept before and liked it; I don't think I will return.
The food was fabulous and we loved the atmosphere!
Octopus over cooked. Burger good. Cool place, great menu, food ok.
Good experience, great place and the food was awesome!
Lovely space but not wheelchair friendly if that matters. Shrimp appetizer is decent if you remember to add the garnish. My chicken and spaetzle was dry and boring. The urge to clear plates was exceeded only by my desire to see them gone.
Excellent waitress. Very genuine and attentive.
We took some neighbors to 1 Kept for their first visit, and we all had a great time. The food was delicious and we had a very efficient server. Our only complaint was the noise level, which was quite high (but it was also prime time on a Saturday night, so....). Still, something to reduce the decibel level would make it more inviting.
Excellent everything!! Loved our waitress - she was informative and helpful while still being really chill and friendly. Food was so delicious
The enthusiasm and caring of our waitress Kat and the rest of the staff kept the night fun and smoothed out a couple of bumps. When my husband thought too many of our clams and mussels didn't open, the chef immediately started a fresh order. (Very delicious dish!) Another staff member (great lady, but didn't get her name!) thought the food was taking too long and brought us some truffle popcorn to tide us over. Kat tried to make a martini when the bartender had stepped out. (A for effort but we are pretty picky martini drinkers!) I have been here before when everything ran super smoothly and I think our 10:00 reservation was at the end of the night and after some big parties had left. We will be back! Thank you for a fun night.
Service was great and food was tasty as usual. This night was a date night with friends complete with baby sitters for the kidos. However, this time was a bit odd as we were asked after dinner and a $200 check if we wouldn’t mind giving up our table for waiting guests. The only thing that was disappointing is the lounge did not have sufficient seating and we didn’t see anyone waiting for a table. There were also three empty tables. So we dropped our wine glasses at the bar and left for the night. Watch out for the offer to add more of the awesome grilled bread to the table. It’s $4 for two slices.
