Excellent service and ambiance, yes!!! However the food and value leaves ALOT to be desired. Had a reservation for Valentine’s Day, but needed to change the time last minute. Had a little trouble modifying our reservation with the hostess over the phone (understandably so... it was Valentine’s), but we decided to go anyway and risk it. When we arrived about 15 minutes later, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all... which left me confused about why she gave me such a problem over the phone.
Anyway as mentioned, the service was stellar and the ambiance was nice for the occasion. However, the food and the value... 100% BELOW AVERAGE!!! I ordered a few drinks, an appetizer and the scallops for the entree. The drinks were good, but overpriced. My appetizer NEVER showed up. And I paid $30 bucks for literally 3 scallops, which included two pieces of cauliflower and elegantly scattered lettuce as the side. A complete and utter RIP OFF! This WAS NOT a meal. I am all of 130lbs, but I was starving when I left. And these restaurants wonder why they struggle with finding loyal customers. Like, cut the BS and feed your customers!? Meal was PATHETIC.
Bottom line, nothing was great enough for me to want to go back and I would only recommend 1Kept to someone I didn’t like.
Great restaurant, the pimento cheese app is wonderful, great menu variety. They need to work on their service a bit as we got there a bit early for our reservation and they said they couldn't seat us as our table wasn't ready even though there were only 3 tables being used in the whole restaurant. An explanation would have been nice. We did get seated and everything was great from there on. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good meal at moderate prices.
Probably one of the best dining experiences I’ve had, from start to finish. Our server, Miranda provided excellent recommendations an exceptional service.
The Pork Belly was amazing, cooked to perfection. The grill oyster literally made me moan out loud. I’m not sure what they put on the top of them but the there were layers of flavor. The scallop entree will bring me back over and over again.
Though married, we have a "date night" every now and then, dinner and a concert or other performance. We like a place where we can talk and have good food and wine with imagination but not too many odd things to eat, and 1 Kept is delightful. Noise level somewhere between quiet and moderate. Music is just right, not loud or annoying.
Nice atmosphere. Nice variety of cocktails. Our services came often - however it took over 30 minutes for our food to come out. I was okay but my guest was highly agitated by this and asked the server several times when the food would come. No manager came over to apologize.
I was greatly disappointed in both the food and service at 1Kept. The restaurant was a favorite and always outstanding in the past. The food was not properly prepared with some items coming out of the kitchen ice cold while others were steaming hot. Adding insult to injury was the poor service. Not only was the server horrible, but the hostess asked us to finish up dessert because she needed the table. Seriously? We weren’t lingering—but when apps and entrees are sent back and redone, dinner runs longer than anyone would like. My understanding is that they have had turnover in both kitchen staff and servers. God speed in getting everyone either trained or your closing! Worst dining experience I’ve had in 15 years!
Our server at first I wasn't sure about because it was busy but as time went on she was great! They normally don't make expresso martinis (because it is a time consuming cocktail for bartenders) but our server was able to get the bartender to make them especially for us at least for one round. It was also my birthday and they gave me a complementary Champagne and dessert at the end of the dinner. Much appreciate the hospitality.
I was disappointed to try the food after all the reviews I had read. Whole Branzino was fried and served on unseasoned rice, Mushroom & cheese flatbread that you can find at a regular bakery, only the salt & pepper shrimp was decent. The toffee cake dessert was simply awful.
We enjoyed the atmosphere and agreed it was a great place to come for cocktails, but we did not enjoy the food. Our service was not good - we had all planned to order a second cocktail but the service was so slow that by the time our waitress finally came back to check on us, we decided to get our checks instead. I would recommend this as a fun place to come for happy hour and maybe an appetizer, but I wouldn't recommend it for dinner.
The bar is the centerpiece of the restaurant. A patron was at the bar watching a football game and was cheering VERY loudly!!! It disturbed the rest of the diners trying to enjoy nice dinners. Management should have stepped in to quiet the loud patron. The food was delicious. Loved the farm to table focus. Waitstaff was great!
This was my 5th visit. We sat at the bar. Chris is very attentive and happy to offer suggestions. Started with the Margherita Flat Bread. So tasty! I had the Chicken Schnitzel for my entree. There was so much Chicken you could easily split and it was delicious. This is a keeper. Finished with dessert. Every Entree I have had here is worth every bite. From the Scallops, Steak, Fettuccine or Salmon you will not be disappointed. If you are with a group my personal favorite for the starter would be the Hogs of War Flatbread. This restaurant is a diamond in the rough. The location is kind of tricky. Just off Peachtree and in the back. It is worth the visit and very easy on your wallet for the entrees. This is now my favorite local restaurant as I live in the area.
1 Kept never disappoints. This was our third year dining at this restaurant for Christmas Eve and it has become a wonderful tradition. The food was amazing, as always. The hogs of war flat bread was delicious and I'm thrilled the black truffle popcorn is always on the menu. The service was perfect, as always. Our table was a small two top at the back of the restaurant, one that other diners may not have liked, but we enjoyed being tucked away. All in all it was a lovely evening and I happily recommend 1 Kept to anyone who will listen!
After an initial mistake with our reservation (that was quickly taken care of by the manager) we sat down to one of the most fun and enjoyable dinners I can remember. Our waitress was phenomenal and kept us laughing all night. She made great recommendations (the scallops are fantastic) and when the food arrived, it was timed perfectly. We ended up staying for almost two hours, but it felt like half that had gone by. We happened on this restaurant and are so happy we did - as recent transplants we don't have a few go-to spots yet, but this will definitely become one.
Absolutely delicious farm-to-table food. The warm kale salad was amazing - although, a little too heavy-handed with the butter-based dressing , the fried brussel sprouts were scrumptious, the schnitzel was fried to perfection with the spaetzel being quite tasty albeit a bit salty, and the salmon was great. The apple pie was very good and the chocolate cake was just so-so. Our Moscow Mule tasted fabulous along with a decent beer and wine selection. The waitress was so attentive but not intrusive. The entire experience was outstanding. Parking is tricky - turn in near the restaurant and stay left to go down a ramp to a lower parking lot where the restaurant is located.
Our waitress was fantastic, the host made a big thing about the hood in the kitchen needed cleaning. They kindly made the Kale salad vegan for me, it was probably the most horrible thing I have ever eaten. The Kale was burnt, not sure how they can burn a salad. I am sorry that I did not bring it up at the time, but I was tired and it was late. The waitress had tried so hard to make the evening fantastic.
Repeat diner here - great overall experience as usual. We went on a Friday evening for a family get-together. The food and service was fantastic. The only comment I'd have aside from that is it's very dark (tough for my parents to easily read the menu), but not a big knock - just something to point out.
This restaurant is a bit hidden. There is signage on the street but you have to go down this awkward driveway and loop around the back to get to it. When we arrived for our reservation, they didn’t have our table available, so we ended up sitting at the bar because it was apparent that it was going to be awhile before we would be seated. We had a few questions about the menu but the guy didn’t know anything about the food....granted we were at the bar but still, all staff should know the menu! For appetizers we got the popcorn(very salty) and a salad, which was delicious. For dinner we got the carbonara and schnitzel. The pasta was good but the schnitzel was so tuff and dry you could barely cut thru it. Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere but was disappointed with the service and food.
