My wife and I stopped in on a Monday evening; the place was full. That was our first good sign. The hostess was pleasant and quickly got us our reserved table outside. Our waiter was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and very helpful in guiding my wife though the menu to a perfect selection. Our meal was exquisitely prepared and it was an added pleasure in meeting the owner and learning the background to the restaurant. DEFINITELY will return!!

It was over 90 degrees outside and their air conditioner was not working. Was seated promptly and ordered stuffed potatoes to start. Beef in the middle smelled rancid and had server take it away. Ham croquettes were excellent and authentic. Place was packed and had to wait over 1 hour for entree to be served, although I repeatedly asked for it to be brought out in particular because my young daughter and elderly mother were very hungry and growing impatient with the long delay. Salmon was good, braised oxtail tender and savory. Kids steak was tough and chewy, my mom’s steak came out with onions although we asked for it without due to her allergic reaction to onions... thus delaying meal even more.... lastly after 1 hour we were informed they had no avocado salad to give the sole vegetarian at the table..not good.... the icing on the cake was finding a Hair in the rice.

A wonderful restaurant for a date. It's small and, while not quiet, didn't feel claustrophobic or overwhelming. The servers were friendly and attentive, and the food, every bite, was delicious (and, insofar as I could tell, authentic). The pricing was not unreasonable, and because it's BYOB, the night ended up being cheaper, despite buying a very nice bottle of wine. We'll certainly be going back again for a special occasion, as the menu was full of items that we wanted to try.

This was our second visit, both of which treated us to great views of the sunset over the train station along with a festive musical atmosphere. Service was very good on both visits, and Luis was a great host. Our favorite app has been the bacon-shrimp (although I wish it were a little cheaper). Both the lechon asado and ropa vieja are highly recommended, and the congri is a required side. And, while it's a little on the fatty side for my taste, the wife loves the rabo encendido.

Enjoyed a nice dinner with friends. We all enjoyed our dishes. Restaurant was accommodating to my friend's diet needs. BYOB is nice. It would be great if they were able to serve sangria.

Food was amazing; however, very loud. Music was so loud very hard to talk to other individuals at the table. Service was great and price correctly. Would go back

This was a lovely place to have Father's Day Eve dinner. I always wanted to try this place out per reviews from some of my other friends. I was quite happy to choose this restaurant. The had a great atmosphere and the I enjoyed sitting with the other patrons enjoying their meals as well. Our server was very attentive and offered excellent suggestions. The food was awesome! I truly enjoyed my time at 1958.

Since the last two restaurants in this location failed, we were a bit skeptical of 1958 Cuban Cuisine. But our fears were laid to rest as soon as Luis, the owner came out to greet us. He clearly takes great pride in his heritage and in the quality of the total dining experience. Amazingly, this is his first restaurant venture and, for us, it was flawless. Our server, Rebecca, was friendly and accommodating to every request. And the food was authentic and delicious. I devoured an enormous portion of Cuban paella with buttery yellow rice. My wife and daughter had the Mahi Mahi and shredded pork with beans and plantains; both excellent. It’s BYOB, so we walked away stuffed (with a doggy bag) for just $84 before tip. Don’t miss this gem!

What a treat!!!!!!!
The food is home cooked style, as good as my late mother-in-law made as good as my wife and our nieces currently make.
The maduros, congris, lechon and shrimp and empanadas are superb. The flan is "to die for"!!!!!!

The place is small and a bit noisy but the food, service and pricing are wonderful.
Why bother cooking comidas Cubanas at home when we can come here to dine!!!!!
Now, we will no longer need to wait for Thanksgiving to have empanadas and Noche Buena for lechon-we can enjoy them at 1958 ANYTIME!!!

As is said-"tan rica comida"
We WILL be returning soon.

Wonderful dinner sitting outside. Place was pacjed but service was super attentive and friendly. Made the experience pleasant. Food was great, we had the rabo encendido and it was perfect. The lechon was also excellent and made for delicious leftovers the next day. Definitely recommend! Try the maduros too!

Food was very good and waiter was very nice. The reason I did not give it a five star rating is our entrees took awhile to come but no one came and told us why, we had to ask (it was over 45 min from the time we ordered). I will be going back and recommend going just be aware of your timing.

I read about this restaurant a few months ago and made it my mission to try it. I was not disappointed. I took my girlfriend out for her milestone birthday and she was not disappointed either.
Ryan was absolutely wonderful! He was extremely attentive, made awesome food suggestions, and even remembered that I mentioned it was my girlfriend's birthday and brought her a dessert which included singing!!

The food was okay; the value was outstanding. The room is very tight and subsequently very noisy. Our server was polite and helpful. However all the servers seemed harried and unorganized at times. No one from management ever inquired how we were doing; not even a "thank you" when we left. It seemed if your are a regular, you get treated differently. Would we go again? Maybe.

This place was recommended by a native Cuban and she wasn’t wrong. The food is excellent and the service wonderful. The Ropa Vieja is the best I’ve had. Tender and wonderfully flavored as were the congri and sweet plantain.
Btw we split the empanadas and the macitas for appetizer. Both excellent.

This new place in Westfield is the town’s new gem. The excellent presentation of all plates from the avocado salad to the tres leches desert shows their attention to detail and quality. The classic seafood paella my wife and I shared was the perfect portion. The rice was delicious along with the bits of chorizo, scallops, shrimp, calamari, clams and mussels. Can’t wait to go back and try the other Cuban classics like the Ropa Vieja and Cubano sandwich.

Service was excellent. Everything we ordered from apps to dessert was delicious! The owner is kind enough to come around and say hello to everyone. Definitely recommend 1958, and when you do go you have to get the flan. You won't regret it.
