Welcome to 1958 Cuban Cuisine!!
Service is always good, the food is delicious, will plan to visit again, and of course I highly recommended
We visited for the first time this past Saturday with my fiance and his parents. We have a beautiful time. Service was on point, food was so fresh and yummy - portions were perfect - the only missing was the live music ;) Can definitely see your place being in the regular rotation for Saturday nights out.
Thank you for such a lovely evening!
Food was fantastic host was really welcoming
Best Cuban food we have had in a long time. It was noisy but there were several large tables. Will definitely be back.
Food was outstanding and service was excellent. We’ll definite come back!
Everything about this place was great - food, service & ambience
Friendly service; delicious food and good portions! We would definitely come again.
The restaurant was nice, the food was very good, staff was friendly and our waitress was very attentive, the overall restaurant is on the smaller side and since it was packed the noise level was high and at times it was difficult to speak and hear my friend I found myself having to almost shout across the table. But I guess this is to be expected in a smaller restaurant with fabulous food!
Restaurant is really small, tight and loud. We ended up sitting outside then be tight inside. Appetizers were good. We had the rellenos and the avocado w oxtail. For our entrees we order the paella and it was very salty. Dessert was good but bread pudding is served hot. Never heard of that. Staff was nice. Waitress was awesome.
Wait staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is cozy. Loved the table in the back for our party of 5! Food was wonderful, as usual. My only comment was that I had hoped for some specials, as I like to try new cuisine, but the regular menu has some definite favorites (anything beef!), so no real worries. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.
Food flavorful and good. We had an amazing time.. can't wait to return!
Our waiter Travis was delightful. Thank you so much for the delicious food.
This spot was the buzz in the area, I’m always on the look out for any new establishment with CUBAN FOOD. To enjoy comfort food from my childhood and of course to support me gente...sadly as soon as I entered the restaurant it was a quick disappointment. The restaurant was so loud, I
literally had to lean in and yell in the host’s ear my name to be seated. Ambience, I felt as if I was in a fraternity party!
Food sadly over salted over cooked yuca’s texture of mush, coffee was good but the 3 leche cake wasn’t moist and way too sweet. Sorry to say I went home hungry and disappointed. I definitely did not impress my date with the choice of restaurant or cuisine of my native land. 😞
Such great food and service.
The food and service was as excellant as it usually is. The seating on a bench was rather uncomfortable as my partner had to sit on the edge due to the table placement. Servers were great, the people who answer the phone leave something to be desired.
Wonderful experience. The owner came over twice yo ask us how our food and dining experience was. He couldn’t have been more kind and genuine. The one star deduction was related to the waitress who seemed to want to usher us out at a rapid pace. She seemed annoyed when we asked for a few more minutes to decide on what our order would be just right we sat down. If it weren’t for the owner I would’ve taken off more stars bc the waitress was rude. Food was fantastic especially the beef empanadas, I had shrimp and my husband had the special of the day - some kind of meat dish. Well priced and super delicious. A definite gem we will be going back again
I went for a birthday lunch with my wife. It wasn’t too crowded, and we were met by the host, who was wonderfully dressed in a proper suit / tie. The service was great, and the food was great and promptly served. We ordered and shared the chimichurri 12 oz skirt steak, which was huge. The tres leches was dense and indulgent. Great for couples nights.
The service was wonderful. Unfortunately, there was no option for choosing outdoor dining by booking through open table, and we were not able to sit outside on a beautiful evening. I love the latin music, but it was kind of loud for such a small restaurant making it hard to hear each other. The yuca wasn't as good as I had expected (or remembered from my prior visit). We ordered the bacon wrapped scallop appetizers - very small portion of only THREE scallops for $18. overall our check before tip was $200 for 2 appetizers and 6 dinners (no drinks or desserts). leaves this restaurant an option only for very special occasions.
excellent home cooked style authentic Cuban food.
EVERYTHING on the menu is a delight.
The excellent service and very reasonable pricing makes your dinner even more enjoyable.
My Cuban-American wife no longer needs to cook our favorites at home.
While we are dining here, she'll often say "food just like mama used to make".
There is no reason to travel "far away"to Hudson County when you can just go to Westfield for terrific Cuban food.
My husband and I enjoyed our meals. Service, atmosphere and music were great. Loved the Sangria. Can’t wait to go back will be sure to recommend and bring family and friends.
Book before the weekend comes, it’s always full, and that’s because it really is amazing food and great service!
Love this place. The Cuban food is authentic and very close to my mom's cooking which is excellent! Everyone is friendly and happy to be there. I've been there several times and usually have the best service, but this trip it was a bit off. Not horrible, but not what I've come to expect. My party and I were there for an early dinner, so the restaurant was not full. Yet, the service was not as attentive as it should have been. I'll definitely be back, so I hope this is not a trend. :)
This was my second timing eating at 1958 Cuban Cuisine. My first visit was great on 7/28 ! It was a larger party in the evening. Our waiter was amazing. I wish I could remember his name! Funny guy. I think it was Anthony?- My second visit was mediocre service. My waiter was okay. I loved the food, a bit pricey for one person but overall it was a decent time.
Food was good. Service was not the greatest. Our waiter never ask if we need a refill on our drinks, our entree came out before we finished our appetizer.
Fish is always fresh and delicious! Authentic flavors. Great service.
1958 is a great restaurant! The food is fantastic and the staff is very attentive! We started with croquetas as an appetizer and I can honestly say that the croquetas were the best I have ever had. For the entree, I had the breaded steak with congri and yuca frita. The entree was cooked to perfection! All the while, the staff was courteous to our needs and asking if we need anything. The dessert was the icing on the cake! Flan!! The right texture and right flavor! Overall, a great experience! Highly recommend this restaurant! Make sure you make a reservation ahead of time! It is everything you can ask for in a restaurant and more!
There black beans and rice were absolutely delicious and the best I ever had. It sounds plain and simple but they made it into something special. I shared dinner with two friends. I had a fish, one friend had the chicken and another the pork. All entrees were wonderful.
The menu is limited. There is only one chicken entree.
The service at this establishment was fantastic, even the owner made himself present and spoke to all of the people dining. Great experience and good food!
We made reservations for a Wed. at around 7pm. We arrived a little early and were seated right away. The waitress was at our table with water and bread in a matter of a couple of minutes. She was attentive to our needs and took our order quickly thereafter. The food arrived in a timely fashion. We enjoyed our meals and dessert. We finished in a little under 1 hour. I would definitely go more often.
We brought our son for his first time, our second. We all loved our meals and our experience. The warm, responsive and welcoming staff is the best anywhere.
Excellent From the time we walked in until we left. Always a great place to dine.
I used to be a big fan of this restaurant! Bragged about it to my friends and family. In the matter of fact I was there twice in the last two weeks. Unfortunately our service this time around was terrible. I felt rushed and not even a second after we paid the bill the waiter told us that we need to leave because they have people waiting for the table. The waiter did not even smiled once at us did not made us feel welcomed. The manager and the owner did not anything to resolve this. Very disappointing. Will not go back
Excellent all around. Very attentive service. Lots of gluten free options. Delicious. Owner is very enthusiastic, and its contagious with staff.
Very nice lunch!
Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere and good food. We will return.
We sat outside. Nice night and the restaurant was very loud. Food was good. We tried a lot of different things, some were ok, and some were great. We would go back to try other meals.
I was quite disappointed of this restaurant. First we had to sit next to fort door, summer time it's ok, but winter time I can imagine it will crazy. Service was not well organized, immediately when plate was empty waitress came to ask are you done and took a plate away. Food was ok, but nothing amazing example pork didn't have any flavors and chicken was over cooked. I felt we was rushed to eat fast and then pay and next customer can have table. Also it's very loud so it's hard to have conversation.
Great experience and great food
1958 never disappoints . . .the food is delish! The staff attentive and love the vibe in the restaurant!
Food is excellent, service is prompt and staff is friendly.
