   A wonderful dining experience overall. The service was very friendly and helpful, and the food was outstanding. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet and we greatly enjoyed our visit.

   Our meals were not great. I ordered a NY Strip, medium rare and it came out medium well and tough. My drink was always empty, and service was slow. Our server was so kind, but lacked some serving skills. It was really expensive for the quality of food we received.

   This was my first visit to Newark and to 1922 On the Square. The service at the bar as well as table side was excellent!!! Five stars for sure! The quality, presentation, taste of the food also five stars. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will plan to return there myself on my next visit to Newark :)

   Frequent diners at our local 1922 - sadly, a terrible overall experience this evening. Food was over cooked (which is a kitchen issue, separate from a servers issue). However, our server was inattentive which only added to the poor overall experience we had this evening. Additionally, the managers attempt to fix our order/food left us feeling less than valuable patrons. Side note: we have dined at this local restaurant many, many, times and honestly have not always had the best kitchen experience (these things happen with staff over-turn and it’s completely understood) HOWEVER our server in these situations, has always made up for the kitchens shortcomings by simply attending to drink needs for our table, making sure we have appetizers while we wait, etc. In our case this evening, I ended up having to walk up to the bar on my own in order to acquire a drink refill. Our server was all but checked out regarding our needs.

    New age “The Top!” Love it Sleek,chic and everyone knows your name all in one! Emma was our waitress and she was exceptional not only in her overall demeanor/delivery but made sure to ask if this was a special night and what she could do to help make it a perfect date night. Overall the entire staff was so welcoming and made you want to come back.

    Went for date night and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The steaks were perfectly cooked, the Mac and cheese is TO DIE FOR, and highly recommend the calamari. This was our first time checking out 1922 and it will NOT be our last.

    Food was delicious and service was fantastic! Due to the vintage nature of the building, it can get quite loud, but the location is beautiful. Definitely recommend the baby beef.

    We selected this restaurant after we saw their menu on line. We thought the Prime Rib Ravioli would be delicious. We made a 7 pm reservation on Friday. We both ordered the ravioli and a salad. After taking our order and bringing us our salad the waitress came back and said they were sold out of the ravioli. I could understand if it were 9:00. Unacceptable to run out of a menu item so early on a Friday.

    Excellent service. Excellent staff & ambiance. My wife ordered the salmon & couldn’t even eat 1/2 of it. I ordered the NY strip steak because I couldn’t afford any of the other steaks on the menu. It reminded me of Ponderosa steak from back in the day. Very average. Hoping it was just what we ordered. Maybe next time i will save up longer so I can afford the higher quality steak.. we really liked the restaurant & setting just way overpriced for the quality of the food.

    Table was prepped, ready and waiting for our arrival. Immediately greeted and taken to our table. Service was exceptional. Appetizers, lobster bisque, main course, everything was hot, fresh and delivered promptly and was phenomenal!

    The food is always fabu!! We had the brussels sprouts - I could eat those for almost every meal, lobster bisque - the best around, elk with white asparagus and sweet potatoes, the baby beef tenderloin with asparagus and lemon aioli, and creme brulee. Everything was excellent. The drinks were also something to write home about. The Old Fashioned is the best around, the Cherry Baby was very good, and when they ran out of cherry vodka for that, I opted for the ornamentini (can't remember what they called it), and I wished I'd ordered it originally. SO GOOD. We weren't impressed by our server. She was attentive, but not overly accommodating. We weren't informed of the specials, and she was a little curt. Overall, though, 1922 is a favorite for special occasions. Alex and crew have done an excellent job of offering Newark, Ohio a place that rivals good Columbus restaurants. It's nice to be able to drive to the square, as opposed to 40-ish minutes away, and not have to fight for a parking spot. Love 1922 On the Square!!!

    I had the Duck... It was rubbery at best! It was a chore to get the waitress to fill my glass with water. Not sure why my husband OVER tipped... It was a so so meal :(

    We had our best office Christmas dinner ever last night at 1922. The place was packed, but we had excellent service by Emma from start to finish! The Baby Beef was done just right and all the sides and signature bread were great. We will all be back soon!

    There are certain expectations to look forward to at an upscale restaurant, and this place did not quite meet them. The floors in the main dining area are very dated, grotesque, and falling apart. This particular evening was also very loud, and I had to continually raise my voice just to place my order. The food started very strong. We ordered salmon rangoon and lobster bisque. Both were pretty good, but our entrées weren't much to be desired. I had the prime rib (medium rare) and my date had the prime rib ravioli. The prime rib was very disappointing as it was very chewy and the edges were crusty and inedible. It was like chewing a mouthful of burnt charcoal flakes. Your average chuck roast cooked at home would be better or on par with this dish. My dates ravioli to her description, was doughy and the meat inside was a gimmick. Originally, we would have had a dessert, but we didn't want to get disappointed yet again. If you are willing to spend $100-$150+ on a special occasion for dinner, try elsewhere.
