We went to brunch for my daughter's 21st birthday and our server took notice right away and was very accommodating. He was polite and efficient. I wish I remembered his name but he had red hair a beard and glasses. Everything we had was good. The monkey bread, waffles, creme brulee were memorable dishes. We had mimosas and cappuccino that were also delicious. Overall a great experience and I would recommend. We dined outside and the inside was also very nice and I would dine inside next time and would love to try dinner.
They mistakenly gave our outdoor table away to someone else however found us a nice table inside. Will go again, food was delicious!!
Such a wonderful meal and impeccable service from Chris! The restaurant itself was so elegant and full of beautiful art!
Thank you Lana! Hope to see you again soon. Cheers!
Outstanding food. Pleasant staff. Cool decor. Love.
This was a most pleasant surprise to be found in downtown Mt. Dora. The food was excellent, the service perfect and the environment eclectic and artsy.
A pleasure for our dinner after a day of driving. My burger was big, juicy and tasty and my wife's short rib was excellent.
Definitely a place to return to on our next trip to Mt. Dora.
My husband and I had an amazing dinner at 1921. We started off with a lovely cheeseboard. He had the duck and I had the local tile fish. We had hoped to save room for some yummy desserts but I had to save that for next time. Zack was a fantastic waiter and not only had a lot of knowledge about the restaurant menu but it’s also a local small farmer.
Thank you for the kind words! Zach is a tremendous asset for us for many reasons. Cheers!
I had a very nice salad with perfectly cooked juicy chicken breast, gorgonzola-ish cheese pieces, root vegetables tossed in a delish dressing.
My friend had an omelette with truffles - it was perfect in all dimensions, looks and flavor
The bloddy Mary's tasted like Sunday Morning Brunch -
It was just very good!
The ambiance and overall theme of the restaurant was the highlight. The food was good. Price point was mainly for the ambiance.
I wish that 1921 would have enforced their advertised guidelines for COVID precautions. A family seated near us did not wear a mask at any time. Having members of that family move past our table several times during our dining experience became a distraction.
Mary, thank you for the review. We do not require that guests wear masks in the restaurant and have not advertised that as a requirement. Many people still do as its becoming the social norm. We are following many other protocols, as we have since reopening for dine-in service. Daily employee temperature checks/questionnaire, masks on all staff, sanitizing surfaces throughout service, 6+ feet between tables...and we are still operating at a limited capacity to protect both staff and guests.
I brought my girlfriends for lunch while shopping around Mt. Dora. The service, and food were great. I made a reservation lunch and they sat us right away.
Friendly staff. Great food and drinks. Love the atmosphere..we felt very relaxed. Going back in two weeks with friends from Ohio!
I always have the best experience at 1921. Great food and great service.
We had an excellent experience. My husband and I are native Floridians and the flavors, especially the sides, reminded us of family dishes. Delicious.
Went for New Years Eve, and service was excellent. Frequent visitor to the restaurant, and we wanted stunning food and safe place to eat prior to fireworks. Bubbles, Wine, Masterchef level entrees, and we love it there. Amazing job to the staff as they really try to make it the best experience possible.
We had a great dinner 😊
Food and service were really good
Great food and service. Chris is an awesome waiter.
Mount Dora FL has an undiscovered gem! 1921. Hats off to Chef Chris and his team! The on premise art work is not bad on the eye either!!!!
Wonderful experience as always. Great food, drinks, and service.
My wife and I both had the prime rib sandwich for lunch. It was delicious meat was flavorful, tender and cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the ambiance. We liked the natural slab wood table tops in particular. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Next time we are in the area we will visit 1921 for dinner
Always a wonderful experience dining at 1921! Wait staff has extensive understanding of each menu, which is always changing. The dressed greens and filet...nothing short of perfection.
We are return guests at 1921 and it continues to go above and beyond. Meeting at your restaurant has become our family’s new Christmas tradition. The food and drinks were delicious (as always) and our waitress was outstanding. The effort your staff has taken to ensure social distancing, mask wearing, and safety is noticed and greatly appreciated. Please stay safe and happy holidays!
We had a wonderful meal and sat in the outdoor patio area. It was a lovely evening and we look forward to returning.
The bread on the burger was hard and not good. But the burger was big enough that the bread wasn't needed. The bread on the cheese steak was great.
We had a delightful experience at 1921. Service was amazing, food was outstanding and we could not have asked for any better for our 44th wedding anniversary.
very small portions , potato were well ,well done , bread was extra cost .
Very creative, though limited menu. Suggest you check the menu before selecting. For example, 3 of the 5 seafood options were oyster based.
I expect better service at these prices. Slow to remove dirty dishes between courses.
Chef opted out of butterflying the Filet Mignon medium-rare. He was wrong. Had to send it back for more searing.
The biggest issue is VERY LOUD. All the hard surfaces in a museum-like (visually lovely) environment. Unfortunately, a 6 top with a small child made the noise very high.
Always a creative menu, and delicious food, but we have opted out.
We had an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. We were a few minutes early for our reservation and they were able to seat us right away. We both had appetizer that were amazing, the mushroom soup was delicious and the chicken liver mousse was some of the best I’d had. Our main courses were extremely well executed with amazing flavors. We ordered pepperoni pizza (not a choice we planned on ordering before we were there) and the duck. The flavors on the pizza were so perfectly pared that is better than described and was worth passing up a more traditional meal for a restaurant this caliber. The duck was perfectly cooked mid-rare with crispy skin on a sweet potato purée that complimented the salt in the duck perfectly.
Food is amazing and the ambiance is terrific. They also have a very good variety of wines and cocktails.
Enjoyed the decor and food. Service was wonderful and tables were distanced and masks worn apart from when seated.
The service was excellent. The food was delicious. I will be back. I took a guest and she was very happy with her meal too. Outstanding red snapper and the 18 hour pork belly was amazing.
I got roasted oysters as a starter. It was the best bite of food I’ve had since moving to Florida 2 years ago. The rest of the meal was no exception. The food was delicious, we had friendly service, and not that it mattered to us, but there wasn’t a lot of wait time between courses. The only downside was that I wanted to stay and eat the dinner I saw at the table next to me. We left and immediately made reservations for New Year’s Eve.
Thank you Jessica! We look forward to your NYE reservation. We will have some extra special offerings available for the occasion!
Went for dinner with a friend. We enjoyed our food, with the exception of the dumplings with Cedar Key clams. They were bland as could be. The meat and cheese boards are delicious! I highly recommend them. The service was just okay; Not the type you expect for the kind of restaurant and the prices they charge.
Nice menu, tables were spaced for social distancing and service was superb.
They need to put the salt shaker down. Ordered the filet and it was way too salty as were the crushed potatoes. The $10 mushroom soup lacked the most important ingredient... mushrooms...ours had one. The $5 milk buns that looked like they would have been soft and buttery were dense, hard, and tasteless except for of course the salt. Had high hopes for the food but it was a let-down but our waitress was very nice attentive and knowledgeable.
We so enjoyed the food. The device was great, definitely we will go back.
Great place! We decided not to cook for Thanksgiving, since it was the just the 2 of us. The menu was cut and 1921 was only offering a special course for Thanksgiving. The food was on point! The turkey breast was moist and succulent, and the rest of the plate was amazing. The “wine book” offered anything and everything a wine drinker would want. We chose a nice Pinot Noir from France. Our waiter was very personable and knowledgeable. This definitely a place that you don’t want miss. We will be back in the near future.
