We always look forward to dinner at 1921 and are never disappointed! Mason is the absolute BEST server we have ever had. We ask for him every time and are heartbroken if he happens to be off on a day we are there.
The food is amazing! We introduced friends to 1921 on this visit and they were delighted with the experience.
Zack our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. Food was delicious and very creative.
This is a neat restaurant with very eclectic pieces of art. The service was great as well. The waiter was great. He helped me navigate the menu because of my dietary restrictions.
We had two little kids in our party and I do not recommend you bring children younger than ~4. They don’t have a children's menu and they said they could whip up a few options so my daughter opted for the cheese pizza which looked pretty good for being kid food! We also had a 8 month old who ate well. I was surprised they had a high chair. I ordered the steak and it was wonderful. My husband ordered the Atlantic sea bass and said it was delicious. Our friends ordered the scallops and venison. Neither of them liked their entrees, which was disappointing. So between the two groups, we either really liked the food or not so much. Service was great and it’s such a neat restaurant. I do not recommend younger children unless you must bring them.
I had the Curried Cauliflower soup. It was excellent. It was so good, I thought about cancelling my entree, then ordering a second bowl of soup instead.
We also ordered the rolls; 3 big delicious sweet yeast rolls. They were enough for 3 people. We were only 2, so we got to share the third roll. My wife had the Diver scallops, They were excellent. I ordered the Venison medium rare. It came rare. I sent it back. It was what I call medium rare and very tender. The chef grills Seasoned Cauliflower superbly. If I were to go to 1921 again. I would order 2 bowls of the cauliflower soup, the rolls and grilled cauliflower. That would be enough and the best.
Although we did not use it, 1921 seems to have a vibrant bar scene, separate from the dinning area.
Perfect lunch. Loved everything! Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Already booked dinner reservation for our next visit.
Our waiter was attentive and unobtrusive. Cocktails to begin were on point. Appetizers included fois gras which was perfection as well as pork belly. Entrees were venison and pork porterhouse - both cooked to perfection and flavorful. The porterhouse was a very ample helping. Desert was shared and was the creme brule which was awesome. Third or fourth time here and highly recommend.
We were seated in the corner of the bar. It was early and the restaurant was almost empty. The menu look quite expensive ($34 for chicken entree), but we did not mind because we were hungry. We waited almost fifteen minutes and not one person came over. We finally got tired of waiting so we left. I can't attest to the food because we did not have a chance to order, but obviously the service was terrible.
Kathi, thank you for the review. We are incredibly sorry you had a poor experience. That is not like us and after reviewing the camera footage we are ashamed of the circumstances. We would like to invite you back to the restaurant to have dinner on us, if you would oblige? Please give us a call next week if you would like to set something up, ask for Adam, our General Manager. Our service team is most excellent and we would love the opportunity to prove that to you!
The ONLY thing we wished…was for the staff to be wearing masks. Grateful we were sat alone in an empty dining room. When the manager asked us if we would like to move closer to the other patrons instead of being 'awkward and lonely' I happily responded, 'We prefer to be awkward and lonely. We'll stay RIGHT here."
Tomato app presentation and flavors spot on! Service outstanding and attentive. Entree of medium venison was a little undercooked. However, flavors on plate were amazing, creative and brilliant. Thanks for allowing splitting of app and entree. It’s not about price, for me it’s about healthful portion sizes
Wine list outstanding and fairly priced
Delicious food, lovely cocktails, excellent service
Upscale modern artsy environment, thoughtful menu. I actually could see part of the kitchen in the distance and the gentleman I watched worked swiftly but with great intent. He was communing with each dish he created. It was meditative to watch. I got the lamb shank and thought it was delicious.
1921 was a great experience on a December 31th, late dinner. With locsl sourced ingredients, Chef Chris Edwards achieve wonderful results. Impressive dish: Foie gras, perfectly cooked with a mix of secret flavors which brings you all the way to Dordogne.
As an main course, The Flounder was an excellent selection, fresh, crispy, tasty, perfect with a Chardonnay. I have to say that The 1921 Old Fashioned was executed precisely. Finally the service is very gentle, with the right knowledge of what they are servicing. 1921 is a must if you go to Mount Dora
We were looking for a different place to eat for New Years. This place did not disappoint. The food was delicious and made to my wife’s and I liking. We both enjoyed the Filet Minion over some mash potatoes. We brought our two kids (9&12), they both had the hamburger.
Creative use of ingredients leading to a lovely visual plate lacking seasoning and flavor.
Loved it so much that I brought my partner to experience it a week later
First time visiting 1921 and the food was outstanding. My venison was very tender and complemented very well by the beets. Our server was Corey and he too did an excellent job. Would definitely return.
NYE dinner was perfect! We decided on the filet and potatoes which was a delicious choice. The restaurant was clean and the ambiance was fantastic. Our server Brett was also very knowledgeable and kind.
Will definitely be returning to experience other menu options.
Spent NYE there for dinner! We started with roasted oysters which were delish! On to Pork belly and then coffee crusted venison and lamb! Just all of it was amazing. Brett was our server and was perfect. Made nice recommendations and visited us at the table just enough times. Thanks 1921 for a great night!
Went for my mom’s birthday and was amazing!
