Made reservations thinking it would help but ended up and stuck at a terrible table on the patio. Servers seemed to have forgotten about us several times.
I always enjoy the food at the 1918 Tap and Table.
Nice restaurant but noise level is quite high. It would benefit from some sound deadening ceiling panels.
Ambiance is what you get here. Food is just meh...
My wife and I came to 1918 for brunch. We have been before and always had good food and great service. This time was no different and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
It was excellent! We had an amazing time and our waitress was terrific!
Food and service were excellent!
Server was incredibly slow, and didn't tend to our table at all. We had to flag her down several times to check on food and provide service.
We had very nice dinner. Food and service were awesome!
A great local restaurant in West Hillhurst with good variety of beer on tap. Very friendly staff and generally good value. The menu is limited but is due I believe to the Covid restrictions on seating density.
Well worth a visit. We are local for frequent it on a regular basis
Very few guests because of Covid restrictions. Excellent cocktails, beer and food - kale, tacos and pasta. Will be going back when possible.
Joanna was an excellent server, providing suggestions and following up with asking how ewe wer edong, bring the menu back for re-ordering, suggesting a different wine and extremely pleasant. Great job JoAnna!! :)
It is my extended family‘s go to place.
Great local family restaurant with friendly staff and great food.
Under staffed, meal order errors, drink order errors....first time we experienced this, so hopefully a one off
Great pub, outstanding food and service. We go at least once a month.
1918 Tap and Table is one of my favourite places to meet with friends for a meal. The food is excellent, the ambience is beautiful and the prices are good. I also love that it supports the Canadian Legion.
One of the best fish and chips I had in Calgary
Was a pleasant afternoon. Service was friendly and prompt. Will return.
Nice roomy space during Covid! And food is good and good value.
We have been wanting to try this place for a long time because every time we drive by it catches our eye. The overall look is great Inside but it’s not the laid back pub vibe you would expect. Their menu is limited and the night we went they were out of multiple menu items I clouding wine and their wing sauce. The service was not great and we felt it was very over priced for the value of “pub food”
We were very disappointed with the food at 1918, we have been before and it was good but they have changed their menu. Nothing had taste and it was very expensive for what it was (e.g. $16 for 8 wings). Our server was lovely so if you are just going for a drink I might recommend but if you want to eat I do not recommend it.
New fall menu. Had salmon cakes, shrimp tagliatelle and hunter chicken - all great! Cheesecake and apple crumble for dessert. Nice evening and great that it supports the Legion!
We have come back to 1918 many times and never has it been like this. The ambiance was fine, noise level low and tables spread far enough apart for COVID. Now comes the downside. When your waitress doesn’t do a quality check throughout the meal maybe that should be a dead giveaway. My friend ordered the liver, it looked like shoe leather (and didn’t taste much better), my other friend ordered the chicken (pretty basic) and I had a cold steak sandwich. The only main course that was appetizing was the fish and chips. So we decided to give dessert a try. Bad move, the apple crumble tasted like the glue you use for paper mache. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say hopefully they were having an off night.
We absolutely love supporting a community restaurant and the Legion.
We always enjoy our evening and are happy to share this experience with new friends.
Congrats on always doing an amazing job all around
Great food, great service, and great ambiance.
I really like this restaurant - great location on Kensigton, free parking, not an ordinary menu choice, modern & stylish atmosphere. Service was great and our meals tasted great. We liked dip and crab cakes from appetizers and liver and onion. Fish & chips were great too. This restaurant has a happy hour until 6. If you come for late lunch or early dinner, you can get drinks with discount. On Friday night it was full, reservation is recommended if you are coming on a busy day. It has a patio on summer and it is dog friendly! It is a friendly elegant place, not noisy even when restaurant is full.
Great new fall menu items! Warm kale salad with steak was good. Also pasta and shrimp really good. Service excellent.
We enjoyed our evening out at 1918. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We will be back.
ordered plain burger and got a pre pressed pattie??
Service was good and felt very comfortable with COVID precautions.
Great space - large enough to socially distance safely despite being inside. Important during these times.
Very limited menu. Food was okay. Requested a small side salad instead of the fries that came with my meal - the server as a courtesy should have let me know that there was an additional charge as I was surprised to see an upcharge on the bill. I live in the neighbourhood and have eaten here several times but it appears that both the food and service have gone down hill which is unfortunate.
Food was not at all impressive.
We have enjoyed dinner here twice over the past couple months. Both times excellent service, value and ambiance. It’s becoming our new favourite easy place to go.
My wife and I enjoyed the patio, great service and the food was excellentZ
Great space for a casual lunch or dinner. Service solid.
Nice and clean venue, great service and good food.
Food was pretty good and the atmosphere of the place is pretty cool. Very quiet. Service wasn’t very good. Hostess was rude and the service didn’t provide more than a yes no answer. We only got checked on when there was dirty dishes on the table and when we first sat down. For the price I would have expected a better.
We were able to sit outside that was great.
We were happy with our waiter but...
he didn’t mention the “Food Special “so we asked because we over heard another waiter mention to someone else the “ specials”.
We ordered Nachos. They were delicious. We also order Fish and Chips.
They were ok. Sometime last year when we had them last, they were much better. ( not sure if it’s the batter)
And the Caesar salad was pretty good.
Our waiter did ask how our meal was but didn’t ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks until we were almost done eating our entire meal.
Other than that everything was great.
