1913 Restaurant & Wine Bar
Fresh seafood, small plates, and pizzettes are backed by a diverse menu utilizing fresh, seasonal ingredients. We also offer 80+ wines by the bottle and glass and a rotating craft beer list in addition to a full bar. Grab a drink with friends in the bar or have dinner in the dining room - two different environments offer plenty of options.
Favorite place, great everything!!
As always, greeted by the owner- great waitress and bar service. Food was just delicious. Took friends there for the first time and they were really impressed. They’ll be back too. SO happy this place opened in Roselle!
Great food and great service, and a reservation is very easy to make. And, there is a lot of free street parking.
We visit at least once a month and we are never disappointed
Server was rude, pasta portion size was rather small, meatball was way too spicy and conversation was difficult due to the noise level.
This was our first time here. The background music was very nice and the food and service were also above average. We were disappointed by how cold it was in the place. We ate with our coats on and it was warmer outside than inside. We will probably give it another try to see if they turn the heat on in winter. It is a family place because of the pizza so be prepared for lots of noise.
Great food and drinks! Very enjoyable time! A place to celebrate special occasions.
Owner loves wine and curates the list with that love. Still, the prices are very low. Many excellent bottles are under $50. Many small plate shareables are fun to try especially the beet salad and the fried olives.
Great food & great service.
Wonderful location, food, ambiance and service. It’s a grand slam!
This place turned out to be a gem! I couldn’t have been more pleased with my selection for amazing Italian food near my hotel! The pasta was delicious and their homemade dessert of cheesecake was the BEST!
Train is very loud. Prices a bit steep. Waiter had no personality whatsoever.
There was no salt or pepper on the table. No bread and butter either. Could not understand our waiter because he looked down reading his card, not memorized. I had the swordfish special, risotto tasted like wallpaper paste.
How have I not heard of this place before. Hidden gem.
Love this restaurant. The swordfish was amazing! Service is always great.
Enjoyed the whole experience, great food and service!
I told them it was a special birthday when I reserved. I told them again when I arrived. They didn’t even acknowledge it. The food was delicious but they don’t even give you bread or a salad. I left hungry. Very disappointing.
I thought my dinner on Sunday was very mediocre. I had the lobster mac and cheese and the pasta was very dry and had not oozzy cheese - not at all. Very little lobster also. Will not be going back. Service was great though.
Both meatball appetizer and steak dinner were served undercooked and had to be sent back. Joanne, a server was very kind and took care of this while comping steak dinner and offering a dessert of our choice. Wish things would’ve just been made correctly because we were celebrating our first year wedding anniversary and this is where we had our very first date, which was also noted in our reservation but no mention or added effort was made on their behalf.
Great food and great service in a very rustic setting.
We have been to 1913 a few times and it has always been good.
Love this neighborhood place! Great vibe
Love this place! Great ambience. Well crafted cocktails and an impressive wine list. Food and service outstanding. I can’t wait to bring our friends and family here. There is something for everyone.
Amazing food and service! 1913 is one of my favorite restaurants. It never disappoints!
Excellent cuisine overall and service was very good. We enjoyed a mix of fish and beef dishes, just that the fish - grouper - could definitely have used either a sauce or just additional lemon.
Loved the atmosphere and the food would recommend this restaurant this was our 3rd time here and it never disappoints
Food was fantastic. Had the braised short rib and escargot. Both were fantastic. Outdoor sidewalk seating but TRAINS!!! So a lot noisy at times but still enjoyable. Chocolate pecan bourbon Carmel pie!!! We’ll be back
The food is really good and consistently so. Unfortunately the wait staff are rude and don’t serve the restaurant well. The first two times we thought the wait staff were just passable but this time he was rude. The waiter ordered the wrong entree for one of 4 of us. When we corrected the server the waiter came over spiraling the
Dish in the air and said you don’t want this! You changed your mind! I responded nobody ordered what he brought and he snapped well, no matter we can bring your pasta. My 85 y/o aunt was appalled and embarrassed. I regret leaving him a generous tip and will likely never return. Too bad, the food is really well prepared. On our first 2 visits we would tell folks the place is almost great. We know where almost came from. Poor service. Shame
Food was excellent...service was great. We found that this restaurant is dog friendly w/tables outside in front. We returned the very next night with the pooch and had a wonderful dinner with fantastic service outside while enjoying the beautiful weather. Overall... excellent restaurant and service, highly recommend!!
Wasn’t that great - food was just ok and nothing to speak of. Sangria and the coffee and dessert was good!
We made a last minute reservation and were seated pretty close to the reservation time. All of the staff, from the hostess to the bartender to the server were all very pleasant. Also, knowledgeable about all that the restaurant offers. The bartender was quick with a recommendation of beer for my husband. It was perfect and exactly what he had a taste for. I had a Moscow Mule which was great. The server was prompt and answered all of our questions about menus items. She made wonderful recommendations. We had the aranchini, spinach ravioli with bolognese sauce, bone-in ribeye and the pecan pie for dessert. The aranchini was very good, right temperature, crispy on the outside. I didn't care for the sage spice, but that is just personal preference. Ravioli was amazing!! I felt transported back to Italy, very tasty without going over the top. Great texture and moisture levels. Ribeye was perfectly cooked charred on the outside very pink in the middle. Seemed more like med-rare than medium. (Personally have no problem with that.) The pecan pie was good but not great. The busser kept our waters full, and the server was there just when we needed something. Not a moment spent trying to find someone. Overall, loved the experience, I will definitely go there again!
Great food and wine! Perfect for a date night or girls night out!
This was my 2nd visit and was not disappointed at all. The only drawback was that the bar service was extremely slow. The server did acknowledge it and apologized for the delay.
I look forward to coming back and trying something different on the menu. The food looks and what I have had was amazing. Salad was well put together, the house made balsamic dressing is one of a kind.
Entrees were served piping hot.
BRAVO 1913 !!!
The food was delicious! And atmosphere was very soft.
Was our second time there and did not disappoint us once more! We had the halibut and was absolutely delicious! Becoming one of my favorite restaurants!
Enjoy dinner wine and conversation with a friend.
We always enjoy our experience at 1913. I would ask that the bussing service replace silver ware when it's cleared after salad and/or appetizers. We stole from another table but returning with new sets would be a good habit. Overall a minor issue and still a favorite place.
Cute date spot and good food..beware of eating outside during the week due to the Metra train. It runs every 15-20 minutes and is incredibly loud. Service was pretty decent and price is what I expected for type of cuisine..overall, cute spot for date night.
I heard a lot of good things about 1913 so we decided to try it out on a Friday night. We both tried pasta dishes which were deliciously unique. Our waitress seemed rather engaged with a few large parties so our service suffered. I’d recommend it overall though.
Great, innovative dishes. The food is priced reasonably, the wine and drinks are priced high. We sit inside, since the trains are right across the street and make conversation difficult outside. All in all, we will be back!
