   My wife and I were visiting from Santa Fe and went to the Spirit Room for our Thanksgiving meal. The food was fine and was from a buffet and the atmosphere was very nice. Overall it was a pleasant experience. The service was marginal but good enough when you consider it was Thanksgiving and it appeared that they were not fully staffed. I didn't care for the idea of walking my meal past the line of people waiting for a table, but that was the logistics of the location. Overall, I would recommend the location.

   While the menu does not have a large number of choices, the choices are good. The wine list has some local wines, but is also somewhat limited. We thought the meal was excellent and we want to return to try different entrees.

   First note that the Open Table reservations are not accepted as put in the app as the days the Spirit Room is open for dinner do not match. So we were disappointed when we showed up and told it was closed. To their credit, they offered us to eat in the saloon with the lunch menu and the front desk person Chris became our waiter. They did not have any iced tea, the baked Alaska which was on the menu was also not available as it has been discontinued. The food we did have the lunch sirloin wrapped in bacon and the Greek salad were okay but the Brie appetizer and cannolis for dessert were delicious. The nice manager gave us a very nice discount for our issues and I would be intrigued to come back on a weekend to try their dinner menu. Beautiful historic hotel though!!

   Lovely old world atmosphere. Efficient wait staff. Delicious wild salmon with Gorgonzola cheese and almonds. Wild rice and seasonal veggies made a great presentation and perfect. Only knock was too large a serving, haha. The rack of lamb with Demi glaze was cooked perfectly. Garlic mashed potatoes were tasteless, seemed were warmed too long and not eatable. Perfect veggies. Had a homemade eclair on the house due to potatoes, which was a nice touch, as we would have ordered anyway.

   Apparently recently refurbished and it is a very attractive restaurant. The food was very good and reasonably priced. There were not many patrons in the restaurant on the evening that we were there so it was nice and quiet and the service was good. There are a few outside tables on the patio but if you eat here, you miss out on the ambience of the restaurant which is very nice. 2 of our party had the lamb cutlets and they were very nicely cooked and a bargain at $22! The piece of cheesecake we had for dessert was extremely generous also, good value for money all round. Wine prices reasonable too if you bought the bottle. :)

   We were so excited for the Oysters Rockefeller...upon receiving them we noticed they had a strange odor and had not been cleaned properly. We set them aside and did not eat them and were charged for them. The waitress did not even notice. We had booked on Open table as a Birthday, no special mention was made of the occasion. During our dining experience, other waiters were prepping for breakfast and talking work, which did not make for the best environment.

    when you first walked in it took me back to a time of elegance. Beautiful paintings on the walls. plates where beautiful with gold trimming. The food was amazing. I had the shrimp ceviche to start with. Shrimp street tacos for lunch with a side salad. My friend had the grilled brie and Guinness bean chili. The staff was very friendly made us feel very welcome. My friend and I could not get over the center piece . When you walked in you seen this beautiful chandelier in the middle of the dinning with a couch under it. will be going back as soon as I can.

    The servers need more training and direction on how to deal with tables. The food was good, but our dessert was inedible and no one bothered to make it right. We do wish we had chosen a different spot to spend the evening. This is not the restaurant I remember from some years ago.
