18th Amendment Spirits Co.
We reserved a table for 1:30pm on Open Table, drove up from Grand Rapids, got there and the door was locked. Time on the door said it didn’t open until 4pm. So we enjoyed wine next door instead and then drove to Grand Haven for lunch.
First time visit and will definitely return. The Humus appetizer was excellent and our dinner entrees were plentiful.
Food was excellent. Pizzas are good sized for 2 people. The Charcuterie had a lot on it! Almost a meal in itself. Dinks are so good!!! Actual cocktails!
The waitress messed up our order and when we called her on it she argued with us. Later when she brought our food she continued to argue with us. Ruined the dinner very quickly.
Service was very slow, food is nothing special and the drinks were good but expensive. Go next door to the brewery for a better evening.
When I arrived for my reservation made via Open Table on August 9 at 5:45PM I discovered that the restaurant was closed that day from 5-9pm for a private event. I had planned my reservation for a week in advance for a co-worker's good-bye party and had received a text on August 8th to which I confirmed my reservation. I called the restaurant standing at 18th Amendment's front door. The manager who took my call said that all he did was manage the food--he didn't have anything to do with the online reservation system but that someone should have blocked out the time for the private event. No sorry, no offer of anything. So that is six professionals of all ages in Muskegon who have a very negative view of the 18th Amendment and it would have been the first time there for all of us. I do not hold Open Table responsible--I work with online systems every day and know that garbage in, garbage out. Someone at 18th Amendment dropped the ball badly in regards to their reservation system and the on site manager wasn't very concerned about that.
Great cocktails and a menu not like anything downtown. Super experience.
We love this place, especially the live jazz on Fridays.
Reserved a table for 8 at 18th Amendment for a celebratory business dinner. The table was set and ready upon arrival with zero wait time. Server was prompt and attentive. She knew the drinks and food very well. We recommend any of the house-made bourbon and especially The Chesterfield. The presentation with smoke capped in the bottle is very cool and the drink is exceptional. Apps were tasty and we sampled the pretzels, peppadews, and babaganoush. Entrees were served promptly as well. We tried a variety and all were enjoyed including the Avrumel, falafel salad, and several paella skillets. The paella was a bit salty but overall quite good.
Met with friends for dinner, drinks and jazz. Jazz combo was great. Food and drinks very good. Server was ok st best. Missed orders, messed up checks, didn’t check back frequently
This was a wonderful surprise. We hadn't heard about this restaurant and picked it because of it's close proximity to the Frauenthal Theater. We loved the eclectic look - felt very urban. The food was delicious and our waiter couldn't have been better. It was a delightful evening and I will be returning with other friends.
We had a group of twelve that met after a concert. We had made reservations, so we had a place to sit when we arrived. Waitress was attentive. Drinks took a bit of time, but understandable with the specialty drinks that are unique and very good. I had the Hummingbird and very much enjoyed it. Another person had the smoked bourbon (don't remember the name), and that was very good as well.
Even though people arrived at different times, our waitress took care of everyone in a timely fashion. Food order came in reasonable amount of time for a group of twelve. Everyone enjoyed their food and had good conversation. Nice to be able to hear everyone at the table without having to yell.
Great atmosphere and great drinks and food! We had the Artichoke dip and Charcuterie plate and they were both plentiful and tasty!
Our waitress was not attentive. We had 4 different guest checks, only one accurate. Very noisy, hard to have a conversation if group is large. Decor is unique, cocktails are good, food satisfactory. We would go back again, if asked by friends. Second chance is always needed to make a true judgement.
Kind of low key and perfect for a business meeting.
great pizza, nice ambiance, staff was nice and prompt
Great setting but the service was awful. We started timing our drinks as a joke and it was a 25 minute average. I would hate to see what it would have been had they been busy. Food was good at least.
We love going here. The jazz they have on weekends is great.
Creative drinks and food was fresh.
Menu is limited, but much of it is good. However, they should take the pasta dishes off the menu. Not good, very little flavor. We had 2 of the 3 they off
We enjoyed the drinks, food, and ambiance very much. However I did miss a couple of the gin cocktails that are no longer on the menu.
Food choices were fantastic, sampler/shareables were awesome!! Server was very knowledgeable about all Distilled choices.
Good acoustics inside, never seemed loud. Staff was attentive and made nice recommendations. Cocktails were presented nicely, their Sazerac was good. Brick oven pizza was great as well, could have been more crispy but overall tasty and very relaxing. Nice alternative to some of the breweries.
Great staff, food and drinks!
Pretty disappointed with the food. Fries were good but pizzas were all underdone and lacked flavor. Used to love whistle punk pizza but we either hit a bad night or the quality has diminished. Either way we won’t be back at those prices to gamble on improved food.
Hello there! We are very sorry to hear that your visit was not what you were expecting. It is always disappointing for us to see these reviews. Second time visiting. The first time I was not impressed at all. This second visit was very good. Service was good. Our daughter ordered the pasta; husband and I ordered the pizza, all food was very good. Little pricy for my liking; but for a special occasion, I would visit again.
We went on a Tuesday evening and the service was terrible and it wasn't even that busy. My friend ordered her steak tips medium and they came out still moo-ing. The drinks are overpoweringly strong, which is great sometimes but not if you want to taste the other flavors that are supposed to be with your liquor. And forget any service after you pay. We were there for another hour hanging out and finishing our drinks (there was only one other table occupied in the whole place, so it's not like we were taking up space from other customers) and not once did the waitress come back to check if we wanted anything else. We had to hunt her down to ask for more water. The building itself and the atmosphere is cool but we won't be back. Oh yea...and I booked a reservation for our party of 8 using open table because there was a link on their website to do so and when we got there, they knew NOTHING of our reservation. So, if you want a reservation, better not to use Open Table...sorry Open Table.
The restaurant had a very cool vibe, loved the urban feel. Service was excellent and the craft cocktails were very good. We ordered 2 kinds of wood fired pizza. Both were just ok. Some of the pasta dishes may be a better choice
It took over an hour to get our food after ordering. We had to take it out.
Poor service, treated like a burden.
The pizza was amazing! Our server was not the most attentive... we had to ask for her a couple of times. She also wasn't the most friendly.
I loved the unique interior, great place to have some drinks and dinner.
Is was the first time eating there and we were very impressed with the menu, the food, spirits and portions ! Well done. We’ll be back! Thanks
Great table. Great place. Awesome band playing that evening.
Had a great tasting at the 18th Amendment - both food and drinks! Great service. The sliders are fantastic. Many drinks to try based on their in house distilled spirits. A Muskegon gem for sure!
