Food & service were great . Tables inside need to be raised a couple of inches- had trouble sitting with my legs under table.
As usual, a perfect meal! Our group of 8 celebrated a 50 year reunion….college girlfriends from all over the USA traveled to Nashville/Franklin. Everyone agreed this was the highlight meal of our 5 day trip. Branzini was delicate and perfectly seasoned. Scallops were fresh and succulent . Beef filet cooked to perfection as were the pork chops with Sweet potatoes….including a delightful topping of rosemary marshmallow topping. We appreciated the fresh, locally sourced ingredients but the chef truly is the star of the show!!! Craft cocktails and dessert rounded out the meal….lemon olive oil cake with berries and cream wowed us.
Our server Chloe was attentive and cheerful, making sure we had everything we needed. Very hard working girl!
Thank You 1892
I have been four times and it continues to improve and impress me and it has become one of my favorites for atmosphere, casual but Super friendly and effective service, ambience, and food. I love the side relatively new dining room which seems to be less noisy. Will make it a go to place for the future.
Everything was amazing. The starters, entrees and desserts were so delicious and cooked perfectly. We loved our waitress and the drinks she made. We will definitely be back!
Food was excellent, service was awful. We had to go find our server twice. Once to order and another time to get the check.
What a special place! Everything from the location, ambience and delicious food were spot on. Such a treat to enjoy this special place!
Overall disappointed. Had to change our reservation from 4-5 people last minute and were told we had to eat at a picnic table outside (not sure why we couldn’t just pull up an extra chair at the inside table). There were little kids screaming and playing soccer right by our table. Our waitress barely waited on us. We had to walk inside and tell them we were ready to order our food because we waited so long. By the time we got our food it was dark outside and there weren’t any lights so we were eating in the dark. I had to use my phone as a flash light. Paid 250 dollars for this experience. The food was amazing but not worth it.
We waited 15 min before anyone spoke to us after we were seated and then after I went to host stand to inquire, it was another 10 min before anyone came, sense of urgency was brutal. We ordered an app and the waitress forgot to put it in which made our meal go in late too after we asked about it. Food was good but not for $37 for SeaBass and mash puree. No veg, no salad or bread. Atmosphere is on point however, maybe the trade off.
Good food, average service, good ambiance
We sat outside and unfortunately the staff forgot about us more than once. Pretty disappointed because we really wanted to like it. Great location, ambiance, food but staff was very young tonight and inattentive.
Thanks, Taylor, for taking very good care of us on our first visit to 1892! I’d love to see more vegetarian menu items since the spaghetti squash was so good. My husband enjoyed his scallops. We both enjoyed our complimentary lemon cake for our 44th wedding anniversary. The decor and atmosphere was very inviting. We will be back again to try out other tasty menu items!
Was hopeful for more but food was over complicated and each dish was trying too hard and missed the mark. We started with the whipped pimento cheese which was a brick and had no whip. It was so hard you could barely spread it. It had some good corn cakes with it but they were burnt and had large green onions that need to be diced much smaller.
I ordered the scallops that arrived way too hot with runny risotto with way too much squid ink. Dish was also too salty. Guest ordered the lamb bolognese which had good flavor but was also served extremely hot.
We had to wait several minutes for food to cool off before we could eat.
Room was very loud and stuffy. Our table was crowded with very uncomfortable chairs.
Location had no parking and hard to see in the dark.
For the quality of food and experience I felt it was over priced. Staff was nice but pretty scattered and unorganized.
We were excited for our first visit but it was extremely loud and took a full hour to get entrees served. Way overpriced for what you get.
Such a beautiful evening! We sat on the porch + loved the setting. The staff were so great + the food was beyond delicious! We will definitely be back!!
Loved the experience!
Great local spot to escape the hustle and bustle of Nashville.
Best sea bass I’ve ever had. And, I always order sea bass if on the menu at any restaurant.
Food was amazing and great quality. The only negative was the wait time for the food. We had reservations and was seated immediately, we ordered and waited an hour for our food. We had a late time and many people had left so the wait time was too long.
Very charming area and restaurant. The food was excellent and service was enthusiatic
Our expectations were high, but the food was really disappointing. Great ambiance and welcoming staff couldn't make up for the food.
Good food. Good cocktails. Great service.
This restaurant has gone downhill. Portions so much smaller than in the past and food just mediocre and too salty. Over-priced for what you got. Very disappointing.
1892 has been on my radar for a few years now but since it’s about 40 minutes south of Nashville, tonight was our first time. We sat outside on the most perfect evening (clear skies and 75), and although the kitchen was a little backed up - it was all still worth the wait. Pictured below: tuna nachos, potato croquettes, and the pork chop (the menu was written wrong - it was actually sweet potatoes instead of polenta). We don’t usually like sweet potatoes, but these were to die for. For dessert we got the olive oil cake that I shamelessly devoured. 🤤What’s so cool about this place is that it’s so far removed from the city you really get a small town country feel. They also change their menu daily which is very impressive! Overall, definitely a new favorite and will be returning very soon! Taylor gets a special shout-out for being our incredible server and helping us pick the best menu choices!
Food was absolutely amazing. So was wait staff, very sweet and apologetic of longer wait times due to shortages. We already want to go back again as soon as possible just to have some more of that filet and potato purée! Recommend, 5 stars
Poor ratings all around. I noticed most of the excellent ratings were year or more ago. They, like other restaurants, blame covid for their poor performance. Not sure how covid is to blame for no AC that has been out for weeks, hot and stuffy inside, no fans to help air circulation, subpar service, 2 chefs in the back that took an hour to get out simple food dishes and food that didn’t match what was written on the menu. I’ve been here 3 times and the last two times were pitiful. Won’t be returning.
Awesome dinner and the food was delicious!! Only complaint was the ambiance needs so improvement. The music kept going in and out making it easy to hear other people’s conversations. Just made it a little awkward, so I recommend getting that fixed. Otherwise our server was great, funny and personable along with very attentive. Food tasted top notch and service was quick. We will be returning!
Excellent service, excellent food. Great experience.
Cocktails just ok. Heavy on alcohol.
Food was ok. Variety of flavors for scallops was overwhelming. Snapper was ok, but a bit rubbery. Lots of potential. Needs refinement.
This is the second time I was at 1892 and very disappointing. The service was awful and apparently the AC wasn't working as diners inside were leaving once seated.
Great service and great food. One of our favorites!
Excellent food and service.
This was our first visit. We are a family of 4 with twin 9 year olds and we were celebrating my birthday. Typically we wouldn’t splurge on a place like this, but it was a wonderful gift. All the food was AMAZING!!! Like, quite possibly the best meal I have ever eaten type of amazing! I had a filet with horseradish mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. My husband had the rack of lamb. My kids had red snapper and pan seared chicken. We all took bites of each others and they were all delicious!!! If it weren’t for the price I would eat here every chance I got. However, based on the quality of the food, it was worth the price. Everything was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the old fashion too, if you’re up for a drink…it was perfect. In short, if you get a chance to eat here, you won’t be disappointed! Casual, historic atmosphere with top notch food and great service. We will be back!!!
