Our group of 10 spent time at the bar with a great bartender, Reid I believe his name was. Then we transitioned to the upstairs dining area. The stone walls give such a cozy atmosphere. Our server was excellent and our group had a fabulous time. Lots of compliments on the food. Everything was perfect!
We went there on a moderately busy Friday evening and had their fish dinner.
It is an historic 150+ year-old chamming house. Perhaps their kitchen space is limited so that might have been the reason it seemed to take a long time to be served after placing the order.
We had made a reservation and arrived early and were quickly seated. It was a fairly nice cool evening and we both wore a wrap and elected to eat outside in front of the restaurant. It was very pleasant even though there was traffic going by below. We were in no hurry and by the time the food came we needed another beverage. Maybe we should have waited until we got our meal to order our beverage. We would definitely return for their perch or cod which we both enjoyed.
ps I was told there is additional parking about a block away.
This was a pretty average restaurant all around. The noise level was awful; difficult to relax or talk.
Don’t think we will return.
This restaurant is delightful! It has been tastefully remodeled to look and feel like 1847. Our server was so kind and considerate in dealing with my gluten intolerant allergy. The grilled salmon on my salad was moist and done perfectly. I can’t wait to go back!
Regretfully, our brunch on Sunday 9/1 at 11am was sub par. The omelette was small and over-cooked. The eggs benedict's english muffin was hard to chew, and the steak with the "steak and eggs" was tough. We sat outside. There was only 1 other table in the whole restaurant in use by a couple. Empty restaurant for Sunday brunch should have been a clue that the previous reviews were no longer applicable. All three of us asked for fruit to substitute for breakfast potatoes. Two of us got berries, melon, and cantaloupe. The third got only berries. Very minimal at that. Sad to see such a wonderful location and historic building's restaurant struggle so.
Great food, great patio with twinkle lights!
The service was friendly & professional.
All seven plates, three appetizers and two drinks besides water were excellent. The main dishes were generous portions. Serving staff were attentive, friendly and responsive.
We all wanted to try the “new” Stamm House. We made a reservation to eat outside, which was charming and perfect for an early evening dinner. First, our waiter recommended the cheese curds, as he said they were different than most. They were! We all ordered the Friday fish fry, cod. They served generous portions and the batter was perfect! We also ordered the truffle fries, which were not exceptional. The truffle sauce was thick, the fries were cold. As an aside, the “sides”: cole slaw, tartar sauce and some other sweet/sour bacon sauce were also not worth the calories. Overall, we enjoyed seeing the totally remodeled interior, and the outside ambience.
Love your outdoor patio, and so has everyone I've brought there. Hope to try you indoor seating upstairs this fall/winter.
Nice place for brunch. Can be noisy if sitting outside.
The food was all delicious. I ordered the pan fried perch. A couple suggestions would be to have that it is flour dredged on the description. It also needed a little seasoning. Steaks were awesome! Carrot cake was also amazing.
We loved this restaurant! Great food and they've done an awesome restoration of a fabulous old building. Can't wait to try again, highly recommend it!
The AC broke down the night we were there. It was approx 95 degrees that day. We were told upon arrival that it was fixed and would soon cool off. However it didn’t. At all. The poor waitstaff were completely soaked in sweat. We were sweating just sitting there.
It was the hottest evening of the summer so the air conditioning was not able to keep up in the old building, which was understandable. The wait staff were all dripping sweat from running up and down the stairs and into the hot kitchen. The tile floors downstairs and in the restrooms were slippery with condensation. Yet despite all this our meal was good and the service was great. Looking forward to a return on a pleasant evening.
Love the Stamm House. Always great food and service. Beautiful building and very family friendly.
Great wait staff. Food was average.
Excellent service and great food, building is superior
We have been to the Stamm House several times. The food is usually very good. On this Friday night they featured their fish fry. I felt that they didn't put as much thought into the dishes. Those in our party who had something else from the menu, enjoyed their food more. The waiter was also not on top of our orders. He gave a glass of wine we ordered to another table and took 20 minutes to bring another ordered drink. He seemed especially attentive to a particular table, perhaps he knew them. We've had much better service on previous visits.
The service and the ambiance was really nice even tho they seemed pretty short staffed. The only complaint was that I ordered a $36 ribeye steak medium rare and I got a really well done piece of a very thin meat. I think they might have gave me a NY strip instead. I didn’t complain because I knew they were short staffed.
Great food and wonderful service
I ordered my steak medium rare. It was very then and more like medium well and not a particularly good cut of meat. My husbands food was fine.
It was nice of the waiter to seat us in the separate room which ameliorated to noise level to some extent. I think you need to do something to baffle the noise.
2 of us had the salmon...done perfectly, great sauce. B.sprouts delicious
Great service. Jordan was a great server. Fish was great.
The food was excellent! Definitely coming back! We thoroughly enjoyed our Father's Day lunch at The Stamm House.
First time in for dinner with friends. We had a wonderful experience. The drinks, the food, the many food options, the atmosphere, the service - all of it was great. We will be back and pass our experience along!
Great food. Knowledgeable and attentive server. Beautiful build with an interesting history. The tunnel was fascinating!
Great chicken sandwich when it was too hard to cook for ourselves.
