Absolutely wonderful. The service was exceptional. I selected the lamb and it was prepared to my taste. I am looking forward to coming back.
The portions were limited but very delicious. The ambience is wonderful and the staff couldn't be more attentive and pleasant
Nice place for brunch! Good food and reasonable price.
This would have been a 5 star review except for the waitress. The hostess checked on our meals, she brought us the dessert menu and brought us the desserts. And the hostess told the waitress that we were done eating who immediately dropped off the check without asking if there was anything else we would like or how are meals were.
The food was excellent and the Inn was an excellent experience. This was our 2nd time staying in the Inns of Aurora and we will come back.
Nice place, but they felt the need to water down the cocktails!! Really? The drink (Maker's Mark Manhattan, rocks) was watery and slightly fizzy - a clear indication of the bartender giving it a blast of water, and carrying over some sparlking water from the last drink he/she made using the dispenser.
Noise level (6:30pm on a Wednesday evening) was ridiculously loud - all coming from screaming/laughing at the bar. I was expecting a little more restraint, but this seems to be the hangout for all the ex-frat boys in the area.
Dinner was expensive, and not high quality. Seafood chowder was a bowl full of cream. Salmon was dry. Overall food was not what you would expect from a high end restaurant.
Amazing meal in gorgeous setting. Was the perfect mixture of elegant & casual with outstanding food & service. We stayed at Mirbeau in Skaneateles & it was a pretty 20 min drive - well worth the short trip.
Lovely view of the lake from inside inn.
Food & wine delicious!
Came here for an anniversary dinner with my wife and had a great experience! Really enjoyed all meals and appetizers. Dessert was stellar also. Service was good including from one of the two sommeliers. Ben helped us find a great Italian red to pair with dinner and he was spot on. Only complaint is that the initial cocktails were so so. Would absolutely go back!
Very good food, service and atmosphere. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and will be going back in the near future. I recommend trying it.
First of all we were disappointed that we could not get a reservation earlier than 8:45. We were in town so we walked over at 7:45 and were seated right away.
Our server was great- friendly, helpful and fun.
We ordered a bottle of FingerLakes wine - Ravines dry reisling - wonderful.
We shared a salad, steak and halibut. All were beautifully prepared, presented and delicious.
They have done a great job of remodeling. Hadn’t eaten here in 7 years. Will be back sooner than that.
Wonderful outside dining under a tent with lake views.
We had a reservation but because we wanted to sit outside we had a bit of a wait, we sat at the bar to order a drink but it did take quite awhile to get a drink. They were very busy. Other than that though the service was great, and our server was very nice. Food was delicious. Thank you.
Perfect meal and service with a lovely view.
Loved this place. Probably the best dining in Aurora.
We Loved our Waiter, he had a super personality & was so outgoing! Our breakfast and view was a great way to start the day! We truly enjoyed it --Thank You! James and Kathleen Simrell
Great waterfront view, amazing meal, and superb service!
Food and service were both excellent. Drinks were well made. We enjoyed ourselves.
Overall we were happy with our experience. One suggestion we have is regarding the hostess. Although pleasant, she had what appeared to be gym clothes on. Also since we were there also for lunch a few days earlier, she was wearing similar clothes.
We just felt that this was inappropriate for the Inn.
Perfect in every way, Best Resteraunt view on Cayuga
My husband and I were just out for a summer day to enjoy the weather and to celebrate how special this area is. We had never dined at the Aurora Inn but had heard about it. We made our reservation when we were certain the weather would cooperate, and nothing disappointed. It was a lovely day to dine outside, and the ambiance, service, and food were outstanding. We enjoyed the beautiful grounds for awhile before leaving. It was a perfect outing! We will return.
Wonderful food and staff.
Wow!!!!! Book a sunset dinner on the patio. Wine selection was above and beyond good. Food incredible. The view….unforgettable…sigh. Can’t wait to return
The food here was very, very good. The service on the other hand needs improvement.
Water and focaccia with olive butter are delivered within minutes of being seated and the bread is warm and wonderful.
Now it could be that great help is hard to find in these strange times of Covid or maybe our servers were just not having a great day.
If you order sparkling wine and are promised "Your glass will never be empty." That's true, so long as you keep pouring it yourself. Don't expect the wine to stay cold. It's put on top of ice, high enough that the setting sun will make the top half of the bottle warm.
If you are eating outside make sure they take your plates after each course. If not, the flies will help themselves to what's left and there will be no place to put your next course.
Service aside, our salads were wonderful. The lamb chops were tender and perfectly medium rare. The eggplant was delicious. The seasonal strawberry-rhubarb crisp in its own cast iron loaf pan was a nice finish to the meal.
spent the day at the spa & then had an early dinner at 1833. The food, service & atmosphere were perfect.
Beautiful setting. Good for a special occasion. Staff were very gracious.
A great place to celebrate 21 years of marriage. Upon arrival to table treated to a champagne toast. Wonderful surprise. The dinners were seasoned and prepped perfectly. The rain could dampen our joy and celebration thanks to a fine experience.
We dined at 1833 during a recent trip to Aurora. The restaurant is a real gem and is a must-go on any trip to this region of the Finger Lakes. Our food (Burrata and Clam Chowder as apps, Grilled Eggplant and Salmon mains) was fresh and creative and prepared perfectly. Service was friendly and efficient, with great communication. The wine list is a fun balance of classics and esoterics and Bernard is happy to discuss them all with you. We were very impressed that everyone we met at 1833 showed the positivity and resilience that has enabled them to get through these crazy times. We look forward to visiting again on our next trip to the Finger Lakes. Bernard has promised me a creative Amaro List by then! Cheers
I've enjoyed every meal I have ever had at the 1833 Kitchen at the Aurora Inn. We live in Rochester and don't get down to Aurora very often, but over the years, we've come to love this historic Inn and Restaurant. It is our own special get-away whether just for a day or for a couple of days.
My husband and I dined there on vacation while staying at the Inns of Aurora. It was as good a meal as we’ve had in any high end restaurant anywhere! He has scallops and I had the lamb chops and both were seasoned perfectly and creatively presented. Their brunch is also outstanding, loved the seafood chowder and fruit galette. Going back tomorrow to try the crab cakes Benedict and their French toast - can’t wait!
Amazing food & place with beautiful view and ambiance
The food and the service was so good! I had the scallops and my guest had the seafood chowder! perfection!!!
Our server Melissa was very attentive, efficient, and had a great attitude.
The food was very good.
The hostess was playing favourites, no idea why.... seating some immediately, making others wait - then forgetting she had left them waiting.
but Melissa made up for it, and we left on a very good note.
The staff were outstanding. They allowed us all to move outside to the patio when I asked and they realized that no more rain was coming. The worked like crazy to open the patio for us and they did. My girlfriend had the lamb chops that she enjoyed and I had the skirt steak. We also ordered mushroom and peas in addition. My only suggestion to the chef would be to lighten up on the salt. The food was just a tad to salty for our taste. That being said I would recommend this place and would come back again.
The menu is limited and is advertised as bunch. What we had was very good.
Lovely setting, service and food.
The setting was incredible. The village of Aurora felt like I'd left the Finger Lakes and ended up somewhere in New England. Absolutely stunning architecture. The ambiance in the 1833 House was superb, as was the service.
Th wine list featured a variety of local selections, which was very nice to see. The food, from the freshly smoked salmon appetizer, to the perfectly seared scallop and rich, deliciously seasoned sweet pea risotto entrée were as good as we've had. My wife and I and will definitely be back.
This is second weekend in a row that we’ve eaten here. Brought others with us this time. Food was just as fabulous! Had a wonderful experience with very attentive and kind wait staff. View of lake with sunset was outstanding. Couldn’t ask for a better experience.
Great food, staff were very friendly and professional. A nice place to eat out.
Had a wonderful birthday celebration for my fiancée and two friends here. Every member of the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, with several remembering it was a birthday and giving their best wishes (along with a candle in the dessert). The interior is beautiful and cozy, and the food was incredible - we loved everything from the bread and the brie appetizer special to the mains and dessert. I would highly recommend for a nice evening out!
Shashito peppers were very nice. The lamb chops were enjoyable. The service people were human and very nice. The crisp was a bit sugary
