1833 Kitchen & Bar at the Aurora Inn
The Aurora Inn is warm and welcoming with exquisite décor. From intimate anniversary dinners to parties for up to 25 guests, we are prepared to make yours an event to remember. Whatever the occasion, it will be remembered for fine cuisine, warm service, and beautiful surroundings.
The bee issue outside was certainly better this time. Very enjoyable experience.
Delicious meal. Excellent presentation and view.
A step above other dinning experiences with a price to match. Portions were a nice moderate size, my meal was exceptional, interesting choice of seasonings for a steak filet, potatos were delicious. Butter sauteed mushroom appetizer was too large served in a crock, but had a good flavor. Fine dinning experience...perhaps a little stuffy environment.
Very Nice place for Sunday brunch. Food was good and service as well. We’ll be back to try dinner menu in the near future!
Charming restaurant/inn with beautiful views. Great food and service. Very refined!
We were actually staying at The Aurora Inn for several days and had the opportunity to dine at 1833 Kitchen twice for dinner and three times for breakfast/brunch. Indoor and outdoor seating equally relaxing. I cannot say enough good things about how wonderful and lovely an experience it was every single time. I must first compliment the exceptional staff. They were marvelous. I have to particularly single out Chelsea and Angelica! Simply outstanding! The atmosphere is beautiful and the food is fresh and delicious with many menu choices. This is a truly splendid dining venue.
Excellent service food and atmosphere
Only complaint drinks are very pricey
Bees galore outside! Everything else was 5 stars.
One of the best meals we have had in a long time. Everything was super fresh (salads and veggies), right sized (not overwhelming) and tasty (I had the Shrimp and Grits).
The wait staff was attentive and our particular server was enthusiastic and knew all about the dishes she was serving. How refreshing.
Food was excellent! Dinner reservations a must!
Beautiful setting, friendly/knowledgeable staff, and delicious food!!!! Will return the next time that we are in the area.
The staff was wonderful and very pleasant! I will be going back.
Definitely not a luxury dining experience. We had a very nice meal here years ago and came back to celebrate our anniversary. Had to wait quite a while to be seated even though there were open tables and no one ahead of us. Dining room looks like an enclosed porch. Direct sunlight in everyone's eyes. Blinds were lowered but with the style of blind it did not help much. Ordered a Buratta salad. While the tomatoes were delicious the cheese was a fresh mozzarella not a Buratta. My wife ordered a pasta entre. It arrived room temperature and was an appetizer size not an entre size. My pork was probably a nice piece of meat when it started but it was overcooked and was very dry. The sauce was very harsh and did not go with pork at all. We were told that the bread they brought prior to the meal was foccacio. It was not. It was very light and dry. The manager did comp our meal but what we hoped would be a nice anniversary dinner was ruined. I guess when you are the only restaurant in town you don't have to care. At least call things what they are. No matter how good a caprese salad may be it is not a buratta salad. Foccacio is a dense moist bread not a light dry bread. Get some real blinds so people can eat without going blind.
Until this year, I hadn't had a meal at the Aurora Inn since 1993. Wow has it changed. What a wonderful place to have a meal outside. Food and service were excellent. Quite a few people there for a Wednesday night. Watching the sunset over the lake was magical. There was a band that we enjoyed and after dinner we went out back to sneak a peek at the lovely lawn, fire pit and special events tent. Folks were in the tent dancing, playing corn hole. It would be an ideal spot for my family to have a reunion!
Four of us just went for brunch. I had a lobster roll and it was the best I have ever had. The staff we interacted with were very friendly and the service was great. I highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.
Delicious dinner in a setting where the quality of the meal remains unaffected by the pandemic
Fabulous in every way! The chef’s accommodations for our vegan guests were just tremendous! Oyster mushroom artichoke orzo dinner was so delicious! What a staff! Susan! Trevor! Dana! Wish I knew the chef’s name! What a dinner!!!
The portions were too small to be listed as full entrees. For example the chowder should be a side for half the price
The lobster roll at the lakeside hotel in Watkins is two rolls for $19.
Service: when I reserved, I mentioned it was our anniversary, having stayed at the Inn on our wedding night 36 years ago. Usually get something added, maybe even a flower at the table?
I always enjoy dining at the Aurora Inn. While I prefer a dinner on the deck on a nice summer evening at this visit we had to dine inside because of weather and it was a very enjoyable experience
Delicious food, great ambiance, great service.
Only comment i have is maybe change up the menu more.
We ate outside and were moved to a table that had a better view of the lake when it became available-so nice. It’s a lovely location, the staff was great-friendly, helpful, very welcoming-, and our meals were wonderful. The menu is varied and interesting and certainly out of the ordinary, so much so that choosing was difficult. And, for a vegetarian, there were lots of choices, not so usual nowadays.
We both were so glad we came there and I look forward to a return visit.
Great food and service , annoying 80s rock music playing below the deck. Leaf blowers everywhere.
Beautiful outdoor seating, views, delicious brunch food and terrific service.
Perfectly lovely setting. Servers who try very hard in this difficult moment coming back from Covid closures. Food is fresh and tries to be creative but is a little off key.
All 4 people at our table were very happy with food and drink. Service was very good and setting is a beautifully maintained dining area overlooking the lake.
I heard great things about this restaurant and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I had reservations at 8:30 and did not get seated until a few minutes before 9pm and that was only because I walked back up to get an estimate for how much longer it would be. My party was ignored and completely forgotten about and no apology was stated. Then, the food was just regular. Nothing really stood out as delicious. I would go back if I had a gift card but I'd never drop hundreds of my own dollars here again.
Love it there.
No gazpacho in the middle of tomato season? Really?
Everything was outstanding. Service was impeccable, even in times of being short staffed. The food was delicious. We definitely enjoyed.
Very beautiful place with excellent food and service. I really recommend it!
View is absolutely fantastic and delicious So appreciate of all the staff they had on board especially with a wedding going on. Thank you.
The food was plentiful and delicious. They were accommodating to any requests that we had.
We had reservations for 12:45 pm and were seated promptly at that time. You were understaffed like so many places, but your host that seated us, along with Lewis our waiter were excellent. They worked as a team and the food was excellent. We are looking forward to our next visit.
The location, on the edge of the lake, is gorgeous!
The ‘Wine Down Thursday” 1/2 price off each glass of wine is a great idea.
We did have to ask for bread and butter after we saw it delivered to an adjoining table.
The food, however, doesn’t match the location. The roasted Shishito Pepper app was very good and plentiful.
My pork chop was well seasoned and cooked to order but had much too much fat and not enough meat. The accompanying summer vegetables were good.
My wife’s bistro steak was properly cooked but the accompanying potatoes were highly spiced (Middle Eastern flavor, perhaps) that she did not enjoy.
The meal ended on a positive note with a delicious peach and blueberry galette.
Fabulous dining experience. I would gladly come back again and recommend to others.
25TH Wedding Anniversary, surrounded by couples who were also celebrating made for a fun night, even with social distancing.
Food was excellent, service was fun, will be going back.
Absolutely outstanding food and service. thank you
Jenna,our server was terrific!
The entire occasion was lovely!
We will be back ...soon!!
We ate inside as it was raining, and it was very elegant. It would have been nice to sit out on the beautiful patio if the weather was better. I had the french toast and it was very good, along with the coffee. No regrets. The ride from Ithaca was beautiful, and the view of the lake was nice.
We ate there 2 nights on our stay, had different dishes each night and each one was more delicious than the other.
