Have had great meals at 1883.. breakfast lunch and dinner
we were lucky to sit outside in a sunny day. The lobster was quite good but there was not much of it. The scallops were amazing while the artic char was disappointing . The berries crisp was amazing. Ambiance is quiet and pleasant
Very good kitchen/chef and presentation. A little noisy at lunchtime with tables close together.
My husband and I loved dining on the patio at the 1833 Kitchen! The weather was beautiful, the grounds were gorgeous and we were able to walk around the grounds and sit by the water after dinner. The food was very good. The service was excellent.
Love your place for lunch! Dinner was overpriced and underserved.
We had a great time at 1833 Kitchen & Bar. We had the pleasure of enjoying a nice dinner outside overlooking the lake.
We greatly enjoyed a delicious Sunday brunch while seated on the deck with a spectacular view of Cayuga Lake. There is no better way to enjoy life with good friends in the Finger Lakes!
Friendly service. Creative dining offerings. Beautiful setting. Great outdoor seating overlooking the lake. Quaint little town also that added to the experience.
We waited over 25 minutes after being seated with no one coming to greet us or take our order. We then had to go back to the host and ask him for assistance. He then served our table for the rest of the meal. The appetizers and entrees were good, if a bit on the small side. The restaurant took care our dessert as an apology for the wait at the beginning of our meal, but my creme brûlée was not edible. The custard had not been cooled so the entire dish was hot and the crust did not form properly on the top.
The view is beautiful, but the entire restaurant experience was a disappointment.
Beautiful setting, great food and service!
Potatoes were too salty and only fruit was offered as a replacement was not sufficient meal.
Excellent food, FLX wine selection, and service. A nice addition was the music of the soprano/guitar duo.
Wonderful staff...friendly, attentive, helpful! Cannot have a better view or a better meal to relax and enjoy a perfect summer outing. As always, the lobster roll was delicious and the duck confit was as tasty as it described.
Delicious dinner with an even more spectacular view of the lake. Stayed at the Inns of Aurora and enjoyed two excellent breakfasts and a delightful dinner.
Professionally prepared and served. Beautiful ambiance and view of lake.
I took some time to right a review, but I went for the first time when a wedding was there. I was so offended by how things were handled. My Husband and I were treated with such disrespect. We have been to wine country numerous times, but never that side of Cayuga. I had a special function planned that weekend, so we thought it would work out nice. I was very wrong. I will never go back to 1833 Restaurant. The Restaurant Manager was so rude to us. I took my dinner to go.!! The bathrooms were overflowing with obnoxious Wedding people. Talking about who they were hooking up with and etc...while I just was having dinner and wanted to use a bathroom We had no where to use a restroom.!!!!Aweful..
Sunday brunch has become our favorite place for family time- great food, excellent service and we are always surprised when the bill comes- great quality for the price!!
Excellent dinning with a great menu. Food was prepared and presented that was appealing without being over the top. A relaxing atmosphere with service that was prompt but not rushed. The restaurant provides inside and patio service with a view of the lake. A great experience and reasonably priced.
The food was excellent and so was the service. We will definitely be returning.
Breathtaking location, great ambiance, good food at reasonable prices.
This was my first first to the Inn. We enjoyed a beautiful early dinner outside on the porch overlooking the lake. Ordered the four item charcuterie board of local selection of meats, cheeses, and condiments before our dinner arrived. Was surprised to hear that no dinner specials are offered-you can only order what is availble on the menu. I ordered the pot roast and it was everything you would expect, the diver scallops and pasta bolognaise entrees were both enjoyed by my fellow diners although the portions were on the small side. Overall will recommend to others and return again for a high quality meal in a picturesque setting.
Our server was excellent. Everyone enjoyed the outdoor ambiance and delicious entrees and dessert.
Beautiful view overlooking Cayuga Lake. Restaurant was tastefully decorated and service was excellent.
Lovely dinner, perfect service and great view.
Graduation celebration- great service, delicious food& drink and amazing views!!!!
We've eaten at about 80 restaurants in and around Ithaca and this is our clear favorite. Strongly recommend and we will absolutely be back. We have several friends who go out often who also say it is their favorite, their special occasion place, the best. We completely agree with them. Every single item was delicious, the sort of dishes where you save some table bread to run across the plate because it's it's that good. The plating was so attractive and the setting was one of the most pleasant we've enjoyed and the playlist was really fantastic, and perfectly matched to the setting. The food is all very locally sourced and there were some firsts for us, when we're the sort of people who go to michelin restaurants semi regularly. For example, the mint ice cream was made with real mint, not a flavor or extract although pureed so finely you could only taste that it was real mint instead of seeing flecks. And that mint came from literally 5 feet away from our table.
My family has been going here for several years. Maybe it was an off night but service was very slow and the food was definitely subpar. We had some of the worst pot roast ever when it’s usually amazing. The pieces we had were nothing but fat and another table sent theirs back for the same reason. Utterly disappointed in the meal and experience overall especially with the price.
Lobster roll and Salmon Toast needed a lemon squeeze. Sour cream pancakes were delightful. View is outstanding. Service was very good. Didn’t understand the French music playing but it wasn’t obtrusive to be annoying . A great jaunt on the weekend for Syracuse or Rochester residents looking to get away
Lovely setting on the shore of Cayuga Lake in a beautifully restored historic mansion. Food, ambience, service were all superb. A bit pricey to make this a regular destination, but for special occasions, it's wonderful. Tie it in to a visit to one of the Finger Lakes wineries or MacKenzie-Childs.
We called a few times that we were running a few minutes late and for them to keep the kitchen open for brunch. We go there before 2:30pm but they still decided to just offer us the more limited late lunch menu. We were more surprised that the chef was not accommodating at all to find a way to offer any vegan options for my daughter. We drove an hour from Cornell to dine at 1833 but were very dismayed with the menu options. Wine by glass list was pretty good and the setting is very scenic.
Beautiful Inn, Restaurant, and bar. The bartender was extremely nice, hardworking, and even knowledgeable of the menu and specials. She remembered our names and checked on us throughout the meal. All of the staff were professional and friendly. Gorgeous view of the lake. We look forward to going back for a wedding and enjoy the fireplace room and back deck overlooking the water.
I took my best friend here for her birthday and graduation celebration where we met some other friends. We had 6pm reservations and we were practically the only party in the dining room until 7:30pm. The food was wonderful, and the servers were attentive but not at all pushy. We had a beautiful view of the lake and sunset. The only thing better than the Inn was the company at the table - we didn't leave until 9pm!!! Unforgettable night and a wonderful way to celebrate the last four years and everyone's future plans.
Perfect place to celebrate Mother’s Day. Delightful surroundings and ambience, delicious food and excellent and friendly service. A lovely experience. Always a pleasure!
Excellent!!! Food and atmosphere are outstanding!! I love the new bar, the renovations are gorgeous! I love the Aurora Inn!!
Absolutely one of the best meals we've had in a long time- Ben was tremendous, and took extra time to highlight places in the area to see, on top of just providing excellent service overall. Both the food and drinks were phenomenal, and we can't wait to eat here again the next time we're in town.
A high recommendation. Everything about our dinner was top notch. The bar area has recently been renovated and the view of the lake from the dining room is magnificent.
Great time with family and friends. Thank you for the great food and great view.
We had dinner here to celebrate our daughter’s 21st birthday. Everything about the experience was delightful! Our server Kaleigh was fantastic. She was genuinely warm and friendly. The food was AMAZING! My daughter was even given a complimentary drink and a dessert for her birthday. All of this combined with the coziness of the dining room and the beautiful view of the lake made for a perfect evening for my family. We will definitely come back!
Best food in the Ithaca-Syracuse region. Terrific service. Beautiful location. This has become our go-to place for special occasions.
