1817 at Guinness Open Gate Brewery
Our server was amazing! The burger was amazing!! They were very accommodating as we didn’t like the mussels because it was spicy. Lobster bisque was very good! The ketchup is homemade and spicy. I would definitely go back and try other food there.
We had a wonderful experience and we are looking forward to coming back and taking a tour of the facility/brewery
Great place, good food and the staff was excellent
A surprise birthday for my husband — we had an amazing experience. I’d HIGHLY recommend taking a guided tour. Pair it with a tasting and you’ll be in for a real treat. Sam was incredible and the dinner we had at restaurant was great. The lemon tart desert was a hit with the birthday boy
WOW - I really enjoyed going to the Guinness restaurant and enjoyed the entire atmosphere. The beer, food and music was all fanatic, I've been trying for some time in my personal life to make reservation and enjoy a night out at the Guinness restaurant and I finally did go. I should of made reservations months ago, I've been missing out on a really nice place to enjoy dinner with friends - I'll defiantly will be returning.
Best burger in town. Large portions. Beef stew is very good. A little salty, but a nice portion. Guiness beer selecrion is diverse. Something for everyone.
Great atmosphere and easy parking. The food was delicious, we loved the fries and burgers. We highly recommend their nitro tangerine brew!
Keep up the great work. Love the experimental beers, hopefully some will go beyond experiment to mainstream.
My (Irish) family came to visit from out of town, and were keen to check out Baltimore's Guinness factory. Everyone loved it and was not disappointed. Most folks have been to St. James Gate in Dublin and were really impressed by our American version. The restaurant was great in accommodating our large group, including a young child. We came for brunch and were really impressed. The drinks were, of course, wonderful- particularly the creative mock ups of beer inspired Bloody Mary's and Mimosas. The food was stellar and the prices were far better than expected. I'll definitely be back, and would absolutely recommend to family and friends. Cheers!
Brittany was our server and was pleasant, prompt and overall attentive. They were out of Brussel sprouts.
Overall, the entire experience was underwhelming for the price point. The beer selection and pours were quite good. Our server was competent. But, the food was underwhelming and much of it was poorly cooked. We ordered the pork belly appetizer, the first one that came out was so hard and overcooked that you couldn't even pierce it with the fork. It was replaced by our waiter, with one that was only marginally better. The flavors were nice, and the dish had potential, but the execution was poor. I ordered the mussels and fries; the fries were nice, but the broth that the muzsels had been cooked in was lacking in flavor. My fiance ordered the shrimp BBQ flatbread, which had been doused in so much liquid smoke, that you could barely taste anything else, in addition to the crust being burned and the shrimp being rubbery and overcooked. The third member of our party ordered the bangers and mash, which was fine, but nothing overly exciting. The restaurant was very busy the night that we were there, and was as somewhat expected, very loud.
Had a great time; Food and service was exceptional.
It was our 5 or 6th time there and can't wait to go back again.
It was great
I’m an extremely forgiving person but this was just typical service for this area. The waiter forgot to bring us our Guinness beer (AT GUINNESS!) and when we asked for it when our food came he STILL forgot it. A passing waitress spotted us eating with no beer on our table and thought it was odd and asked if everything was ok. The waiter returned with the manager, who asked us if we’d like our 20oz Guinness stouts at the conclusion of our meals? Really? He returned with 6oz drinks and said there was no charge, and then still charged us full price for the dinners.
This place is incredibly overpriced and the service is simply horrible. This was our second time to the restaurant. My advice is skip it and stay outside and just drink the beer. At least there you know what you’re getting and you’re mostly responsible for the outcome of your experience.
Had an awesome experience! The only thing that could make it better would be live music like the factory in Dublin. And, Irish dance. Especially on a Saturday.
Very disappointing this time around. We went specifically for the Guinness stew, we had previously and was excellent. This time it was all soupy with literally two very small pieces of meat. We complained to our waiter and he took the dish. When he returned, more soup and nothing else. The Brussel sprouts appetizer was barely cooked. We won’t go back to the restaurant anytime soon.
Fun place for beer lovers. Food ok. Service poor. Menu selection good. Value fair.
Beautiful establishment with wonderful ambiance and history! Great tasting beers too!
Had a real nice time...disappointed that you could only have the brunch menu in the main restaurant. Didn't find out about that until we were already seated and ordered drinks. Website is misleading.
The weekend brunch was amazing. The beer fabulous.
Small but varied menu.
Food was very good and the service was great. I can't wait to go back and try another dish
Service was fabulous. Michael was very knowledgeable and very nice. Soup was outstanding - it was the star. Everything very good.
Fun place for dinner - food was good! - followed by the tour and then a sit in the beer garden. Perfect date night or night out with friends.
We ate at the restaurant after touring the Brewery. We arrived 10 min. early to the restaurant but could not be seated until our reservation time, even though there appeared to be plenty of seats. After 10 min. we were offered seats in the middle of the room, which was noisy. We asked to be seated at a table on the far side and the hostess graciously accommodated us. The service was slow, but the wait staff were very pleasant. The chicken was dry and the mussels dish was unremarkable and would have been best as an appetizer. The bread appetizer was delicious; the beers wonderful. A lot of money for average to below average main dishes though.
I found the food to be dreadful. Cold, unappealing, small and overpriced. The beer truly is the star and everything I tried was wonderful. I even returned the following day to grab some cans of The Anniversary edition and the Dublin import. So good. I would never eat here again though.
Good food, clean and modern design that is also family friendly! I'll be back soon!
Cheryl, thank you! We're excited to see you again soon.
We had a great time at the brewery, the food was great, the staff was great and our guide (John) was funny and very knowledgeable about everything. We would like to thank Open Gate and Diageo plc for having us for guests for the weekend.
Tom Smith and Christina Ward
Tom and Christina! Thank you for visiting - we're happy to hear you had a great tour and brewery experience. Please come see us again soon!
Very friendly and knowledgeable waitress. Decently priced drink and food options that all go well with the theme of the brewery. The only downfall is that they did not have the dessert option available during our visit. Otherwise would recommend and plan on going back!
We're so glad you enjoyed your visit! Thank you for making the trip to see us. Hope you'll be back to enjoy our desserts. Cheers!
Family got together
We have been to the Guinness Open Gate Brewery several times, this was our first time for brunch. The food was great, as always. The service was a little in attentive but not terrible. from previous visits can highly recommend the tour and guided tasting.
Patricia, we appreciate the positive review and thank you for your patience during a rush hour! Hope you come back again soon for another visit. Cheers!
a Little too loud, but acceptable. Food was good, and came out fast
Thank you for the feedback, Paul! Please come visit us again soon. Cheers!
I was truly disappointed with my experience at Guinness Open Gate Brewery. The food was mediocre and expensive- the smoked chicken soup as savory but overly salty, the chicken sausage flatbread was terrible- the bread was soggy and doughy, the "mozzarella" cheese was bland tasteless and chewy, the chicken sausage was bland. The brick chicken was dry. The atmosphere felt like I was in a food court. I seldom write bad reviews, but I was super disappointed- the only redeeming point was the server.

Awesome place to visit on beautiful summer day. Beautiful outside seating areas. Our dinner in main dinning room was excellent. Server was very efficient and friendly. Our group of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our meals and had a great time. Did I mention their outstanding beer selection? Will definitely be going back.
Thank you for visiting us with your friends. We're excited to see you again!
Very poor experience:
- Had a reservation at 6pm requested a booth (where 3 were currently open) was told they were for reservations, which I also had and then they made an excuse about distributing tables to servers (well at 7pm the place was full so that was a lie)
- Ordered oysters that were uneadible, we returned them, was told we will replace them with new ones and i said no thank you, it was rediculous that they were served to us in the first place (they were removed from the bill)
- our server was always forgetting, extra tea or water, asked for pepper was given salt. Asked for the bread that came with the Mussels and Fries, and she came back and said bread is not offered with this menu item, where it specifically says with Bread, then she said oh i thought you got the mussels appetizer, which it also came with bread per the menu, even though the fries were sitting on the plate.
- after our plates were removed our server came back with the bill never asked about drinks or DESSERT??
All and all will not return to this restraunt, will go to the 2nd floor bar had a great experience there!
Hi Sheppard, we're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experience. Can you please send an email to NewGuinnessBrewery@diageo.c om so we can ensure a better visit next time? Thank you!
Food was fantastic. Waitress was not real attentive due to having too many tables. Will be back!
We're sorry for the wait and thank you for your patience! We look forward to seeing you again in the future. Cheers!
3rd time there, and clearly the 1 year anniversary is drawing a larger crowd, but service was still good and the line moved well. Definitely recommend making a reservation for a delicious meal in their spacious and comfortable restaurant. A little pricey, and not a huge menu, but the quality of the food makes it worth it.
Hi Cindy, thanks for joining us! We hope to see you again soon.
Waitstaff was super helpful and knowledgeable. Fun experience.
We're glad you had a great experience! Thank you for visiting us.
Our dinner at 1817 at Guinness Open Gate Brewery surprised us! It was very good -- we were expecting basic pub food, but it was better than that -- 6 of us for dinner, every singer entree was excellent. We will return.
We're so glad to hear you had a great meal! Please come back to see us again soon.
Loved it and can’t wait to return! Thank you for the first time memories.
Cheers, we can't wait to see you again!
We had a great time! The oysters with Guiness were WOW!!! Thanks. I am reluctant to eat oysters at many locations, not knowing where they come from or how they are friged and fixed. Yours were GREAT!!! Our daughter loved the Guiness Beef Stew. We will definitely return for another afternoon of beer and buffet.
Thank you for the positive review! We can't wait to see you again.
