Good for a small town, for sure. Pleased with what the owners are doing - and they are doing a great job. Though, food prices on certain items are a bit overinflated for what you get. I know good food isn't about price nor quantity, but...when one plate is piled with fries, some steak on top and sauce on the side and, another has chicken and all kinds of nice root vegetables, etc., with a nice sauce, it is hard to understand a $9-10 price difference. I know, red meat is more expensive, but not for the amount, taste nor presentation that was received. The chicken far surpassed the beef in quality, presentation and taste. Over all, though...great food and atmosphere. Keep up the good work!
Everything was delicious and wonderful! We will definitely visit again!
Wonderful food and service! We have gone as a family and on a date night and we’re pleased with everything every time.
Finally got to try out 1816 Modern Kitchen. The cauliflower grits and shrimp was fabulous and the smash burger was huge and delicious. Would definitely go back and recommend everyone to try
Good experience love the food and drinks, great service
Had lunch here on a Saturday. Our server was very friendly. The meals were excellent and the presentation was beautiful. I would highly recommend for any special occasion.
Always a great time with amazing friends and tasty food. The egg roll and Brussel sprout appetizers are a go to!
New Year’s Eve
Very good food and service. The live music was a nice touch for New Year's Eve. Dined here with my wife and two kids at a 445 reservation. Overall nice experience, only take away is a recommendation to other families with kids. Because of the menu and cozy dining, this restaurant is better suited for adults. If you take young kids, don't complain when a table of adults is next to you having adult conversation with some drinks :-)
Traveled up from Louisville for lunch today. We had a great visit at 1816 today. The restaurant does not hold many people but is quaint and styled neatly with bourbon barrel tops etched with history.
We had the truffle fries for an app, Shrimp and Cauliflower grits, and a smash burger for lunch. Food was great, service was great. 1 improvement...With a room this small, the restaurant needs to share a 1 stall restroom for both sexes. It was not in top form today on our visit.
The food was delicious and exceeds our expectations! The Shrimp and grits were spectacular....
The food was delicious! The only complaint was that every time the door opened, it was freezing cold. It would be awesome if they had a vestibule for the cold months.
Best place to eat on this side of the river! A delicious addition to Corydon, Indiana. Egg roll appetizer is the fantastic coming out piping HOT!! I know the General, Deboned chicken, shrimp and grits, and the hamburger are EXCELLENT. I can not get out of there without having pumpkin cheesecake with graham cracker crust. Mule, margarita and great and I will try the gimlet next. Servers were on point! I will be back SOON.
Fantastic food. Hands down the meal we've had in a long time, even though they were out of the item that I really wanted. No one mentioned that the item was out when we received our menus. So, I was a bit disappointed to get excited about it, and then they didn't have it. The restaurant is in a cool old building, built in the late 1800s. The staff was very friendly but a bit busy and unresponsive at times. The downstairs area is really nice. We didn't realize there was an upstairs seating area, and that's where they sat us. The ambience was nice but not as nice as downstairs. The stairs leading upstairs were the biggest problem in the place. They're very steep and very slick. A guy who was clearing tables actually fell down the stairs when we were there, and we could hear dishes crashing down the stairs. Overall, it's a fantastic place, but a few thigs need work. (i.e. Put some non-slip treads on the stairs!)
It is our favorite restaurant. We often get all the appetizers for our table.
The food was AMAZING. The environment was nice and fun. We had a very nice time and we will be back. We had a reservation snd were seated immediately. I highly recommend for their food.
Food was very flavorful and impressive presentation.
The space is cozy and well decorated. With the pandemic, there wasn’t many people, but the staff was friendly. The food was great. The burger was probably one of the best I’ve had. My date had the stuffed meatloaf. The meatloaf was good and had a little kick. Great place and will come back.
Small place; social distancing can be a challenge. Excellent food & service.
The food was FANTASTIC!! The service was excellent!! A wonderful addition to Corydon. The best food on this side of the river. Cocktails were specialty ones and we had a few... The food around us looked just as great and everyone seemed to be enjoying the experience.
Hands down, this is one of our favorite restaurants in Southern Indiana! The food never disappoints and Chef Scott and his staff are amazing!
Love the food. Great atmosphere. Recommend to all my friends.
We had a wonderful meal. The ambiance was great. Cute little place downtown Corydon. Brussel sprouts were amazing.
Great! Everything.
This was my first time at 1816 and I will be back! This is the cutest spot that really showcases how great Corydon really is. Food was seriously so good, from the appetizer to the dessert.
Gem of a restaurant nestled in Corydon. Excellent menu and drinks. Great vibe with cool background music. You no longer need to travel to Louisville for excellent dining!
Chef Scott creates the best recipes. Everything is always top shelf tasty. I know that when I make a reservation for dinner that what ever I order will be the best on the menu. A bonus with these recipes is that most of the products are from out local farmers.
Food is really good! Small, small place! Felt crammed especially with all the Covid rules for restaurants. Person sitting behind me kept bumping me as well as staff walking past our table! We had reservations for 7:30. We were sat at our table upon walking inside. However our server Nick took another tables order first. This table of 3 were seated after us. Nick also didn’t mention any specials for the evening & was very slow with drinks. Hostess should look at her cell phone less. Food menu online doesn’t match the restaurant menu when you visit. If it wasn’t for the made to order food quality food , we most likely would not return.
Cute little place. Food was great. Large portions and high quality. Limited bar but the drinks there were great!
Amazing dinner! The Go To Margarita and Lavender Mule were a perfect start with the fried green tomatoes. Nick had the Smash Burger with fries & added pork belly. I had the Crispy Skin Chicken with perfectly roasted veggies and Bourbon Gravy!
This was an awesome date night and we'll definitely come back!
The service was good, waitress was friendly. Took a while to get our food, especially since we were the first customers to arrive for lunch.
My smash burger was burnt not caramelized. No juice at all. The truffle fries were good. My wife had the crispy chicken and enjoyed it . The vegetables that came with her meal were charred on one side which gave them a burnt taste We ate here because of the good reviews...chef must have had an off day.
Anniversary Dinner
The food, drinks, and service was awesome! A little noisy upstairs music was a little loud. Would definitely go back.
Delicious and different kinds of food. Roasted squash and white bean hummus and fried green tomatoes delicious. Steak tender and delicious and cooked correctly. The meat loaf dish was overcooked and the red sauce over it was too spicy (should be a warning on the menu). French fries a little too salty. We had two servings of the wild berry bread pudding; one was burnt on part of top and edges, and the sauce over it was runny and not as thick and tasty as expected. Not very many berries. That was not worth the price. Noisy atmosphere when everyone was talking, plus the music seemed quite loud. But overall, a pleasant evening and I would recommend it to others.
Adorable little spot found in Corydon, IA with amazing food and service. Delicious cocktails and HUGE portions! Such a pleasure to have stumbled upon this charming little town.
Met up with a friend from out of town that we hadn’t seen for several years
Food was amazing! Will definitely be back. The staff was on it. Attentive but not hovering. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful atmosphere and the food was delicious, we will be going back!!
Loved it, however they were out of a lot.
We had the spring rolls to start and they were delicious. For our entrees we had the smash burger and the pork belly general tso both were amazing.
