Awful! If your going to close, just close, don't leave your team on the hook with nad food and service.
The food was tasty but very expensive for the small portions. We got the olives for $12 and there were only about 10 olives! And on the beef cheek, there were 3 tiny mushrooms on the side.- come on! Service was excellent.
Service & food were great!
Breakfast was nothing special. Expected a lot more.
This used to be a great place for a business lunch. The menu seems to have been reduced substantially. No more specials. My guest had ordered a spinach salad which was a plate of spinach with some tater tots and a slightly runny egg.
Impressive wine and drink selection- gotta try the Tennessee bourbon 🥃. I enjoyed my chat with the waitstaff.
Spinich salad was very good. Order it with extra bacon dressing.
Be sure that they give you your rewards points. I received 100 when I should have received 1000.
Great Breakfast....And Great service from start to finish, really impressed since hotel food and service can be sketchy!
Great spot for lunch!!
The food was great but the service was horrible would not recommend due to the service
We went for mothers day brunch. Wait staff seemed confused and woman at hostess stands was sort of rude to serverstalking them to so what they were doing and come over and seat people. Because of this. Diety dishes were strewn right at hostess area..stacked up waiting until someone was free to remove them. We sat down to brunch and waited over 10 minutes before sidewinder came back to take a drink order. I was really looking forward to a mimosa and no one was there to take an order. Food was pretty good...biscuit were cold and rock hard...a shame because they looked like they would have been really good if warm. The restaurant wasnt at capacity and i would say service was shoddy...although they were pleasant once they got around to you. Can't say I'd recommend this place. Sorry.
We have visited the 1808 Grille for the Mother's Day brunch for the past five years or so. It is certainly now a family tradition. Our initial visit years ago was for dinner. The noise level in the evening was more quiet, in line with a special occasion or romantic dinner. It is our understanding that a major renovation is coming. Hopefully, it will not change the food quality or service and simply expand the wonderful ambiance.
We went for Mother's Day buffet. It was a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. The wood floors and sculptures were beautiful! We came for the brunch buffet. It did have a nice variety of food all of which was very good. The menu for their Mother's Day Brunch said it had an omelet bar which it did not have, but when I asked they were willing to make an omelet in the back. Everyone enjoyed their food. We had tip automatically added to our bill and I don't know for sure if that was the result of being a party of 6 or if that is normal operating procedures. The free valet parking was a great bargain. Made it very easy and less stressful!
Overall, we were disappointed. While our food was tasty, the menu descriptions (staff & written) were not accurate and we felt all of the items were pretty much over-priced. Portions were smaller than expected - especially for the "share" items. One of the desserts we ordered was totally inaccurate (offered as a coconut tart but it was lime or lemon with sprinkles of coconut.) When we questioned it, our server sent a manager out to explain! There really was no good explanation and no offer was made to replace or adjust for the dessert inaccuracy. This was not our first visit to 1808 Grille, but it will probably be our last!
Eh. It was a small menu that was not thoughtfully designed and with a server who obviously did not want to be a server. I will NOT be back.
Salad and soup for lunch was extremely over priced.
Food well-prepared. They were understaffed. They had to scramble to find a wine list. Overall experience disappointing.
First time there. Was not the best meal I ever had, but not nearly the worst, either. I will certainly give you another crack at me. Perhaps a Sunday Brunch. Soon........
We went for Easter buffet brunch. Small selection of options, no effort made to keep carved buffet brunch meats warm so it was cold, consistently ran out of food, only one chef preparing omelettes so there was always a line. Way overpriced for food and service, 20% tip automatically added on to a serve yourself buffet! Long wait for drink refills. Only redeeming points were the bloody mary/mimosa bar and server "found" a piece of dessert we asked about that had been there earlier. We will not be back.
I read about this restaurant in the Nashville Magazine and decided to take my family there for Easter Brunch. It was $147.00 for 3 people. There was very little food for choice- an omelet bar and cheese potatoes , lamb, and carved beef. The salad was a cold plate of what looked like weeds - it had white asparagus, and some other leafy looking veggies, deviled eggs , a charcuterie/cheese area along with bite size cakes for desert. Each station that was staffed was well managed. The other stations looked empty like the stuff had been picked over. We felt it was so skimpy for an Easter brunch. We decided not to go to the country club but to try a nice new restaurant. Wow, we were wrong! They also put $22 on the tab for the tip. The whole thing was terrible and ruined our Easter! We went home and ate out of the refrain because we were still hungry! The only nice thing was our server - she was very kind and attentative. I do not recommend 1808 Grille at all.
We always enjoy our meals at the 1808. This was for the Easter Brunch Buffet. Some hiccups, like running out of food and having to wait a few minutes, but overall we had a really nice meal.
Easter brunch was a bit pricey for options. Omelette station stopped working. But staff was wonderful and accommodating. They work the omelette issue well. And it's was a nice place for a couple date.
We went for Easter Brunch. The food was good, but nothing was hot. For a $130 meal I expect hot food.
Decided on Easter brunch at 1808 and we weren't disappointed. Friendly, professional service, great quality food without buffet fillers. Nice omelet station, carving station with ham, beef. Good selection of charcuterie items meats , cheeses, pickled veggies, bread etc
Fruit and sweets were represented very well and mimosas, Bloody Mary's juices of all kinds
Check out 1808 on West End, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
We had Easter Brunch here with family and it was great! Great selection of foods and very good food and great meat selections
Easter Brunch was okay but way over priced! There was an added 18% gratuity. Not sure why the gratuity was added as our server only poured coffee. Probably won't return. Not work the price!
Second time back since new chef came. Both times missed the mark, sorry to say. Lunch items were unwieldy and too heavy on bread, meat and even mid-day pasta and pizza. That leaves salads or tomato soup, and salads were not enticing either...beets seemed soggy, not fresh. This used to be a favorite for lunch, but with this menu and the unnecessary throbbing music, we will wait until something changes to go back.
When will restaurants learn that music is a key detail that should add or be neutral, not sound like a work-out gym. This space is too attractive to sound this way. Try some classic jazz or even Brian Eno....or hire a consultant.
Limited menu. Should include bar menu in restaurant menu. Didn't carry/was out of Hendricks gin?
Great food and staff very attentive but limited menu, we thought.
The 1808 Grille is a hidden treasure for Nashville. The menu changes so you get to try new things. Perfect preparation and great service.
We ate brunch here after staying at the Hutton Hotel. We were celebrating our wedding that took place the night before. The food options on the brunch menu were great and definitely tasty. I recommend this place for a good quiet private meal with a decent price-point.
This was as nice as any restaurant experience I have had in Nashville. PERIOD. We were there early on a Sunday night, having a concert at 8:00. That said, we were they only folks there when we first arrived, so service was incredible. Our waiter, Ibby, is working way below his pay grade, waiting tables for now. But he has been a Food and Beverage Manager for a large tourist destination. He knows the business inside and out, and if you could buy stock in a person, I'd buy his. I believe he is destined to be a big player on the Nashville Food Scene. The food was incredible as the service. The spinach salad was the best salad I ever had. I don't know how a salad could be so good, but I would have one 3 days a week if I could. My wife and I both had the duck breast, and it was the best we ever had. We have been here before, but as it turns out, they started a new menu that night, and we were the first paying customers to taste it. The portion size (thankfully) will not leave you carrying around styrofoam containers. The price reflects that reality. I consider that a compliment, not a complaint. We will be back.
Make you you have Chef Kerry's flatbread. The chickpea burger is amazing.
High priced but good food and service. Wished there was more of a selection. Gluten free options.
Loved having the early reservation. Restaurant was quiet when we went. S.a. Provided great service. Fries were extra crispy as requested. Seats were very comfortable. Valets were excellent.
1808 has been a favorite of ours for a number of years. However, THIS meal was a severe disappointment. The wine selection is still good. The food was just OK. The service was dismal. Our server was inexperienced and no one seemed to be in charge. We had difficulty getting the waitress's attention and they were not busy.
I have been eating at 1808 at least once a month for about 2 years. The menu has changed completely and the food was practically inedible. Too bad. I will not be coming back or recommmending it..
Where do I start? Bad service from start to finish. Food not good and portions sparse. Very disappointing.
We went for 21st birthday celebration. The food choices are limited but a good mix. Server was slow and not very attentive. The water/bread person was fabulous and really took care of us. The décor is very chic and modern. A little pricey but comparable to other places. Everyone enjoyed but don't plan a quick dinner.
Waited over 15 mins to place order. Waited over 30 mins for food. Uninspired menu. Mediocre food. Much better dining options in Nashville at this price point.
I took my lovely date here for dinner and we both loved it. The ambiance, service, food, wine, etc was excellent. Our server, Liz, made excellent recommendations for food and wine. If you get the chance, stop by 1808 Grille for a nice date night or with friends. You WILL NOT be disappointed.
