Voted best steaks and most romantic restaurant at the beach.
Wow! A restaurant in a strip mall can be this good. Who would have thought!!? We walked in, not expecting a transition to an elegant dining room. What followed was even better. An awesome steak dinner with great service and ambience. Do not hesitate to go here!!
My wife and I took our me neighbors, it was their first time there. The meals were great, and they rant and raved about how great the 1776 food was.
Good food - BUT - we purposely chose 1776 for the music for Jazz Week. Even the regular piano guy was not playing. Big disappointment because we chose the restaurant to entertain friends visiting from Arizona.
Excellent steaks, tasty seafood and a staff that’s attentive but not “hovering “.
We were a party of four, and arrived exactly on time for our 6:30PM reservations. We were celebrating my wife's 77th birthday. Most of us had steak, One person had the crab cakes. Every dish was delicious and was exactly what each person ordered. My wife and I shared a top shelf bottle of Peno Grigio which was excellent as usual. All the bed dishes were cooked to perfection. The filets were so tender you could cut them with a fork. The is the best steak house in Rehoboth. We live here year round and we know where to go for excellent food.
The black lobster ravioli appetizer was delicious, as was the French onion soup, which started out our meal perfectly. I ordered the New York strip steak, cooked rare, with a baked potato and the veggie of the day. Fabulous and cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the bone in rib eye steak, cooked rare, with mashed potatoes and the veggies. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. We were so stuffed before we finished half of our dinner, but I couldn’t resist ordering a slice of devils own chocolate cake with a butter cream frosting to go, along with all our leftovers. Next time we have a special occasion to celebrate we will definitely be back.
I had the fish special and it had no flavor. Steak good but asparagus was mushy. Just not worth the price
Excellent meal and service. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about all the cuts of meat. We had the Filet 1776 and it was phenomenal. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious steak dinner.
Dinner at 1776 Steakhouse is truly a wonderful experience - delicious food, great, friendly service. 1776 has become our favorite place to celebrate our anniversary each year.
My wife and I always enjoy dinners at 1776, but it's also a wonderful location for a working lunch. On my latest lunchtime visit, my guest - a first-timer at 1776 - was impressed by the food, service and atmosphere (which always are consistently excellent).
The lunch menu offers a nice selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and burgers, but servers always point out that it's possible to order from the dinner menu, as well. Having had many casual and working lunches at 1776, I'm partial to the burgers (served with house-made chips) and the Imperial Twins (toasted English muffins piled high with crab imperial, then covered in melted cheddar cheese). Salads are excellent, as well.
Because 1776 tends to be less busy at lunch than at dinner, it's very conducive to quiet business conversations. Our server, Rob, paced the meal accordingly, so we never felt rushed.
Another five-star performance by the 1776 team!
Hands down favorite restaurant and the best steak I’ve ever had. I couldn’t be happier with the service.
Our server Andrea was outstanding, attentive to details like bringing a new napkin after someone in our party dropped hers and making sure everyone had fresh drinks. On this particular evening they had a piano player and it was nice to listen to. Our steaks and salmon were perfect.
Really enjoyed our delicious meals. We had the Lamb dinner, Filet Trio, Stuffed Flounder and sirloin dinner.....(4 of us). Lorie was our server..she is great. Just wish we could have talked more at our table. Could not hear each other in our conversations. We will definitely be back though and perhaps request a more quiet area.
Our dining experience was very good. The food was prepared perfectly and the service was attentive and prompt. Overall very pleased we celebrated our anniversary there.
Visiting from Charlotte NC. 1776 Steakhouse was recommended by Elizabeth in the sales office at K Hovnanian at Belle Terre. We were looking for a nice place as we were celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary.
Greeted quickly with a warm welcome and a Happy Anniversary. Food was excellent. I had the 1776 Steak and my husband had the NY strip. If we lived closer, we’d definitely go back.
Steak was great. My daughter ate it all she loved the veggies. She is still talking about it. It was quiet and pleasant and the staff was very helpful. Great place.
My boyfriend an I had dinner there on Saturday night. Absolutely enjoyed ourselves from the time we walked in. Atmosphere, friendly service food was out of this world. Paul was our waiter and the nicest gentleman. Very positive experience. Definitely will return.
My new favorite restaurant. This is the second time I visited, and the food was as great as the first time. It was a little noisy, but the restaurant was crowded, so wait staff was just doing their job. Our wattress came to our table numerous times. As soon as you finish eating, they are right there to clear the table. It was a great experience. I am sure I will visit again soon.
Your a steak house and both times I have been there my steak was disappointing. Had the Delmonico first time and it was overcooked, this time I opted for the bone in NY Strip, again disappointing, having just had one at Fagers Island that was out of this world, yours was half the thickness looks like it was cooked in a pan and was tasteless. You were also a few dollars more expensive, that really doesn't matter to me, I had forgotten that you offer a look at raw steaks before choosing I probably would picked something else but our waitress did not give us that option and she never asked if we liked our meal
great food great service
pricey but in line with other places in the area
loud on busy nights
Amazing steak house. The food, service and atmosphere are always consistently excellent. It is reasonably priced for the high quality of food and service we always receive.
Anniversary dinner. First timers. Excellent food and service. The musical entertainment was top notch! Will return.
We had a 7:00 reservation and were seated and served promptly. Our only negative would be that our waiter did not advise us of the specials. Other than that, he was attentive and courteous. Our apps, dinner and desserts were outstanding. Love this restaurant. Highly recommend, but make a reservation. It was reservations only the Saturday night we were there.
Great way to celebrate our anniversary. The food is awesome. The black lobster ravioli is a must have. The service was excellent. I highly recommend 1776 if your looking for the very best meal in the Lewes, Rehoboth area.
The food was absolutely delicious! Best steak meal my husband and I have had in a long time. Definitely recommend the 1776 Filet Mignon steak combo.
Enjoyed a wonderful meal and great service. Nice atmosphere and enjoyed the piano player3.
1776 is a wonderful steak house in Rehoboth. The prices are better than other steak houses in downtown but there is no drop off in the quality of the food. Two of our party had filet mignonette which we cooked as requested... one medium-rare and one medium. Another person had surf & turf which was also excellent. The staff truly hustles to deliver a quality dining experience. There were also two birthday parties and the servers made sure to make an appropriate level of fuss for the occasion. A pianist plays music at an enjoyable level which allows for easy conversation while dining. A great evening.
Enjoyed a birthday celebration for 8 on 9/24. Our waiter was terrific. Drinks were good, and the appetizers were excellent. Everyone [4 or 5] who ordered the filet mignon trio with different sauces said it was delicious. Two of us ordered the barrel cut and were a bit disappointed. It was okay, but not all that flavorful and tender. The desserts were delicious.
We have lived here most of our lives and never went to this landmark restaurant. We decided to try some place different for our anniversary. So, 1776 it was. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and attentive. The food was delicious and portions were nice size. We will definitely go back and we highly recommend 1776!!!
Delicious food and outstanding service!
Exceptional front of the house service. The food and atmosphere was great.
The food was excellent. This was our first visit and we’re sure to go back. My only issue was the noise.
Fantastic food and service! A bargain for a traditional steak house with dry aged prime beef and a well- stocked bar. Highly recommend!
It was great. These people really know steaks. Cooked perfectly. Worth the price. We will be back.
All aspects of the meal were fantastic. Wonderful flavor, perfectly cooked and friendly service.
Excellent food and service. The live piano music was an unexpected plus on a weeknight.
Seated immediately next to the piano. Considering the restaurant was virtually empty when we arrived a better table could have been selected. The piano music was lovely but not conducive to a relaxing dinner due to our close proximity. The food was very good but would I not consider this a positive experience.
Food was average at best. Very old fashioned steak house stuck in the 80s. Service was good. Bathrooms were old and dirty. There are so many better dining options in this area.
A perfect restaurant. Always great food and service. A great place for adults.
