We went for a Prix Fixe tasting menu of Filipino cuisine. Food was of very good quality , taste & flavors quite authentic & presentation was beautiful. Great value!

I tried the 4 course tasting menu with a group. It was a great value for the elevated food.
Creative touches to the food that surprised me and made me smile.

We had a 9 pm reservation on Saturday to try the Filipino tasting menu, and they were out of the large plate on the tasting menu, out of the only other Filipino dish on the a la carte menu, and out of 1of 3 of the large plates on the a la carte menu. Super disappointing and we felt there were not enough dishes left that we wanted to create a meal - so we left to go to another restaurant in the neighborhood. They did comp our wine and apologized a number of times, but it felt really disorganized, so we probably won't return.

The filipino tasting was delicious. Service is great. Server was very attentive and described every plate that was put on the table. Got to talk to the chef also. Great vibes great food.

The hamburger and fries are the best I’ve ever had. The bartenders are skilled mixologist. The service was top notch.

I hadn't been back to 1760 in a few years, and this is the first month or two that they had offered their $39 prix fixe menu. I opted to order a la carte because I wasn't feeling the prix fixe, and got the chicory salad, Brussels sprouts, crispy chicken and risotto. The food was fine - the portion of the crispy chicken was a lot smaller than expected - but nothing was extremely spectacular. I do miss the crispy duck sandwich that used to be on the menu.

The service was also okay - they came around a lot to refill our water glasses. But, there were a few times that people came to swoop our plates away without asking if we were fully finished with the meal. Also, once they had taken away our mains, nobody came around for quite awhile to check in on us or to offer dessert menus, so we had to proactively flag someone down to ask. It might have been an off night, but I didn't love anything and likely won't be back for awhile.

Entirely unsatisfactory experience. No wonder there were fewer than 15 people eating. The service was abysmal. My friend had to ask four times for a scotch on the rocks.
Ordered french fries did not come had to ask again.
Seating except for the booths is uncomfortable and spartan.
My hamburger was almost but not quite inedible. It was two patties very over done because the server said it could not be served rare. Why not? I don’t know. The bun was good. The steak for $32 came with some type of barbecue sauce that tasted like it was out of a bottle. At 7:30 they were out of the scallop entrée.
The chicory salad was underdressed and virtually tasteless.
The only dessert left was the cheese platter and one other. We decided to pass.
No reason whatsoever to return.
It was not expensive.

This restaurant used to be so great a few years ago, but I don’t know what happened.

The menu was small (snacks and mains) with a total of 10 options including desserts. We ordered 5 items between the snacks and the mains. Although the service was great and the staff was very friendly, the food came out in a random order. The scallops were overcooked and the hanger steak was cold and not very flavorful. Overall, the food was not very tasty. All of this not considering the high prices for each item. Really disappointed and would most likely never return unless they bring back the old chef/menu.

Service staff are a hit or miss. Some seem friendly but some seem super put out. We started with Brussel Sprouts (had too much fish sauce). My dining partner got the pre fixe menu with wine pairing. And I got the scallops. Portions are way too small for the price and the flavors are just okay, not extraordinary. Definitely NOT worth the price. I do not recommend this place for sure.

We went for Valentine’s Day. The food was good, but it was a pre-fixe menu and we didn’t love everything. Also, the portions were small and we didn’t think it was worth the expensive bill at the end.

The kitchen has gone downhill at this formerly favorite neighborhood hangout. It’s been a frequent favorite for several years. The menu was varied with a number of great small plates and something for everyone’s palate. The service has always been “informal”, with very nice servers who just are not at all attentive. But the food used to be first rate. The recent visit was a big disappointment. There were only three large plates, all of which were meat-based, which makes no sense when a large percentage of the diners today want fish or vegetarian. And the small plates which had been numerous and creative, had been dumbed down considerably. While the fish crudo and the grilled olives were tasty, they were the only interesting items on the small plate menu. We were surprised to find the restaurant only half-filled at 7:30. Now we know why.

Great food, we went with the Prix Fixe menu ($35 for 3 courses). Delicious pork chop was the main course. Wine pairing was excellent and fun. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and interesting. We would definitely go back.

All taste delicious. I recommend you feature such once a month but for one week only! Then we can enjoy throughout the year!

Only recommendation is pork chops are delicious just slightly tough to cut and chew for most part of chops.

I think you suvi it. But may be chop is thick and most don’t like pinkish pork so you had to overcook.

Quality pork is ok to eat pink.

One tip. May be pound the chops a bit before you do final sauté or grill ? Pounded thick chops will allow quicker cooking without overcooking. Hope you are not slighted by comments

Again am not chef. Your chef is excellent. Have been repeat customer and will continue.

The 3 or 4 course meal menu was confusing, very limiting and expensive requiring everyone to take dessert ultimately costing $200 per couple with overpriced drinks they kept pushing. We will not be returning.

Not a fan of the new fixed menu offering. Great value, but food quality was lower then with full menu. They need at least two options per course to satisfy all. My pork wasn’t very good, not served hot. Service (including wine) was excellent as always. I really hope the fixed menu isn’t permanent.

A great concept -- a limited menu at a reasonable price. Loved the courses, especially dessert -- best coffee ice cream ever! I was a little disappointed that the ribolito was pureed; I was looking forward to the more chunky style. That said, it was an excellent dinner. Beware though, if you bring your own wine, corkage is pricey ($30).

Since it’s opening 1760 has been creative and very high quality with food, wine & great cocktails. The new seasonal themes are terrific too. We are “regulars” because of the ethics, consistency and delicious dishes that 1760 people manage to offer. Spacious ambiance allows you to talk with a sense of privacy that’s rare in SF today. Great spot. Great food. Nice people! Enjoy!

I don’t do reviews. I really don’t care about critiquing restaurants. However, we were looking forward to some amazing food because 1760 is a highly rated, Micheline reviewed restaurant, which made us think the food would be great. Unfortunately, the food was awful. Not only was each dish on the pre-fixed selected menu absolutely distasteful, but it’s upsetting to have spent $190 on a meal when we could have made something at home that would have tasted better. I am never one to review, but as disappointing as that meal was I have to advise that if you’re deciding to eat somewhere in San Francisco, chose elsewhere.

The new prix fixe concept is not working. The soup was bland, the pork was so overcooked my wife couldn't chew through it, and the service was slow, inattentive and unapologetic--it took two hours to get through the four course meal. This was the worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time. So sad to see the restaurant degrade so quickly from what was a neighborhood gem to this.

They have changed to a fixed menu in the restaurant with really no options. Bar food is generally great with the exception of the overdone burger which we couldn’t eat. Brussels sprouts are best I’ve ever had!

Great way to explore a cuisine with their fixed price menu. Each course was well done. Excellent wine pairings.
We were there on a Monday after a major holiday and the restaurant was pretty empty. Unfortunately, they had the music cranked up very loud. We asked them to turn it down, which they did and then another staff member turned it up. Almost too loud to talk. Also would have appreciated more variety in the music. Not everyone loves rap.

We had dinner at 1760 on New Year's Eve which is probably not a good representation of their regular food and service, but also not a great reflection of their planning skills. They seemed seriously understaffed, with the hostess filling in for servers and bus-staff. I only saw 3 servers all night. It's not a big place but it was very busy this evening and they should have been better prepared. We had to wait to be seated, to get menus, to place the various orders, and we had to flag down our server to ask for the check. The food didn't take long to come and it was fairly good but the portions are tiny. The halibut was priced at $23 and it was basically two kid-size fish fingers with some beans underneath. It looked like an appetizer. The burger and fries took up the entire plate but it was just average (the bacon jam was probably the best thing about it). There were a lot of fries which I was able to steal to complement my nonexistent carbohydrate on the halibut plate. The menu isn't huge (only 5 main courses) so there weren't that many choices. They have bottled beer and cocktails. I had the Winter's Kiss which was nice but tiny and too expensive. Probably not coming back anytime soon.

My dinner companion enjoyed it, but I thought the food was just okay. Best dish was the scallops, things were a bit salty for my preference, and flavors were one-note. The dessert was interesting but I was really looking forward to warm flan, not frozen. It didn't have a good ambiance, lighting was too bright almost diner feel to it.

It's rare to find a restaurant where every dish is a hit. 1760 hit all the right notes. Food was great. Standouts were the fried olives, the octopus, potato and chorizo dish (put me right back in Barcelona), the hoisin ribs (!!) and perhaps the best, the brussels sprouts in a fish sauce emulsion. All of it was exquisitely prepared, and delicious. Dessert, too, was a knock-out - a deconstructed s'more with a hickory smoked ice cream. Service was warm, friendly, efficient, attentive but not invasive. Definitely a destination spot on Polk.
