What does modern, ingredient-driven mean? It’s a different approach to dining and drinking that arose from the way we like to eat. When we go out, we like to try many things, and often we will order an assortment of dishes for the table so we can all taste as much as possible. We get excited when we experience different approaches to food and different styles of drinks. The central theme to our quest; enjoy high quality ingredients that have been skillfully handled to allow the intrinsic quality, flavors, and textures to be expressed. Above all, it is our goal to offer all things delicious.
Great, overall! Super service and well-prepared. The scallops were exceptional, the halibut quite good but slightly overcooked. I think the main difference between "large" and "small" plates is actually more and less expensive, but I appreciate the smaller plates and the sharing of food. Only complaint is no beer on tap but they seem to specialize in cocktails. Would happily return!
friendly informative staff. Good food, nice happy hours appetizer specials and craft cocktails
Terrific food, great service, easy to get to location. What I love about this place is that the noise level is so reasonable. It's not a roar like so many restaurants. The food portions are very good, don't know who the chef is but the presentation and flavor combinations are so very enjoyable. A real treat, wine list is well rounded with not a huge markup. High end of the mid-range. Will definitely go back.
Terrible! This used to be my neighborhood restaurant but the food was awful. The short ribs were dry and cooked last week it seemed and clawingly sickly sweet. Food was delivered to the table nearly 10 minutes after ordering and before our bread(?). I’m so disappointed and don’t see myself bringing any guests back.
just an overall great experience! Perfect for date night
Service was very attentive. Ambiance was a bit on the loud side for a conversation. The food was flavorful and very well presented. Most dishes are tapas-size. Mixed drinks were unique and tasteful. Overall a good experience.
The best place we have eaten for some time, including restaurants 2-3 times the price. Everything was both interesting--even unique--and delicious. The quantities for family sharing are just right for four people and it is a very nice way to eat. The happy hour is worth getting an early start. Staff both professional and nice.
The food was ok! But the panna cotta was super good! The waiter forgot my food, so I had a few lumpia and I shared salad and everyone else had food. I told the waiter I didnt get it and he went to put it in but I told him its ok because everyone was done. He was very nice guy but just that one thing and important thing the meal.
Food was good but we had to ask for utensils
This was my first time at 1760. Saw a review on PBS and wanted to experience the restaurant. Had wonderful experience and would go back to the restaurant. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and efficient.
Interesting fusion cuisine well described by wait person. Noisy
Great service, atmosphere & food. We enjoyed the experience.
Great food and very good service. Variety of small plates is a good choice to share and try different options.
Loved the food presentation and cocktails. Noise levels a little high and service a little slow.
We tried seven dishes and they were all wonderful . Especially loved the beets, crispy chicken and frozen flan.
Roby and Anka were great
David and Erika
Great service and great meal celebrating my boyfriend's birthday. The duck-burger was a special treat that is not currently on the menu. Our server also recommended some great wine for a good value. Will definitely be back!
Good was tasty, portions were ridiculously small. This is not a gourmet restaurant where that might make sense. Ordered the scallops and literally got two. Two cut in half to look like four. This was a "large plate." My friends enjoyed their drinks though! So come for delicious bites but prepare to leave hungry, even having ordered several plates each as suggested.
This restaurant has been getting better and better. Our meal here a couple days ago was outstanding.
The food was amazing and the wine list was fantastic. Even the BTG selections were impecable. The people also make you feel like home. A must visit, away from the tourist buzz.
Very nice champagne list with good value on Mondays (20% off on bottles). The service was great and very tentative. We will come back!
Nice place, great service.
Food was excellent, creative, and came out really quick. The staff was very polite and helpful. The place was about 2/3 full when we went and it was not noisy. The atmosphere was casual but felt fancy. I'll definitely return here. I fell like everything I wrote is an understatement.
Every dish was incredible, specifically the ribs, seared scallops, and soft shell crab.
Great food, quality staff.
Decent food and outstanding bar. I asked for a drink that most bartenders simply blink at, but these guys could make it with their eyes closed - and they had all the ingredients too.
The service was very good. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable and the sommelier was also quite good. I recommend.
We had been here several times and enjoyed the food..it was different and interesting and tasty ( duck sandwich)
Now menu is boring, and 4 of us struggled as to what to order .
Nothing was awful,nothing was great
Food was tasty, beautifully presented. Wait staff was good humored, helpful, informative, generous with their time and added to our enjoyment. Sommelier was knowledgeable and fun and patient as 4 of us tried various wines to decide which we each wanted.
We were greeted warmly and shown to a quiet table which I had asked for.
I would return there.
Came here for a date night with my husband. The service was outstanding from the second we sat down. The waitress helped us by accommodating our dietary restrictions and made sure each dish was spaced out appropriately.
The wine Somm also helped us pick the perfect bottle for to pair with all the dishes we ordered
We look forward to going back again soon to try more of the menu
We had four people and it would be nice to get four scallops. Otherwise nice cocktails and delicious dinner.
Sat at the bar and the bartenders were rude. They barely looked up, were short with answers, offered zero information. Half of our order took forever (over 45 minutes) and when we asked he said it would be out in 2 minutes, 10 minutes later, nothing, so we had to cancel two items and he didn't apologize, comp some of the bill, nothing. Now I know why they have several reservations on a Saturday night available. Bummer.
Kind of weak menu with low quality dishes prepared with mediocre inspiration. Nothing special at all. Server was very good.
Love this place we go a lot.
As always chef Carl provided us with a wonderful meal and the manager David made us feel at home. The dishes are exquisite.
We had a selection of the small plates each coming out over time giving us a chance to enjoy each dish we were eating. Didn’t feel at all rushed to get through our meal, meaning we could really enjoy all the fantastic tastes in front of us. Staff were friendly & fun & really made us feel welcome.
Modern and a fresh take on comfort food! Worthy truly classic wine stewards!
service was very good and food was pretty good but not great. the brussel sprouts have way too much sauce on them - just roast them with a little salt or balsamic and call it a day. the creamy sauce defeats the purpose of ordering a vegetable.
cocktails were delicious as always
Tables were small and shaky. Put on it a big box of utensils and a bottle of water/wine, and there’s no room for the many shareable plates the restaurant encourages you to offer. Some of the apps were meh, but the burrata, short ribs, and pork belly helped us finish strong.
Food is excellent, truly creative and the vegetables extraordinary. The noise is what kills everything. I think this is the absolutely loudest restaurant in SF. All the glass and mirrors and steel magnify everything. We like to go early before most places fill up but by 7:00 the place is a roar.
This was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. I went with three friends for my birthday and we were welcomed with excellent service. The food was flavorful and the portions were perfect, allowing each of us to try a bite or two of several dishes. We ordered tons of food because it was so delicious. I loved the experience from start to finish. My tastebuds were thrilled and all four of us had a fantastic time at dinner. I can’t wait to return. Thank you 1760 for making my birthday even more fantastic than it already had been!
