Steakhouse
Gargantuan cuts of prime beef, extra thick chops, and simply prepared fresh seafood are the straightforward offerings of this steakhouse that evokes the supper clubs of Manhattan in the 1940's. Leopard print carpeting, black lacquered walls trimmed in brass and tuxedoed waiters complete the elegant atmosphere, featuring live piano and bass nightly. Dress code is business casual.

I love this restaurant and have been going here for years on a regular basis. Food and service always superb and a very classy atmosphere. Unfortunately there were two children whose parents indulged and encourage them in their misbehavior. They actually interrupted the professional piano player by banging on the end of the keyboard. It was rather horrifying and we were sitting right close to the piano. Felt so bad for the piano player.

The Prime Rib has always been one of my favorite restaurants. It can be pricey, however there is a way to keep the bill from soaring, I usually get the Prix Fix dinner for $55 and bring my own wine for a Sunday dinner after the Philly Pops matinee. It's one of the few restaurants left in Philly where you don't have to raise your voice to have a conversation with you dinner mates. In addition, they have a pianist who will take request to play your favorite songs. Parking is a breeze as they have a valet and the charge is $20.00. If you like prime rib, I think they have the best in town.

The Prime Rib never disappoints. Garth is the consummate host and always insures a gala evening. The pianist is the best in the business! Kudos to the operation in every respect.

Positives: The maitre d’ and wait staff were accommodating and attentive. The ambiance was wonderful and given it was Valentines Day it was busy and festive - the staff offered roses to my wife and son’s girlfriend.

Drinks and Appetizers: drinks were well made and delivered promptly, the appetizers, salads and pre dinner breads were outstanding - my wife’s crab cocktail was fantastic as were the crab cakes.

Negatives: on recommendation by our waiter, my son and I got the NY Strip and I was very disappointed - average flavor, was not tender and was thinner that you’d expect at a fine steakhouse. My wife had the fillet mignon and here’s too was average at best.

The ambiance and service may bring us back as service is #1 in our book, but we value food/taste/quality over ambiance so our return is questionable.

This is a (maybe) hidden gem of fine dining in Philadelphia. The food was EXCELLENT; The service was IMPECCABLE; & the atmosphere was quiet, dignified, romantic but still casual. The added bonus: the live piano playing old standards & soft piano-jazz. All in - you couldn't ask for more or better. If you want to indulge your inner "Daddy Warbucks", this is the place.
On the other hand: The cost is commensurate with the deliverables. Still, if you want to mark an important occasion & make it memorable - this will do it.

Have been going for decades. It is elegant, classy, phenomenal food and supper club setting. Most delicious prime rib ever of course. Best crab cake and crab cocktail with largest lumps of crabmeat you have ever seen. Great oysters. Wonderful salads. Must get potato skins. Shout out to our marvelous waiter Derrick. Awesome cocktails and affordable wine list including some great French wines. If you want to gave a great date night this is the place. My one beef( no pun intended) is that they need better wine glasses and need to make a point of offering cocktail and wine lists. Lovely piano and live music. Located in the Warwick Hotel Rittenhouse Square area. It’s not on the trendy radar list. They stick to tried and true classics of highest and best quality. Yum. Won’t be cheap but sooooo worth it.

It was my first time dining here. I will definitely be returning. Everything was outstanding. The drinks were delicious and the Prime Rib was outstanding. The bread...my god the bread was amazing! That’s what really hooked me. I’m a lover of breads. Our waiter was super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend eating here at least once. Definitely more than once too. You won’t be disappointed.

I have now been to the Prime Rib Philadelphia three times, and each time has been a great pleasure. The only caveat I would have is that all three of my visits has been either very early, at dining room opening, or very late, shortly before closing, so that there was minimal competition for service and noise levels were suppressed because of fewer guests, so that I cannot comment on how either service or noise would be with a full dining room. There is live music (singer/piano & bass) from 6:30 to 10, which can possibly be distracting/disturbing if seated close to the piano, but there are many tables far enough from the instruments to mitigate, if not eliminate, the music if desired. On the question of value, all three times I have been there was to take advantage of a special reduced price, which was a great value. The regular prices are less so, but the quality and presentation of the food and scrupulous attention to diner requests go far to justify the price. A truly memorable steakhouse.

My family and I came during restaurant week to celebrate my mom’s Birthday. The ambiance and food were wonderful. Especially loved the pianist for the evening. Our server seemed ‘unbothered’. He didn’t seem to enjoy himself or care if we enjoyed ours. He came right to our table and didn’t introduce ourselves, nor did he ever ask us for beverages. We had to ask for honey twice. He bought hot tea with no spoons. He just wasn’t attentive at all. I felt like we were bothering him. I definitely would like to return, but would not like him as a server.

Everything about it was great. It reminded me of the old Zanzibar Supper Club in the Bellvue. I've waited years to find someplace comparable, and this is it. We thoroughly enjoyed.

When I made my reservation I asked that it be a special dining experience since it my husband’s birthday. I was charge for 2 cups of their nasty coffee when it was offered to me as if it was complimentary. The table was too small and no arm room. My husband birthday celebration was horrible at this restaurant.

I went to the Prime Rib with my boyfriend for CCD's Restaurant Week. It came recommended by his best friend, and we both really enjoyed it!

It was quite cold outside, so we both decided to start with the tomato soup. It was piping hot, tasted very fresh, and the portion size was generous. I opted for the grilled salmon and my boyfriend chose the prime rib. All of the dishes come with green beans and mashed potatoes served family style. The salmon was perfect- it just melted in your mouth! The prime rib didn't look like it would taste so great when it came out, but it was really delicious and tender. I thought the mashed potatoes were okay, but the green beans were so tasty as they still had a bit of crunch to them.

Our server was nice- nothing remarkable, but no definitely no complaints either. The restaurant is BYOB, but we forgot our bottle at home, so that was a bit of a bummer. We ended the meal with key lime pie and creme brûlée, both of which were perfect. Just as we were wrapping up our main course, a very lovely woman arrived to play the piano, and it added the perfect touch to our evening. I would recommend paying them a visit!
