   We sat outside on a high top table overlooking the falls - absolutely gorgeous! The food was outstanding! Make sure to not pass in the biscuits. Firecracker shrimp and cocktails perfect. Very friendly service. Make sure to make a reservation, place fills quickly. So worth it!

   Not my first time there but my first 17 River Grille Brunch. Everything was excellent we had excellent service (don’t you live it when they bring all of your party’s plates at the same time?) really good quality food with some special touches. Not to be missed BISCUITS with HONEY BUTTER for the table.

   This was date night for my husband and I. We got a table overlooking the water which was great, but when I went downstairs to the restroom I saw another space that we’re excited to try next time. The food was great and even though I got something that I mistakenly ordered, our server Pete offered a redo. I keep my order and I’m glad I did. We’re definitely going back!

    Love the ambience of this restaurant, however…. I ordered the Thai steak and noodle salad with shrimp, which was good.  My hubby, ordered The Cobb salad minus the blue cheese, and it looked like a very sparse side salad. Just a small plate of lettuce with a little bit of bacon on top. Disappointing!

    My friend and I arrived early for lunch to ensure a table with the waterfall view...spectacular! The food was excellent and our server Hailey was perfection. She was attentive and thoughtful, and made sure our experience was a good one.

    Pricey but worth every penny! Delicious roasted artichokes appetizer, lobster bisque & onion soups, and crispy chicken salad (which they even split for us) were exceptional! Excellent service plus patio view of the falls a big plus! What more could you ask for?

    We were seated in the lower level which is open to a view of the Falls. Magnificent! The food and the service were outstanding. This is definitely one of the best restaurants around for food, service and ambiance.

    Server was great, very friendly. Unfortunately I was served fish that was not completely cooked. Being the special of the day, the server immediately took my dish to the kitchen to replace it in rapid fashion. However, the kitchen staff dropped the ball taking 25 minutes to replace my meal. This was long after my wife had finished her meal, ruining the evening. The manager had little to say about the issue and no refund was offered. For a bill of $144.00, I was not happy. This is a location requiring a 45 minute drive for us. I will reconsider this location in the future.

    Food is really good, drinks are good, and the ambience and environment is basically perfect. The prices aren’t “cheap” but are definitely reasonable for what you’re getting, especially compared to other restaurants. The river and waterfall is right there. Not every seat has a view but the vibe is still generally really nice and there is a viewing deck. Really nothing to complain about, would 100% love to eat here again.

    I was disappointed for several reasons. Where we were seated was terribly noisy due to a loud group next to us, and was difficult to have a conversation. I also don't care for the type of table we sat at, which is like a big picnic table with no table cloth. Not sure why some tables have a cloth and others don't. Not a fan of that idea. Fortunately, our service was very good and Brooke was very attentive. Our meal was tasty but the mashed potatoes were cold. I was surprised at how busy it was at 5:30pm. We have had better experiences at 17 River Grill in the past and had not been there for at least a year. I liked it as Jekyll's much better.

    We’ve made reservations here several times for special occasions. We have consistently found the host staff to be uninterested at best in accommodating requests or recognizing the significance of special occasions. Most recently, we were celebrating a milestone birthday and had requested in advance a table with a view. We were told they would try to accommodate that, but couldn’t guarantee. When we arrived, there was a vacant window table, but we were told we had to sit outside if we wanted a view. They said we could sit next to a heater outside, but they never turned the heater on and it did not work when we asked for it to be turned on. Two people had to come and work on it and eventually got it working. This is just one example of the, lack of care from the host staff. Our server and the food were excellent. So for special occasions, I would recommend going somewhere where they actually make you feel special.

    As usual 17 River is a good idea to enjoy good food, nice ambiance and the spectacular view of the Chagrin River falls. The manager came to greet us at our table and sent dessert-on the house- for one of our kids since it was his birthday that day, and during his conversation with us that came up.     The food quality was below par. I’m in the hospitality field and travel the country. The service was average and it appears the draw is very much the area and view. I’m disappointed not expecting 4 or 5 star but hoping for a solid good experience overall. Just wasn’t there.
