15th Street Fisheries Ratings and Reviews
First and most, the staff was super courteous and professional.
The food was blah. I had the salmon which was nothing out of this world on a bed of bland rice and a sauce that looked like canned soup.
My friend had the shrimp and grits for appetizer, the shrimp were extremely sweet. Gross! He also had the king crab legs which he loved but the side of mashed potatoes was cold and hard. The only delicious part was dessert. Not worth the price for the quality of food.
We had a large party of 12, despite having three servers working with us, the attention wasn’t quite there. The food took longer than expected, even for a large party. The variety of delicious breads kept us occupied. The sea bass is one of their signature dishes, and for good reason! It was unbelievable!
Upstairs is fine dining with a varied menu. Unfortunately, there is no simply prepared, fresh fish. The tuna tartar app is very good as is the shrimp with grits (although presenting the whole shrimp is unnecessary and annoying). Best things were the service, the great view, and the quiet. The restaurant is a bit expensive.
This is the upstairs, more formal space, of
the restaurant. The building is interesting and broken up into smaller spaces so the noise level is low. The service was very attentive. My adult sons both enjoyed their dinners and desserts. I had fish with a lemon sauce which sounded light but was actually kind of a heavy sauce that I thought masked the flavor of the fresh fish. Perhaps it was just too rich for my tastes, but my dinner did not settle well. This is a nice place for a special occasion but a bit pricey for everyday dining. I would definitely like to try the downstairs, more casual restaurant next time. It seems more lively but does not take reservations.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. Prior to this visit, I was there 5 years ago when I lived in Fort Lauderdale. Back then the food was amazing, the bread was to die for, in fact, they had someone walking around with a basket of bread asking what type you want and the prices were expensive but not insane.
This visit I ordered the risotto special with lobster and scallops. The price was $45 and it was just ok. The risotto was very buttery, the lobster meat was equivalent to a baby lobster and there was hardly any scallops. The bread was sparingly and not many varieties and we were not sure who our waiter was as they keep shifting. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Our bill was $365 for that price you expect quality service and food. We went away hungry as the food was not plentiful.
Though we've been to their first floor a number of times this was our first time on the second floor.
The first floor is your typical pub style setting with lots of tables on the water.
The second floor is much more upscale with prices on the level of the most expensive restaurants in the area.
I would not go there regularly, but once in a while for a special occasion it is worth it.
I have celebrated important dates on this restaurant with friends and family and the menu is great. The view is outstanding of Fort Lauderdale bay. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone celebrating something important or just wanting to eat well and have an awesome time.
We were happy with everything until the check arrived. It was asked if there was a celebration this day and a dessert with candle was brought out. On the check was a charge for the dessert. Been to much nicer places and have never been charged for a birthday dessert we didn’t ask for. We did order other desserts. That won’t happen again. Disappointed.
