Excellent as always. It's been about 5 years since my last visit due to living too far away and not having time to make it to 1515 when I've been in town. The owners are retiring and closing the restaurant, so I made sure to come in one more time and I'm so glad I did! The food, staff, service, and ambiance were just as great and high quality as the first time I found this place many years ago and came in regularly with my now ex. So great to stay on a high note all the way through!
Great little downtown restaurant. We are going to miss it after it closes next weekend. Happy retirement to the owners!
Truly a disappointment. I am so surprised it was rated one of the best tasting menus in Denver. No vision for the menu and poor execution in every dish. An owner who checks on us with every course and made it too uncomfortable to say anything negative to. Weird 1970s rock music playing. Wine pairings and one was a Josh Cellars.
Amazing food quality! Service was also on point. Not many people in the restaurant but as good as it was it should have been packed.
Great place great food, a must visit. Great place great food, a must visit.
We were seated at a great table by the fireplace. The setting was quiet and attended to well by our server. The Chef Owner Gene Tang visited and greeted our guests. I was impressed he read the reservation lists and knew us by name. A must get is the Wagyu Beef appetizer where you can cook your own beef and shrimp on hot rocks with a dipping sauce....a Rockstar dish (pun intended). The mixed grill plate was Steller. The chef was attentive to a guest with a food allergy and paid a personal visit to make sure all was ok...what a great find in Denver with an amazing wine list and superb staff.
Food lacked flavor. Mussels/french fries appetizer was the best thing we had. Entrees were both disappointing.
Love this restaurant. Always fantastic. Thank you Gene and Paula
First time at 1515 for us after considering it many times. We were there during Restaurant Week on a snowy night. The food was good and the value, due to Restaurant Week, was great. The owner or manager made 2 visits to our table to welcome us and apologize for a small mistake. Nothing spectacular, but a solid dining experience.
Honestly, the worst steak I’ve had in a restaurant in a long time. I opted for the Restaurant Week SousVide steak. Cheap cut of meat with an attempt to make it edible via sousvide. It was a failure.
We felt like we were on a bad Gordon Ramsey show... the bread was stale, the service was sub par and the food wasn’t even close to worthwhile. I understand it is was restaurant week and everyone is busy, but if this is any representation of the restaurant then I have no intention of going back.
Trout undereasoned, maybe was only seasoned with salt so I had to ask for more buerre blanc to "flavor" it. Parmesan rice cake was just ok, but rice could have been a little more tender. Mixed veggies were delicious however.
We were put in the back room and that is not nearly as cozy as the front room with the exposed brick wall. The site said you can park at PF Changs for $8. It actually cost me $12 plus a $5 tip to park there. Park in the lot across the street from the restaurant. They will validate your parking receipt for that lot.
Most of the food is delicious here. I did not like my steak, though as it had a lot of gristle in it.
Sous vide steak was bleh. But it could just be that that style of steak is not for me. Service was good just an underwhelming menu at $35 a person
The service was great, the food was not. Went there on Friday for restaurant week. I had the rattle snake/rabbit sausage which was pretty good. I then had the buffalo short ribs which had little edible meat and bland. The best part about this was the sweet potatoes. I probable will not return to this establishment for another dinner.
Returning for sure! Restaurant Week Denver brought this lovely place to ouyr attention. We dine out about every 2 weeks; and we tend to return to places we`ve been before. So Restaurant Week is a huge enticement to expand our places to go to. I loved what I ate & drank. And besides the dishes we tasted, I` m now intrigued by the regular menu. Tasting menus are right up our alley. And with wine pairings!! we'll definitely return often.
We really enjoyed our experience for restaurant week. The price fix menu is very good with lots of options. We had the steak and the buffalo ribs. Both very good. We left completely full. The bottles of wine are good options as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
The service and food were terrible. Our waiter was helpful in the beginning of the meal but once our main course came out he never stopped at our table again, other staff cleaned our plates, served dessert and took care of the bill. The food was a huge disappointment, absolutely not worth the price. The apps were tiny, the mains were ok but not flavored well. My steak was bland and my creamed spinach had way too much nutmeg. The side Parmesan rice cake was horrifying, literally the most disgusting thing I’ve ever tasted. We talked to the manager about the awful rice cake, she brought out a sloppy plate of mash potatoes to replace it and made excuses for why it tased so bad. She did not offer to comp the meal or offer a discount of any kind. We will not be back, there are too many great restaurants in Denver to waste our time and money here.
Great meal for Restaurant Week 2019! Excellent service, food portions just right for me! I'll return and bring my wine loving friends.
The steak was improperly cooked and soggy in texture; the wine was unpalatable. The service, however, was excellent.
Meat was super tender, appetizer’s were excellent.
Nice ambiance sort of. Don't like the stairs. Metal music in the white table cloth dinner room. Ehhh. With a Potpourri feature sign. Do I need to say more. Meal was ... Decent value for Restaurant Week.
THE FOOD AND SERVICE WERE EXCELLENT! I REALLY ENJOYED OUR DINING EXPERIENCE AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND 1515 ERSTAURANT
Came in before an Av’s game so we were there early and did the Restaurant Week menu.
Between the two of us we had the 1515 house salad, the rabbit/snake sausage, Piedmontese steak and bison short ribs. Creme brûlée for dessert.
Everything came out on time and was excellent.
Theresa was our server and she was very friendly and attentive.
Was not aware until we arrived that dining area was on 2nd floor. No elevator, but steep stairs. We were able to eat in the 1st floor bar area. Not much atmosphere. Plus cold coming in from front door. The bartender was our waiter. Very attentive. Food was good. My soup should have been hotter. All in all an okay experience in a city with so many choices.
Our expectations were very high but unfortunately, just the opposite occurred. The entry into the restaurant from the street was very dark with a bar and a couple of tables. Upstairs it was much better with two dining rooms. We were seated in the rear dining room and though there was a cozy fireplace, it was blocked by the many tables in the way. I had to ask several times for a candle for our table and when that came it only had a pin-point glow. Battery was running out. Couldn't get our waitresses attention so I asked my husband to grab one off another table which was vacant, which he started to do but the waitress came to the rescue with a different candle that was much brighter. My husband ordered the price fix menu was 10 times better then my a la carte dinner (and $$$) off the regular menu. I ordered lobster Thermidor at $40 but what came was not what I remember lobster Thermidor to be. It was a lot like a stew of mushrooms in a heavy beefy gravy with about 5 little pieces of lobster. The dish had no lobster flavor at all. It had been years since I had made lobster thermidor, but I was pretty sure there weren't any mushrooms or heavy beef gravy involved. I should have complained but I didn't, not wanting to send the dinner back as my husband was really enjoying his. When I got home I immediately looked it up and found what they were serving was lobster Newberg which does have mushrooms. Horrible dinner! Service slow, and with the tables so close together, not much ambience either.
Food could have been warmer. The restaurant had no information regarding our reservation despite me bringing the confirmation number with me from open table and had to wait a little bit till they sorted it out.
Don't know if it was because it was restaurant week but food was very unimpressive. I had the risotto and found it very under seasoned and bland, like a pile of mush with some vegetables on top. Boyfriend had the short ribs and said they were fine, but nothing special. The best part was the sweet potato mash. The service was pleasant and efficient, and our server comped my wine when I expressed disappointment with the food which was nice.
We went for restaurant week, so perhaps they weren’t quite as on it as they are for regular service/menu, but the food wasn’t memorable and therefore we don’t plan on going back.
The food is overpriced and underwhelming. The service was the standout. And a great wine selection
Food tasted like it was microwaved, untinsels were grungy and chipped away, a fake fancy dining experience. Would never recommend. Wish I could get my money back for the worst dining experience of my life
I had a great dinner with my girlfriend who become my finance after dinner ended. The rose was a nice touch and the set menu helped keep the focus on us as a couple. Thank you.
1515 used to be one of our favorite places, but the food quality has gone way down hill. My husband and I went for Valentine's day and had the $70 Valentine's menu. I had the red trout and he had the beef. Mine was totally flavorless, I mean completely. The beef was 10,000 times better, but still fell short to the standard 1515 set a decade ago. The food used to be exciting with a million flavors. The appetizer soup was luke-warm with little flavor. There were hoards of chairs stacked in the dining area and bugs in the light fixtures. Many bugs. With the options Denver has for fine dining now, we won't be back.
Fantastic meal!!! Our large group was hosted by 1515’s incredibly attentive staff. Highly recommend the restaurant for creative and different fare — not your typical steak house, though top tier steak house quality!
The building has cool features. Their drink menu is an ipad and they have an extensive wine list. There was a loud table near us that was a little bothersome and affected the ambiance. We had the lamb appetizer, which was very fresh and delicious. I had the fettuccine with shrimp and my date had the Berkshire pork. Both were great. We also got the chocolate mousse and Elvis dessert and the presentation was pretty.
Great service and food was tasty. Good wines. Nice atmosphere.
We went for nye and let me tell you- the fixed menu was so delicious. I cannot wait to come back and try the normal menu offerings. Service was OUTSTANDInG! Seriously the most pleasurable dining experience I’ve had in a long time
Wow!!! My husband and I ate here for our 22nd Anniversary and it did not disappoint. Gene and his staff went out of their way to make our dinning experience exceptional. The lobster pops and French onion soup were a great start but the lamb with couscous was EXCEPTIONAL!! We topped off dinner with the Elvis dessert complete with candied bacon. The wine menu was incredible and diverse but the maple bourbon smash was my favorite.
We will definitely be back!
Dinner was last minute for our company office holiday dinner. Could not have asked for a better night! Quiet, nicely set table, and dining area. We felt like it was a private dining area since there was no loudness and they sat us in the place I hoped for. Our waiter Johnson was awesome, knowledgeable on wine and food and gave us the best suggestions! The courses were very good, enough food and you never really had to ask for anything :) the best part besides our waiter was the owner and his sweet wife! So pleasant and they both came and talked with us! I am highly recommending the restaurant on every aspect. Even the temp was perfect, music low and nicely decorated. Thanks for a great night!
