15 East Restaurant
Excellent food! the Tuna omakaze is a favorite!
Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Great service and overall very good food. Sushi was good but there are places with better quality within the same price range. Cost came to about 320 without the tip which was very reasonable. Would go again for the hot dishes and service alone. Also the Fuji Apple dessert was one of the best treats I have ever had!!
Amazing sushi, excellent service.
We made a reservation and were asked to leave because the next reservation was waiting for our table. How incredibly rude after spending an incredible amount of money on our dinner. Also the salmon entree that we ordered came out completely cold. It was absolutely disgusting
So So delicious. Fun setting, great service, and as always very fresh. I love to recommend this restaurant and at the same time I wish I could keep it all to myself because I want to make sure I can always get a table- it’s that good.
Best sushi in New York City
Extremely pleasant as always. By far our favorite sushi restaurant in the city.
I think this is the best sashimi and sushi in NYC.
What a wonderful dining experience. The staff was amazing, the ambiance was mellow, with a terrific sound track. The food was sublime. I can't wait to share this gem.
Excellent. Simple. Unpretentious. I loved the sushi bar experience of having the sushi chef hand me one piece at a time. No nonsense of ruining the sushi pieces with self serve soy sauce or wasabi. If you worry about having something you won’t like then get a table and order a more traditional meal.
Very delicious food. Always high quality sushi. The toro was very good but the sashimi slices are minuscule! Main reason for the some 4 star ratings. Service was top notch. My waiter was kind and thoughtful. Even noticed my husband was left handed for sushi placement
Best sushi in new york. Great wine list as well
The food hasn’t flavored and so expensive. Low quality
The portion very smaller!!!!
and the service was bad and slowly....
The ambience was so crowded and the music higher
Super good food &super nice staff
Omakase at the sushi bar was exceptional. Excellent service.
Everything but the food was very nice. Unfortunately everything was dry and tasteless.
It was a good restaurant. Food was good, staff was attentive and friendly, almost to a fault. However, I feel that I paid far too much for what I got. The food was simple and yummy, but not worth the high price tag. I understand the whole idea of the restaurant is the Omakase which I didn't get, but even the Omakase would have been far too pricey for ok sushi. I get better sushi in my hometown of Denver.
Amazing food. Overall experience was excellent.
Great food and great service from John and Miguel!
The hot soba soup and risotto are to die for.
Omakase selection was bland and uninspired, could have had this meal at another place for 1/3 of what it costs.
Consistently excellent service and food. Always the best ingredients. The Kumamoto oysters are the best.
Extremely good, high-end Japanese food. Only downside was slight odor of bathroom cleaning fluid upon entering.
My son’s send off to sleep away camp! As always, a wonderful dining experience. We’ve been coming to 15 East since it first opened...it is our Japanese home away from home...thank you! Andrea, Derek and Sam
Great menu and the food was excellent. Had not been before but will be going back
The most delicious Japanese meal I’ve had in a long time!
Loved how especially calm and quiet the noise level and the atmosphere was. It's a definite oasis away from the hustle and bustle for a fancy lunch.
The quality of the fish is superb.
I'm already thinking about visiting again.
I love this restaurant! Whenever my sister is in town we go there for dinner. Never ever had anything but fresh and delicious food. Beautiful presentation and original style. Great wine list. Worth every penny. My sister was celebrating her birthday so they sent out a divine and decadent dessert. What a perfect night.
I’ve been going to 15 East regularly and it remains in my view a gem in the city. This is some of the best sushi you will have in the US and the simplicity and elegance of the atmosphere makes the experience timeliness.
Prices have gone up. Selection is low. Won’t be back
My third time here. Again, impeccable service, beautifully presented, high caliber ingredients, in a serene and comfortable environment.
Again and again simply the best! Superb food and elegant service...
Allow about $300/head for dining. Thats what two of us spent & my guest wasn’t even drinking. I had the house saki. Its good but its expensive for what it is.
15 East is our favorite sushi spot; full stop. It has the freshest fish , prepared with the utmost care, the service is super professional and attentive. It surpasses many other famous sushi places through quality and decency. I highly recommend it.
I travel a lot to Japan and have eaten in a lot of very high-end sushi restaurants. The quality of the fish, the presentation, and the service at 15 East makes it our favorite sushi place in New York (at its price point or even when paying $100 per head more). No other place comes close.
The food is delicious, but it's just so expensive that I ultimately think it isn't worth it.
Not sure it delivers any value proposition and the staff does a poor job helping to understand portion size ("Is this for one or two people" got a shrug and a "depends" reply.
Quality of the fish was incredible. Served slightly more elegantly than what you are used to
Our super favorite place !
Amazing dinner last night at 15 East. The Kumamoto Oysters in Ponzu granita with pickled radish kicked it off nicely followed by the richness and melt in your mouth smoked Berkshire kurobuta. The charcoal grilled gindara was delicious! And of course the sashimi omakase was to die-for, in particular the aburi oh-toro, Sakuramasu and the akamatsu. I am still thinking of how they melted in my mouth! And to cap it - mineoka, milk sesame pudding with kurosato syrup topped with almond tuille. Truly one of the best!
And dining rewards from OpenTable foot part of the bill. Can’t ask for more.
Beautiful restaurant. Good service. Tasting menu quality and taste not in line with price. A very mixed bag. Very fatty and odd tasting sashimi and sushi mixed with delicious options. After first course was inedible and replaced with a delicious tuna tartar, we questioned the waiter about future tasting menu courses as we were considering changing our order. We were told lean and specific options for future courses that we were not given. The egg dish, soup and dessert were delicious. Although the meat in one of our soups was very fatty. Some pieces of sashimi were incredible. The rice was not great and the sushi fell apart when eating. But on balance at $195 per person, the overall experience was very disappointing. There are much better quality restaurants , especially at this price.
