Brunch: Saturday & Sunday: 11:00am - 3:00pm
Service was very slow. Food and value was excellent. The air conditioner chucking on an off was very loud and way too cold
Waiter was excellent and food even better!! Margarita’s were amazing! Can’t wait to return!!
As always the food was fantastic. Every time I dine here, I try a different menu item. I've never been let down. If you like cocktails, try the Mojitini, delicious. Also try the coconut rice as a side dish.... even more tasty. Servers have always been friendly and usually fun.
We chose 1492 before a show at the Civic Center. The food was wonderful as usual and the proximity to the show was great.
I love this place! It has regular Mexican dishes or more Latin inspired dishes for those looking for something a little more daring. The service has always been great, and I love being able to make reservations.
The food was excellent. I was a little disappointed in my drink -- specialty mule -- that I ordered. The cup was not full, actually felt like it was just sort of thrown together. I am pretty sure the bartender was not there the time we were there and our waiter fixed our drink. Seemed to be doing a little bit of everything, so maybe there wasn't a lot of care taken with our drink. We've been here several times with no issues, so I won't let this experience keep us from going again. The food is unique and very tasty!
Request: sweet tea
Always good service and food. Their beef fajitas have an outstanding flavor!
I had the sea food enchiladas. Fantastic. I had two different kinds of queso which were each also fantastic. What more needs to be said.
Great place for a date. Food was amazing and the cocktails were well crafted and worth the price.
Excellent food and service!
Enchiladas were vg and so was service
Did not seem to be adequately staffed for Cinco De Mayo. But food was good and prices were great- we found out after some of the food we ordered was on special(was not told at introduction). Best chips and salsa around and very easy to order vegan/vegetarian here.
My husband and I went on a Friday night. The place was pretty full and quite loud. Our server was very informative and we didn't feel rushed, the food was very tasty. We shared the Ahi ceviche which could have been a little spicier but overall good.
Then we got the fish enchiladas and Cuban carne asada, both were very generous servings and well prepared. The yucca fries were a little dry, a dipping sauce of spicy mayo or Huancaina sauce like they serve them in Peru would have been good. The plantains were so good.
Enjoyed our evening and would come back.
The bartender should not have to double as a server for that area as it results in very slow and subpar service. The other dining area doesn’t seem to have that issue.
Food was fantastic! Waitress was great and knew the menu and made lots of suggestions! Excellent experience! Can’t wait to go back!!
Always wonderful. Thank you Paul for your excellent service.
Extremely loud. Impossible to carry on any type of conversation. Food was ok but nothing special.
Nick and the other bartender (can't remember his name) are the best around.
terrific spot for dropping in -- almost DAILY-- for a great meal! Thanks, Richard!
I love this restaurant and the Midtown neighborhood.
1492 seemed like a good place to enjoy Easter brunch. Unfortunately, we were seated at a table in the bar (next time I will specify wanting regular dining area seating). The TV and the drunken, boisterous bar patrons doing shots made it feel more like a sports bar than a nice place to enjoy the holiday. The bar patrons, who all seemed to be together, were so loud that it made having conversation at our table difficult due to inability to hear each other speak. One waiter seemed to be responsible for attending to all diners in the bar area. This dining area was full, and so he was a little less than ideally attentive due to being very busy. He was very professional though. The food, as always, was very good. I was a little disappointed to see the Pabellon is no longer on the menu. We will definitely go back. We just won’t sit in the bar area. They do have very good cocktails.
The food was excellent but on this evening our service was terrible. Beginning with messing up the drink order, Iced tea and a margarita turned into sangria and margarita. The queso was not correct, we asked for no pico and small plates for the queso never materialized. It took 50 minutes to get our entree after the queso. The server said a large (8) parties order was placed ahead of ours and it slowed the kitchen down. The party of 8 was seated 15 minutes after us. It was not only our table she had trouble with, the table next to us had to wait on flatware after their food arrived. If this had been our first experience at 1492 we would not have returned.
Great food great staff great atmosphere
Great food and service nice place for dinner before attending a downtown event. Make sure and save room for dessert. Loved the Sopapilla’s.
The queso and margaritas were amazing! Tacos were decent, soggy but not bad. What was really annoying about this place is that the waiters kept bumping our chairs and table and didn’t even care not to do it. Also, by the time we were eating dessert around 08:30pm a guy comes out with his vacuum to clean the area and made it really loud on top of the loud music playing, even though there was still plenty of people still dining in the restaurant.
Long wait for food, really long. But waiter was great and the food was really good once we got it.
Very good (and very strong) perfect patron margaritas! The salsa was very spicy, not a fan of the chips because they were really thick. The brisket tacos were amazing!
I know that are other amazing items on the menu, however, I can’t get past the El Chicano. Outstanding!
Excellent carne asada! The combination of flavors are fenomenal. I will definitely return again to continue trying the rest of the menu. Keep up the good work!
Ps: I use open table for the reservation and it has been the best app I ever have to do reservation. I strongly recommended!!
Overall, it was a nice experience and I’m sure I will dine there again.
First impression wasn't great. Made a reservation through open table and when we showed up at the time of our reservation they asked us if we would sit at the bar instead of a table, then spent 5-10 minutes talking about other reservations that were 45 minutes to an hour and a half away. While they were figuring out how to get us a table for 2, she asked if she could help the next person who also ended up having a reservation for 2, yet however their table was ready and they took them right back. What? We were sat a couple minutes later in the dining room where I counted 8, yes 8, empty tables of varying sizes, that were empty when we sat down and were still empty when we left. The food was ok, my wife's tacos were bland, but the enchilada was great. I had the fajita chicken/steak mix, the chicken was good but the steak was terrible. It was rubbery and chewy and not even cut all the way through to put in a fajita. I also ordered a margarita that was pretty good.
Was a very nice meal before the symphony.
Enjoyed the street tacos for something not so heavy. I have always the seafood options mixed with latin.
This visit was for a birthday dinner, but special occasion or not, I never regret going to 1942!! Delicious food and attentive service.
Valentine Day dinner with spouse. The attentive service really stood out.
Food was amazing, good music they play surprised they had reggeaton playing
Valentines dinner, was excellent and Hector was at his best as usual.
The food was delicious. The service was fabulous. They brought out my boys meals out first without me asking and that was fantastic. We were a big group and they brought our food out quickly.
Went at 2 on a Sunday and they closed at 3 so the food was a little cold and looked remade on certain things.
