1492 New World Latin Cuisine - Casady Square
Dinner: Monday - Thursday: 5:00pm - 10:00pm, Friday & Saturday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm, Sunday: 5:00pm - 9:00pm
Brunch: Saturday & Sunday: 11:00am - 3:00pm
Don’t bother...the actual menu in no way resembles what you see online. They offer great sounding entrees like “beef or chicken” enchiladas.’ This place is tired, whoever owns it has given up. Time to close.
Great service and food was yummy!
1492 is our favorite place for unique Tex-Mex food! It never disappoints. The service is outstanding just like the food. They offer delicious cocktails too!
Great food and service. Highly recommend if want something a little different from tex-mex cuisine but like that type of food.
Seniors Sarah is an excellent waitress!!
The seafood enchiladas are unbelievable! I have had them twice now and it never disappoints. The chicken fajitas had so much flavor. The single portion is more than enough for two hungry people. We will certainly be back over and over again!
1492 on Britton has very good food and mediocre drinks in an environment that is less than desirable.
The main dining area is smallish yet wide open. There is a bench that runs the full length of one wall, and tables and chairs are situated all along the bench. Then there are a dozen or so tables interspersed around the dining area. You can hear your neighbors’ conversations with little effort, and I thought it was tough to carry on a conversation when people nearby were ordering. It was clean, and the decor is nice, but the setup is distracting for sure.
We had the fajitas. The steak fajitas were very good, and the chicken was a tad dry but tasty. The corn tortillas were fantastic. We also had a few drinks. My wife ordered the club special, and we sent it back. The margarita was decent, and the mojito was subpar.
All in all, 1492 was good but not great.
Wonderful food and a wonderful time
Best meal yet at this place
I love 1492! The service is exceptional and the food is amazing.
We split their double chicken fajitas and it was so much food. There was just two of us and probably 4 people could have split it. The chicken was very good. The queso blanco is good queso if you like white queso. We had them put ground beef in it. But it usually comes with chorizo...if you want it. Service was good and friendly.
This was our second time at this location. We had been here once before with the whole family and the food was not too great. But we decided to give it another shot and I’m glad we did. The fajitas were very good.
Although our server was tending bar for the entire restaurant she also was waiting our table for food orders as well. She remained cordial and attentive and patient while we made decisions. The food however we felt not up to the usual level of taste we had at the midtown location. The 1492 queso was not as flavorful as previously we enjoyed. My stuffed pork shoulder was cooked to a perfect tender quality but lacked any real pizzazz of taste. I salted it twice and also added some salsa to give it some life. Hubby reported his brisket taco was equally average. Too bad for this 2nd location of a restaurant we had enjoyed so much in the original spot. Maybe they need to revisit the original and get seasoning pointers?! I hope so. It’s always nice to see an expansion location do well.
I'm from Houston Texas and when we moved to Oklahoma good Mexican food was hard to find. We have tried them all. 1492 has the best beef fajita meat that we have found. Good value. Fajitas for one are more than enough for me and my daughter to share. The servers are always very friendly and efficient.
Our server is awesome and very helpful during any of our requests. Amazing food!
Great experience m. We have been to 1492 several times, always enjoy it.
Staff was friendly and our waitress was exceptional.
The food was overpriced for what it was. The drinks were average. And the ambiance was not very good. They really need to address the odor that is in the bathroom, they have some sort of sewer leak. I enjoyed my experience at the mid-town location a lot better, even though it was still overpriced. Would not recommend going back to Casady Square location.
1492 never disappoints! Superb food and impeccable service.
Everything was very good. Only thing was there was a certain smell when we walked in and when we sat down. It smelled kind of nasty.
We love eating at 1492 in Midtown but it was booked for Cinco de Mayo so we made a reservation at the Casady Square 1492. This was our first time there. The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere, but Saturday night, May 5th, they were slammed for Cinco de Mayo and evidently not prepared. We ordered a round of drinks before ordering our meal and they came with no problem. We ordered our meal and I personally ordered some queso and requested it be delivered before our meal. Well, I never got my queso at all, before, during or after meal. We also ordered another round of drinks that never came. The food was delicious but we barely even saw our waiter, Alfredo, again that night except to bring us our check. Tables around us were getting their queso and their drinks, but for some reason we weren't. I don't totally blame Alfredo but the service that night was horrible. We're not sure if we will ever go back to that particular location.
We have dined here often and had a wonderful experience until tonight... Horrific experience, waited over one HOUR to receive our drink, which was NOT the drink we ordered. We will never return.
Waiter was amazing. He was knowledgeable of the menu, very pleasant, smiled, and was attentive but not pesty. He checked on us occasionally as we spent time visiting during our meal and we never felt rushed. The atmosphere was enjoyable and I loved the decor.
We really enjoyed the restaurant! The choices and the food were excellent! We had a great meal for 4 for $48+ tip. (We just happened to all order water). The food was outstanding for the price! If I have a negative, it was the noise level. It was difficult to hear at times. All in all, I would definitely go back!
Come here often. Food was exceptional today
Delicious! Loved that is was quieter than the location off of Western. The original queso is a must!
While We enjoy 1492 in mid town this was not a good experience. Service and food were terrible. I won’t be returning. Very excited to learn the Casady location existed since it is closer. But left not having enjoyed the experience.
Great Food, Great Service and great value. The margarita was very good too.
Delicious as usual, and had the Thunder special!
Good food and great service.
Food was amazing, menu choices awesome and service was perfect!!!!
Food was good but tepid. We had the duck enchiladas and chimichanga. The guacamole was great. Service was good.
We were expecting the experience to be equivalent to the 1492 located downtown. Unfortunately it was not nearly as nice. More appropriate for a quick bite after work versus a date night. We made a reservation and when we arrived the restaurant was barely occupied. They sat us in the bar which was fine until the bartender got busy. Had to wait awhile to get our check. Overall still a good night. Just different than we expected.
We were seated right away and our server was prompt and attentive. The food was good and affordable.
Kind and attentive service. Meal was only mediocre which is not what I’ve experienced when dining at the Midtown location.
Oh,my! First time at this location. Service was fantastic. Food was so good. Sangria was some of the best! Already planning a second visit.
1492 has great Mexican food. Chips & salsa are very good and if you like Queso, you should definitely order some here. If you order the white or the gold, you won't be disappointed. Always great food and service.
Excellent chips and queso. The fajita they use for the fajita salad is fantastic. They also know how to make a great margarita!
We had a 7:00 reservation on Sunday and got there on time. Unfortunately, the doors were locked and no one was there. The sign on the door clearly stated that they were open on Sundays. I called the downtown location and phone went directly into voice mail. Are they still in business?
