1423 China Kitchen is an exciting Chinese restaurant – ranked No 1 in Windsor – centrally located in Church Lane, one of the cobbled streets adjacent to the world-famous Windsor Guildhall.
Our Grade 2 listed building, believed to be the second oldest in Windsor, dates all the way back to 1423. Centuries of clutter and old decoration was stripped away to reveal many original features including a very rare Dragon Beam, thought to be one of only ten still existing in England.
Using only the very best local produce along with many seasonings, spices and other fresh ingredients imported directly from Szechuan. We are also pleased to offer a very comprehensive menu for both vegetarians and vegans.
The restaurant is set over three floors enabling us to comfortably cater for up to 90 guests. As such it is ideal for providing separate spaces for individual large family get-togethers, parties or even corporate functions.

I would highly recommend this place,food was outstanding, every dish so tasty & well presented. This was our 1st visit & it certainly wont be our last.

Such a great chineese restaurant, we celebrated a very special occasion here and those guys couldn’t do enough for us. Food arrived hot, yummy, we had some good recommendations too. I highly recommend to try their crispy duck and chicken curry. Yummy!

Very disappointing. Restaurant was freezing and we were told ‘nothing can be done’. The kitchen staff were having a huge argument which was so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think let alone have a conversation. We had 3x starter dishes. 1x was ok. 2x were awful!! We left after the starters and I have been kicking myself since that I paid for them!! Not good at all. Shame. I would like a refund.

This place never Has always been good Great Selection on the menu , nice flavor , also nice and spicy if you want but always ask first . Clean , good service would recommend trying thanks

Huge disappointment this time, we felt totally neglected by staff as it seamed their takeaway orders were priority over in-dinners, waited ages for the food only to be served eggs in our VEGAN dish.…..

The restaurant was freezing cold. We had to ask for the heating to be turned on. The food came out at different times. Some food was missing. It took us nearly 25 minutes to pay the bill due to their internet connection. Overall not a pleasant experience which is disappointing as we love their food when we get a takeaway

Food was delicious and pleasant service. We ate outside in this quiet side street. It was quite expensive compared to similar Chinese cuisine in London.

We did not have a table and I booked for 11 and the place was not ready and the staff was very rude telling us to come back in an hour

Amazing vegan menu and very tasty, the only thing that spoiled it for us was very high price for morning glory dish, which was £19 for a handful of greens in soy sauce and garlic, but other than that we loved it and will def go back to try other vegan dishes. So happy to have this little gem on our doorstep
