   This is my second time dining at the restaurant. Last year the experience was great the food was plenty full and they had several menu options yesterday I went to the restaurant and tried to order the lamb, another cut of meat and the steak on the hot rock, none of those options were available. To my surprise the restaurant only had two options, a porterhouse, and a tomahawk, which were too much for me and my date to share. Plus the price options for those particular cuts were more expensive than what we are willing to pay. If I had a known that most of the menu was not available, we would have not sat down to order, the meal in general. But since we already ordered the appetizer and the waiter did not advise us that half. The menu was not available. My recommendations for anyone going to the restaurant ask what they have on the menu that’s available before sitting down I felt cheated that there were only two big cuts of meat available from a order of a restaurant that displayed over 10 different cuts of meat.

   We love this restaurant, unfortunately they were out of many popular menu items when we were there. Our server was very kind and friendly.

   There was not one person in the place after 30 minutes of attempting to recommend a wine which he knew nothing about, he came back and said the wine was 14000mxn, where we had just eaten at their sister restaurant in Merida (which was FABULOUS) and the same wine was half the price! We told him this and he said the rent was higher in Tulum and they had to cover the extra costs! 50% more, I don't think so. The music was awful, loud rap like music which was totally inappropriate for an expensive what should have been quiet and romantic steakhouse

   If you like meat cooked to perfection, this is the place. Outstanding marrow appetizer then a filet to share with truffled fries and asparagus. If you can take larger portions then go for another type of cut, possibly the scorpion tomahawk as the fat will certainly add to the taste.

   I’ve been to 130° before. Even tho I’m pescatarian, my boyfriend likes a good steak. Luckily, he loved it! And Rafael was an amazing waiter! Recommend 100%

   Service tends to be casual, slow and unprofessional at the Tulum location and today was not an exception. And corporate management in Merida clearly doesn’t care, because I’ve sent direct comments. We arrived for an early dinner and all the staff, including the general manager, is just hanging out. Our wait person needs retraining because we expressed what we wanted, then he left until we asked if we could order. When the baked potato arrived FROZEN, the manager was completely aware and did nor said anything. In fact, being the only customers, the manager had zero presence other than to sip coffee at the bar in front of her laptop. I would compare the level of service to a burger bar. Our center cut filet was slightly over cooked and the texture grainy. We are huge fans of the Merida location, BUT the Tulum location, not new, has never been at the same level of service and food quality. After many visits I think 130 Grados in Tulum will NEVER match the overall quality of the Merida location. We’re not investing any more of our money in this consistently mediocre dining experience. There are many, much better restaurants in Tulum. Update: I forgot that our server, M, brought our check and we said we would pay the tip in cash. He did not deduct the predetermined tip from the credit card charge, so we didn’t tip in cash. Old trick.

    We had an amazing time at 130. It was truly an experience from the food to the service. Jorge was our main server but everyone on the floor took care of us from refilling our drinks, to making sure we were ok and didn't need anything. The hostess was very kind as well. We had the ribeye, salmon, baked potato, spinach, and key lemon pie. The presentation was beautiful. The steak was cooked as requested and seasoned perfectly. The salmon melted in your mouth. Sides and dessert were good. We had no complaints. The portions were big and shareable and totally worth the money. They made my birthday dessert to go because we were so full but gave me a birthday sign and candle for home. They went above and beyond. I will definitely return to 130 when I come back to Tulum. I highly recommend!!
