We ordered 3 lobster risottos and all 3 came out different. One had undercooked crunchy rice that seemed to be mixed into a creamy sauce instead of cooked with the sauce, the other risotto also had undercooked crunchy rice plated with a pool of excessive oil that covered most of the creamy sauce, the last risotto also with undercooked crunchy rice had no sauce with a texture of a rice pilaf. The French fries tasted like they’ve been out for awhile and were oily and cold. The cocktails were clearly watered down. It was a completely disappointing experience. My family and I were looking forward to a good meal and they clearly underdelivered. I would not go back to this place again.
Fresh, innovative food with unique cocktails. The waitstaff is always incredibly friendly!
This place is way too loud. It’s almost impossible to have any form of conversation without yelling at people, considering the noise level. Service was poor. Food was good but way overpriced for what it was. Wouldn’t be our choice for next time.
It was amazing and a night to remember. Thumbs up!!
Food was good but portions were very small and overpriced. I would not return. Service was good. Overall value was very low. Not worth the money.
The service was incredible
I loved my experience dining here! I’ve been wanting to check it out for awhile now ,and Dine LA was the best excuse to finally do it. While we did have to sit outside due to Covid rules, I actually think it was more enjoyable. Everything we ordered was delicious and the drinks were even better. I definitely recommend for a nice dinner with friends, date night or whatever the occasion. Staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. I’ll definitely be returning :)
The service was good & the staff was friendly. The menu for Dine LA was delicious.
Great visit and service, seated immediately. Had a great time! Thank you!
Loved it! Our waitress Jocelyn was the absolute best. Everything was spread out due to Covid and felt like normal experience. Luckily we came during dine LA so we got a good meal. Would go back easily!
Great, lively outdoor ambiance. The lobster risotto was delicious.
Service and food were excellent. Jazz band outside in the courtyard was very good but it made for a noisy dining environment. I highly recommend 1212, especially the Ribeye Steak.
Not a bad hangout spot. It’s nice that they have such a large patio. I felt safe going. Also a bonus that street parking is so easy right now.
Great place. Has a great tasting happy hour
The menu options was not versatile to picky eaters. Food quality was also not there.
This was my first time at 1212 Santa Monica. It was fabulous!
We ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer. They were so delicious. I even thought about getting a second as a side dish with the entrees.
We also tried the tomato and basil Crostini. Another excellent choice!!!
For the entree it was chicken Milanese
And a Sicilian burger. Not a crumb was left on the plates.
I was very disappointed in the filet mignon. You tasted more char than anything else. It was dry and cooked more at medium rather than medium-rare as I asked. My daughter's pasta was not all the way cooked through either. The waiter was great, no issues there.
It seems like they were under staffed.
Service was slow
We had a wonderful waiter and the food was great
Wonderful experience. Great vibes!
Finally because of COVID restaurants like this one are creating outdoor dining experiences that give a better sense of community and connection with surrounding community like in Europe. I hope this is something that stays even post-covid !!
Reasonable parking ($15.00 almost everywhere because of all day "beach" parking) is a little difficult to find near the location (go north about one block to N/W corner, $5.00 total). Need to use your phone to scan the "coaster" for menu (our android wouldn't work though). Ordered 28 oysters and Lobster Roll for two people (Happy Hour Price is $2.00 each) and two alcoholic drinks. Oysters plump, juicy and fresh (Could have separated the foot from shell though). Lobster Roll was sweet and were possibly on "Kings Hawaiian" rolls? While we were waiting for our second round of Oysters, we were brought an "on the house" Lobster Mac" dish, that was fantastic. There was a large German Shepherd Puppy that was barking at another dog for awhile, which was somewhat annoying, but nothing to due with the food or management, just be aware of location being dog friendly.
Has a great patio space and the staff was wonderful
Awesome food and service. One of my new favorite restaurants.
Ambiance is great. Couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere. Food however, could have been better presented. Didn’t think it was worth the price.
Great vibe and cool setup outside. The food was so so, and the menu is a bit limited. They seemed a bit disorganized, but it was busy. The food was good enough, that combined with the vibe and music, we will probably be back.
Our server was not very friendly, and it was so, so difficult to hear her over the Face mask, face shield, and the loud music playing. Once the 90 minutes hit she kicked us right out. I know that is their policy, but I’ve been to other restaurants that are doing the same thing and as long as you’re drinking they allow you to stay a little bit longer.
Lastly and most important, the menu has changed. So a lot of the items that I saw and wanted to order prior to us going to the restaurant were no longer available. It’s more of an Italian-based menu now and I’m not a fan of Italian food so if that matters to you, please take note.
Always love coming here. Fun ambiance and play great music
I live in the area and usually customer service is excellent but tonight it felt very restrictive and not accommodating. I know there are new guidelines in place but the workers seemed overwhelmed and it was felt by the guest. Food was great!
It's nice to be outside and the spacing is done well that you don't feel cramped. The service was great, very friendly, and quick we didn't have to wait at all.
The small plates were good the cocktails good priced especially for happy hour prices. The lobster risotto was the only item that caused this to be not a perfect experience. For $23 it was super dry (I've had many risottos) the rice was not fully cooked, there was barely any lobster pieces so I was basically eating semi-dry undercooked rice :(
It Was Our Last Day Out There & they made it amazing food was great the employees have a good spirit definitely would go back i especially loved the mini burger sliders ‼️‼️
Excellent food. Great service. Loved the patio setup and access to the bar while waiting for table. Staff was formidable and very dog friendly! New go to for casual hip fare.
Amazing vibesss with the outdoor seating!! Feels like a European town! Music and management are awesome!
Great outdoor sitting area! Took a friend out to dinner for his Birthday and enjoyed the ambiance on the promenade.
One of the best places for outdoor dining during the Covid era. Great food, good value, attentive service, good energy. A bit loud after 9pm on a Saturday due to live music, but it makes the experience more fun.
Overall a very enjoyable family dinner. Great to see 1212 making it all happen under the current COVID conditions. My octopus salad and Salmon main course were excellent. My wife said her filet was good but not amazing. The music was a touch loud but we were relatively close to the speakers and hard to complain given the need to cover the large makeshift outdoor dining area from speakers situated at the front doors. It would be great if they could augment the number of speakers to get more coverage without the need to blast one pair of speakers - but a minor point overall. Our server was wonderfully attentive and that really helped make the experience. Overall a very fun time with tasty dishes artfully presented.
Great outdoors dining during covid. Tables all spaced out and everyone wearing mask. Service was excellent and food was delish. Friend and I shared the Hamachi and fillet. Hamachi was light and savory. The fillet was cooked just right, tender and lovey with the tasteful mash. Will definitely return!
Fun atmosphere, good food
Nice service and ambiance.
Lobster risotto so-so, a bit boring. It used to be better here.
Branzino too much kus kus, and pricey for what it is.
Octopus appetizer excellent.
Bread is $6 here. In most other places in the area is gratis.
