the food was inedible salty. our group of 7 barely ate. everything was overcooked: chicken, steaks, salmon and burgers were cooked to the point that no one wanted to eat the food in front of them. not even fries. two of the cocktails had insane amounts of salt as well and had to be returned. The restaurant itself is very pretty but it was mostly empty and the music was so loud i we couldn’t talk to anyone not directly next to us. the waiter was nice and they did turn it down when we asked but the dj (it was a dj playing lots of phil collins, etc. not music that needs to be blasted at you) i assume kept turning it back up.
bad food, bad drinks, bad music $450 bill.
Love the restaurant, but the service was a little slower than usual. But overall, great time and looking forward to going back.
Domo arigato Mr. Enrique/Rico! My family and I had a great time this past Saturday. Great food, fast, tasty and all in a Vegas style environment.
We will be back to enjoy the bar the next time too!
Had a birthday lunch today with 2 friends, food was great & service was good but surprised that no one acknowledged the birthday especially since it was mentioned in rsvp & there was an orchid plant with a happy birthday balloon attached , oh well
I had salmon and it was delicious. Very quick service. A little overpriced but a nice experience. Very convenient for the Santa Monica Playhouse or Third Street.
I wouldn't recommend it for someone wanting a quiet dinner. The music was TOO LOUD!
Great restaurant and service!
Big space great for large group of people.
Lunch special $16 is a deal.
The food was NOT good. I was worries it wouldn’t be good because of its touristy location but it has so many good reviews. I really do not understand why. The risotto was an abomination. The arancini was dry. Everything we tried was bland and yucky. Very disappointing.
Super slow service had 11 people and the restaurant was empty
Excellent experience. Great food and friendly amazing service. Catherin was amazing attentive server.
Our waiter, Rico, was amazing! Not only did he do a great job with taking our order and delivering our food in a timely manner, he was so friendly and personable. My family will definitely be back. Also our bidder, Juan, was on it! Great food, excellent service and a beautiful restaurant.
Very good restaurant, good service & music. great for large parties.
All the appetizers we had were delicious!
Chilean sea bass, pesto pasta and lasagna were also yummy! Great friendly service and the location is great (patio perfect for people watching). They also have a great happy hour menu. :)
Loved our server Ella. She was accommodating and reactive to our needs. We cam early for happy hour and the Dine LA dinner for $39 at a set price. We ordered happy hour drinks and appetizers first. Liked the Charcuterie board fo meats, cheeses, figs, and olives. Loved the SM XPA santa monica beer at $6. Had two and loved the flavor. Edamame with truffle salt was good but did not taste the salt much. The appetizer shrimp and poke looked better than the meat appetizer I had. I was a little dissapointed with the fish choice on dine LA of Branzino as it was not that tasty and had a strange cinnamon taste that did not go with the fish. Fish was OK not great and soft and flaky as I like. The lava cake dessert was really delicious and loved it. We did not experience the normal menu which had a lot of nice things to consider so this is really on the Happy Hour and dine LA menu. We loved the patio, restaurant was empty as we were early before 6 but Happy hour area as more filled. I would probably go back if in the area as I live far away to try rest of menu
the representation of the appetizer entree and dessert was horrible. I can't imagine serving one shrimp with a tiny bit of raw tuna for an appetizer. The fish was very salty. It was accompanied by one asparagus and a cold half of tomato. We went to your restaurant because we were interested in experiencing a dining experience. Instead it was one of the worse meals we have ever had.
We went for DineLA and our meal took over two hours for two courses and a desert. We did the wine pairing and got the wine 20-30 min before the food for both courses so the white wine was room temp by the time we got the food. Our server was nowhere to be found the entire time. We had to ask for more water for the table more than once. The food was good but the server never came to check and see how it was, so if there had been a problem we would have needed to track him down. Just overall bad service. At the end the server split the bill between two of the three of us even though we handed him three cards and there were three of us at the table. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth, I would not recommend to others due to service. Food was fine, not spectacular and for the price I don’t believe you get what you pay for.
Genuinely disappointed. Our food came so late and when we finally got our food, the pasta was completely undercooked. When we tried to find our server, she was no where to be found. However, The manager was the only person who listened and cared about our issues and did everything he can to help us out.
Great place for energetic groups that don't want to have a lot of conversation. The food was delicious and the space is gorgeous - took rather a long time to get our food (we were there at 9:30pm and the place wasn't all that crowded) and the server only came to our table once to ask how everything was or if we needed anything. Great location right on the Third Street Promenade.
Great place for after-work happy hour with friends and coworkers
The interior of this restaurant is well appointed with an open feel and light, breezy atmosphere.
Our server Rico was first rate. He was knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, attentive yet without displaying any hovering effect or impression.
The four of us selected a group of small plates which were delicious, especially the Kobe meatballs, the thinly sliced tuna tartare and the beet salad.
Highly recommend their version of profiteroles for dessert — crisp pastry shell and properly cold vanilla ice cream filling — one of the best versions of profiteroles to date.
Highly endorse this venue on the 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica. Parking in the nearby parking structure makes it an easy 3 block stroll with entertaining street artists along the way.
Everything about this place is great for dinner, or celebrations. Great ambiance, food is delicious and service was attentive and efficient.
Did the price fix menu. Truffle kabocha app had great flavors. The kabocha was over cooked, but the rest was great. Probably the highlight for me. Had the miso cod. Couldn’t taste the miso. The cod was decent. Mushrooms were too heavy w oil. Mashed potatoes were good. Dessert had the profiteroles. Included a chocolate bar that was delicious. Like the ambiance overall.
Perfect menu, i wanted every dish
Amazing ambience, lighting and temperature
The service was slow but courteous. The food tasted like it was fresh but the sauce seemed dry.
First..there is no reason for a restaurant to make a customer with reservation wait 45 minutes to get seated. There is no other place to go on a Saturday night in Santa Monica without a reservation. And, I don't care how busy the restaurant is, no excuse for the restroom to look like a swamp. Filthy, messy, wet floors (not water) and no paper.
OK. Food was good to very good. Salmon was excellent, we ordered with a side of mashed potatoes. Flatiron steak was just good. Chimichurri sauce was off. Wasabi roasted potatoes were great. The albacore/hamachi crudo with fried onions and ponzu was terrific and I really enjoyed the popcorn shrimp. Not done is what we have come to expect...More mayaonaisy and sort of cheesy..like mac an cheese but with shrimp. We will probably go back, but not on a Friday or Saturday. Management has absolutely no idea what is happening. The hostess was alone on an extremely busy night and did an admirable job.
Wish the food was better
Rico was amazing and I would definitely come back! Great food and service.
I had a fabulous Galentines dinner with the ladies and had the perfect dinner and night .
Thank you 1212.😊
Fantastic experience. Dishes were phenomenal, ambiance was really chill and upscale. The service was great. Overall would definitely go back. They even gave my date a rose on our way out since it was on the 14th. What a nice touch!!
Incredibly nice interior. Seems like a great place to grab a drink. We started with the Tuna Carpaccio, which okay. Too truffle tasting for me. Then had the Pesto Chicken Spaghetti, Kinda bland. I probably won’t come back, unless it’s for drinks.
I've heard some great things about this place, and have been meaning to try it. Dinner last night was amazing. First and foremost, service was exceptional. Seems so simple, but it feels good to know that you're welcome, and the restaurant appreciate your business. Loved the decor and the style...cool yet cozy. Our waiter was very thorough with explaining the menu, and pointed out some things that we should consider. We got a bunch of stuff to share, but couple things stood out...
Tuna carpaccio was unbelievable with the hint of truffle soy
American kobe meatballs...so delicious
I love oysters so we got a combination plate that was super fresh
Charred shishito peppers
Seared albacore sashimi - melts in your mouth
It was worth every penny! Would absolutely come back. Thank you.
Over priced for steak and fries
Food was great. Although some dishes weren’t fantastic. Great location for a nice dinner. Experience was memorable and would absolutely recommend to friends.
Excellent meatballs. Great service
The food was delicious and the place was very nice. I enjoyed the miss marinated cod and the chicken dijon was very flavorful. The wine pairings were a good compliment to the dishes and the happy hour special is great too.
Food was terrible!!! I am embarrassed because I picked this place for a girls brunch. I've been there before for apps and cocktails and thought it was fine. Went with six girls and all of us were very very disappointed.
It was dine LA but I think almost everything we had could be found on the normal menu.
One of the starters was the tuna tartare. It looked like dog meat. It was oversaturated with soy sauce and came with this ridiculous thin rice paper (a papadum which is an Indian thing). I'm Indian and they failed at whatever they were doing. The thing was so thin so you couldn't scoop the tuna with it and tasted awful.
My meal was the burger, which had gorgonzola cheese on it. It was just a massive chunk thrown on, it looked like someone had scooped it out of the container. The only decent thing was the fries (and decent not great) and the desert which was cheesecake but neither were something to write home about.
The cocktail I had was great but then again for $15, I want to go somewhere I can eat the food too! Wine selection and knowledge (from the server) was good. There was only one waiter for the whole place which was huge but not extremely packed, honestly I don't know how they stay in business. Maybe dumb tourists who only go once!
It was my parents anniversary during dinela, service was not bad but the food was very bad. No presentations no taste at all. Really wonder how they receive good rates from customers. When I looked at the menu and the list of choice, it seemed they are serving high quality food at reasonable price but after I tasted all the food... it turned out to big disappointment. Appetizer: so-so. Not much to say about the appetizer. Main: I ordered mentaiko spaghetti, it was so bland and the noodle was overcooked. I asked them to take it back and they replaced to black cod which was also bland but it tasted better than the spaghetti because spaghetti had NO taste. Replacement was served when my family were almost done with main course. I only had 1/4 of black cod. We also ordered ribeye- medium cooked but it came out well done. Only thing I liked about this dish was millefeuille style potato. Portions of each course were too large. If the food was good, we would’ve finished it but since all the food were so bland and has no taste... it was just wasting. Desserts: We had sorbet parfait and chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake. Desserts were not bad. Compare to appetizer and main dish, dessert was the only dish I finished more than a half of the portion. Atmosphere and the interior of this restaurant is good. But I would never go back to this restaurant for any meals.
Checked this place out during DineLA, which was a great deal. Lovely ambiance, albeit a little loud for my taste.
Food was amazing. The Sea Duet appetizer was bursting with flavor and was a unique hybrid spin on seafood. Ordered the Mentaiko & Mushroom Spaghetti for my main course, which I noticed wasn't on the original menu. I usually stay away from pasta, but this was so delicious and unique. Perfectly al dente with some awesome umami flavor. Ordered the Fruit & Sorbet Parfait for dessert, but wasn't a fan. The "whipped cream" was thick and really sweet. Didn't quite have the freshness of a parfait. I dug deep into my cup seeking the fruit and removed what I could of the cream.
Docking one star because it took forever to get seated. Even with a reservation, we waited about 40minutes past our reservation time. Also took quite a while to order and receive our food. Will give them the benefit of the doubt, though. It seemed like a busy night with a bachelorette party and a big birthday celebration in the private area upstairs.
