We did the summer prix fixe meal and were blown away by the quality and value of the deal. I got the piña loca drink and my partner got the manhattan. We both loved them. Then followed by the Caesar and market salad, filet and crab spaghetti, and sorbet and crème brûlée. Everything was terrific.

At an upscale restaurant, one expects a baseline of elegance—not just in ambiance or menu pricing, but in how guests are treated. Unfortunately, this establishment confuses attitude for sophistication and rules for refinement. Upon arrival, my partner and I—dressed smartly, if a touch too informally in footwear—were met not with a warm welcome or a discreet explanation, but with juvenile behavior from the front-of-house staff. Four young hostesses, evidently untrained in basic hospitality, chose to whisper amongst themselves about our flip-flops—not quietly enough to go unnoticed, which only added to the unnecessary awkwardness. Instead of discreet professionalism, we were met with pointed looks and audible judgment. It’s their dress code, and we missed it—that’s on us. But what followed was not. We were seated outdoors by the bar area, which quickly filled with a noisy crowd that made any conversation nearly impossible. As the evening progressed, the weather turned stormy and windy; I sat there shivering, uncomfortable, and wondering how a restaurant that insists on smart casual wear cannot manage to pair that standard with smart, courteous service. The irony? Inside, patrons in shorts and t-shirts enjoyed their meals in comfort. Their sneakers, apparently, granted them passage through the invisible velvet rope. To be fair, the food was good—well-prepared and flavorful. The only letdown on that front was the martini my partner ordered: unbalanced, flat, and forgettable ($25.00 for a Bombay Sapphire Martini). Suspiciously did not taste of Bombay as well. In a place that puts this much effort into curating its image, you’d think the bar program would rise to the occasion. It did not. If a restaurant wants to be seen as elevated, that starts with how people are made to feel—not just how they’re told what to wear. Mistakes happen. We should have checked.the dress code. When a restaurant aspires to class but only delivers condescension it tells you all you need.

When you want great food and great service, consistently, head to 1000 North. We used to go for special occasions because it is a high end restaurant, but isn't every day a special in Jupiter? The filet mignon was cooked to perfection, the pasta was amazing and the artichoke/crab appetizer was unique and exceptional!

Our first time at 1000 North. Dinner and cocktails were wonderful. I had the Red Snapper with lump crab which was excellence. My wife loved Sole & the 100 Year Old Fashion. Andy (our server ) & Alex (the bartender) were great. Will be back soon.
