100 Acres: The Kitchens at Hotel Henry
A unique restaurant experience, 100 Acres is located in a sprawling hall-type setting on the first floor of Hotel Henry Urban Resort Conference Center with a variety of thoughtfully composed dining spaces and atmospheres.
Enjoy house-made pastries and artisan breads from our bakery with coffee and espresso drinks from The Counters during breakfast. Choose from full-service, grab & go, take out, fine, and casual dining in The Halls and Burgandy Room. Sip craft cocktails and hand-selected wines in the Bar Room, or intimate tastings and progressive dinners in The Parlor.
Good service with pleasant servers. Room was quiet and a lovely spot to dine and chat. Very interesting menu. I love the use of fresh local veggies and herbs. However, my salad had giant pieces of lettuce, which made it messy to eat without having to cut up the pieces myself. It was OK, but veering toward bland, which is less than I'd expect for $12. It was a disappointment, as even though I'd only wanted something light to eat, I was not motivated to finish it. The sourdough bread was absolutely fabulous, though, one of the greater foods of the gods. So that functioned as most of my meal.
It's a great location at the former Richardson Complex that offers an amazing display of old Buffalo architecture in a pleasant and inviting setting. Great service, interesting food preparation, and presentation. A great place for out of towners to get a view of the grandeur that once was Buffalo and is now on its way back.
I was a little disappointed overall with our experience at 100 Acres. I ordered the burger, which was cooked perfectly and flavorful, but they put onions on when I asked for no onions and the entire burger then tasted like onions, so I couldn't finish it. You're also essentially dining in a hallway, and you're close to your neighbors, and you can hear their entire inane conversation about Tolkien and Peter Jackson. The wait staff, however, was awesome and attentive. I'd give them a second chance, for sure, but I'd request a lower table and not one of the ones by the stairs.
Celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary and it was an absolute delight. Food, service, atmosphere all top notch. It can be a bit pricey but well worth it.
Really unique brunch menu. All 4 of us were happy with our meals and cocktails. The cured carrot hash was phenomenal!
My husband, daughter and I went to 100Acres for brunch and were very impressed! The food was delicious and the staff very welcoming. I received a complimentary bourbon milkshake for my birthday- so delicious!
Everything about our experience was top notch. Every staff member we came into contact with was gracious and knowledgeable, every single bite of food was truly delicious, well combined and well presented. We will be back and will recommend!
The hostesses and wait staff were very accommodating upon our visit for brunch. We were unable to sit at a high-top table with my elderly parents and were given a very nice table within a reasonable time. The kitchen manager Kirsta stopped at our t!able and chatted with our family, answering quite a few questions about the history of the building and the new owners; we were impressed with her knowledge and hospitality. Our waitress, Jackie, was helpful with the menu descriptions and encouraged us to order some of the house favorites. Bravo to the 100 Acres staff!
A great dinning experience starts with a well trained hostess, especially when it's a busy evening. Unfortunately that wasn't the case with our recent visit. We've been to 100 Acres several times all positive experiences.
As guests of the hotel, we had 8:15 reservations. After drinks at the bar we made our way over to the hostess. She was noticeably stressed, asked us to wait while she went to look for a table, we awkwardly stood until she came back and asked if we would sit on the patio. Not sure of the temperature outside we agreed to see what it was like. Once got closer to the doors outside, it was clear we weren't dressed for the temperature. When we came back in she asked bout sitting at the high top tables. My partner asked if we sit here, how long before we could sit at a proper dinning table- her reply "I'm not sure, people are staying longer, why don't you go ask them when they'll leave." Although we thought she was kidding, she wasn't.
Not our problem or job to find a table when we had confirmed reservations and as a guest of the hotel.
Although our server was great, the hostess's attitude was professional and a huge turn-off. At minimum we would have expected her to come back when a table was available to ask if we wanted to move. We never heard from her again.
A piece of advice 100 Acres- train your hostess staff how to handle a busy evening and provide exceptional customer service to those staying at your hotel and coming back to your restaurant. Buffalo now has a number of amazing dinning options, I'd have to think twice before coming back.
Excellent food, excellent ambiance and an overall great place to go. The cocktails we're outstanding as well. It took a little more than an hour to get our food, but it was well worth the wait.
Splendid - just short of outstanding all around since our prior visit was exceptional in all regards and I like to reserve a bit for those extraordinary times - We thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening
All food was outstanding, especially the beet soup and the chocolate dessert. My dinner companion raved about the crispy potatoes and her burger. The wine menu is superb.
I hope to dine here on a regular basis.
Plus, the location makes for unique destination dining.
Fantastic food and the ambiance is great. Wait staff very friendly and attentive. Had my 4 year old with me and was a little concerned when we got there because I didn’t know what to expect and it was fine dining. Hostess went out of her way and made her feel right an home, and even gave her crayons to color with.
Nice brunch. Beautiful space.
Terrible you eat in a hallway with people walking around .... service was ....slooooww
There's no place that has the menu this place has.Something different but Overwhelming.Delicious
We had a great experience. Great food , best presentation, great cocktails.
Food was excellent, but we were not informed about the prix fixe special until we received the bill even though our entrees and appetizers were apparently on that menu. Seems it’s a super secret special. When we inquired further we were told that the wait staff had been instructed to keep it under wraps. Figure that one out ????? I’m a frequent patron, but maybe not anymore.
Day with Grandaughter
Stunning venue and phenomenal brunch! Just lovely. Will definitely go back to try dinner.
It was our first trip to Hotel Henry, everything from the time we entered the hotel to our departure was truly amazing. Dinner that evening will be remembered for it's outstanding service and taste.
We highly recommend you give it a try.
Very nice brunch in the historic HJ Richardson “Hotel Henry.” Drenched in atmosphere and beautifully restored. Excellent service - met & exceeded all of our requests. Shout out to our server, Sarah!
One request, please on a sultry August day, it would have been great to have chilled drinking water. We’re a big water family and the tepid tap water (twice, two different pitchers) was disappointing! Food was wonderful, cocktails interesting. Lovely to stroll around afterwards.
My boyfriend & I came for a birthday celebration. Wine was delicious, we were very disappointed in the steak that we order, medium rare. Only to get it & it was barely edible because it was too rare. Pasta special was fantastic & so was the homemade hummus appetizer.
Enjoyed a lovely Saturday brunch with my mother last weekend in the Burgundy room. Mom had the amazing French toast with maple ice cream. Very delicious and decadent. She loved every bite. I had the Prosciutto toast which was very filling and so yummy. Had a few mimosas as well. Very attentive service, very friendly and helpful answering questions about the hotel in general. Overall had a great day.
Great space, low noise level, very interesting architecture! Nicole was our server. She was very knowledgeable with the menu and the building. We started out with the roasted beets which were ok, grilled corn on the cob, very flavorful, and a cheese board, which was excellent. The time in between courses was too long. Entrees included Hangar steak, a spaghetti special, grilled salmon, and a burger which were all very good. For dessert, Affogato & coffee hit the spot!
Beautiful location and interesting historical landmark. Food was delicious but small portions. We enjoyed the “Date Night” special and added crispy potatoes! Very enjoyable meal.
Beautiful location and stunning restaurant, delicious foods, and amazing desserts and the Service war Perfect
All food was delicious.
Service was slow. Food nothing special.
Great food and venue but tonight food too forever. Not the servers fault. Was kitchen
Food was good but not hot when served
This place came highly recommended but hard to understand why this is this.
Limited wine list, limited menu, limited value - I would think twice before selecting this place
I heard great things about the food at Hotel Henry so I was very excited to try brunch. I got the Croque Madame and my boyfriend got the Brisket on a Biscuit. The meats were very salty, almost too salty to eat. The bread on the Croque Madame was so buttery, almost too greasy to eat. The food came out in 3 minutes after we ordered so it was almost as if the food was pre-made and they just bring it out when you order. Our waitress was nice but clearly very busy and overwhelmed. It just wasn't the experience I was expecting when I have heard such great things about the hotel. I would still try the dinner there, but I might wait a while before going back. Also, you need more low seating options for two tops. The hightop was not comfortable and right in the middle of all the action. It felt like we were eating in a hallway.
We had a great time! The food was amazing. The atmosphere and market was also perfect.
Pricey. Food is good, not great. I had the Croque Madame. The ham was very salty and the mustard a bit on the spicey side - almost too much. The bread while generous was good but not enough cheese and ham in my opinion. The egg was cooked perfectly but should have been 2. The coffee is good but again, overpriced.
Excellent service with well informed suggestions from the amazing staff (Jacob was wonderful). Beautiful unusual seating (hallways) great surroundings that are just enough different to make it fun food was exceptional, the daily special was delicious and as a side I would go with the crispy potatoes.
Over priced food horrible service nothing too exciting here. Best part was walking around the old psych center.
Restaurant did not meet my expectation. Good service. Waitress very knowledgeable about food and drink. Food was ok. Overpriced considering quantity and overall taste.
Have had brunch and dinner here, both experiences were fantastic. Service is incredible and the food and cocktails are out of this world.
I was here before and liked it better the first time. They changed the seating in the dining area by the stairs to tall stools/chairs from larger chairs and a wall booth. The new seating is just uncomfortable, no back support and very little room. Not a good place to hang a purse over the tall chair either. Hard to relax in uncomfortable seats. Food and service was still very good though. Not sure if I would come back though.
