1 Lombard Street Brasserie Ratings and Reviews
I entered the restaurant, there were a couple of people standing to leave their coats, but we were not offered the same service perhaps because we were cheep (open table set meal takers). Anyway, although the seating was just by the bar and was quite noisy, waiters were efficient and attentive and could not fault them. Meal was somewhat small portions, but good flavors with house wine in reasonable price. Overall we were satisfied and is a good venue for friends get together.
From the moment we walked in the service was terrible. We firstly got barked at by the lady who took the coats to close the door even though we weren't even the ones who left it open. We then had the privilege of meeting the host who was just as rude. The restaurant itself is extremely loud and badly designed. The waiters were good and the food was lovely apart from the cold Bakewell tart which did not complement the cold ice cream . I would not recommend it.
Good all rounder, food lovely and the service as charming as ever, the space is also elegant and unusual
Did find it a bit noisier due to louder music than I recall maybe due to our later booking.
As tables are a bit deep (while comfortable for managing food!) we both ended up with aching throats after two hours trying to be heard and it was an effort to hear, so was a bit of a strain.
Well, after being looked up and down by the reception team (not sure why as I was wearing a suit with smart trainers, being a city professional), I was then shown the bar. My guest later arrived and received the same hostile treatment at the door.
The waiting team demonstrated no interest in making recommendations, though were surprised that we couldn't finish the untasty meals. They showed no interest in understanding why we didn't enjoy the meal yet of course charged us for the pleasure.
The food left a lot to be desired, meat not cooked as requested being a great example. Followed by service akin to a gulag, plates taken away without being asked if we had finished nor a polite question as to why the food was to our liking or not finished.
We will not return
A friend and I had a really nice dinner here on a Friday night to celebrate her engagement. We had a two course set menu with matching wines and I thought it was good value for a nice City restaurant. Service was excellent and the ambience lovely. My special request for a nice table for the occasion was kindly accommodated too. It would definitely make a good lunch/dinner venue for clients too. I shall return.
The person at front of house set the tone by being particularly rude, both before and after the meal. Before the meal, he insisted rudely that could not have a table as we had not booked. No apology when he finally found the booking. After the meal, he shouted when we went to retrieve our coats. Unforgiveable behaviour, especially when with clients.
This was a most enjoyable dinner. The restaurant was pleasantly busy, the service was perfect and the food was terrific! I had smoked haddock and poached egg for my main course, and every ingredient was perfect. It was my friend's first visit, and he will certainly be going back!
Enjoyed with girlfriends the fixed price menu with their wine selection. Felt this was good VFM. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Would have been even better if choice expanded and/or if they had not added extra £9 for several of the main courses, given the limited range.
Food was excellent. Service throughout dinner quite good, sadly had a very rude waiter at the end who after some confusion with the service charge made 2 very rude and uneccessary comments and had to speak to the manger. Made us feel totally unwelcome and shall not be returning which is sad given the quality of the food.
What a find! The service was excellent. Despite our friend running quite late, we weren't hurried to order and all 3 main courses were served at the same time despite being ordered at different times. We had a special menu which cost £40 for 3 course including paired wines. It really was very good value considering the excllent service and the quality of the food. Will definitely be going back!
Unfortunately it wasn't positive experience. Nothing major had happen, but unfortunately I don't feel like coming back or recommending.
1.While booking we left a note in the party there is a vegan person and on lactose+gluten free. If the lactose and gluten free person could simply avoid certain dishes and was fine with that, vegan person was not looked after at all. My fiend is very easy going person and never over complicates things, therefore even said to waiter that chef can choose any dish that he thinks he can adjust to vegan and it would be fine for her. I am not sure if the waiter ever asked the chef, however he brought us allergen menu. My asked if he could suggest at least something , but no help here we end up reading all menu one by one dish checking what we can adjust so she could enjoy her meal with us. Quite stressed moment that left my friend feeling uncomfortable as everybody was waiting for her to order. As mentioned before she was ready to eat literarily anything that would be suggested or adjusted to vegan.
2. The amuse bouche with blue cheese was served to a lactose free person.
3. The same vegan person's soft drinks where forgotten twice.
4. It was a cold and rainy day so we all had our jackets and coats that nobody ever offered to leave in the cloakroom and just left it hanging on the back of chairs.
Waiter had amazing attitude
most of the food was very nice
The food was fantastic! The service was quick, attentive, polite and highly professional. Though music was too loud for my personal preference, it was appropriate and set a good ambience. The value rating I gate reflects the cost - it's better than high street dining, which costs more, however it's not pretentious or unreasonable for the experience as a whole. Definitely revisiting.
