Business lunch for two. Started well, food and service great. They put all the customers in one area which meant that a chat turned into a shout.. Only issue I have, the rest was great .. And will go again, but insist on a corner table....
A good buzzy atmosphere while retaining traditional ambience and quality.
Excellent all round. Great location. Good selection on wine list. Wait staff very good.
I am a regular visitor to the Brasserie at 1 Lombard. I am always very content afterwards. Quite traditional but I like that.
I go here for lunch, the menu is varied, the service and food is excellent and it represents good value. Wine list is well thought out but succinct and the cocktails are top notch. I also take my wife here when the occasion allows. All round great place
lovely food, fab ambience and friendly staff.... will def come back again.
This restaurant is in a very beautiful part of the city of London.
We had drinks at Fortnam and Mason in The Royal Exchange first which is wonderful.
Number One is s beautiful restaurant. The staff are seriously good. The menu is typical Brasserie and does not disappoint
It’s not silly money especially given the setting and quality of both food and service.
I’ve been a long standing customer and look forward to my next visit. A delight.
Lovely food, attentive service
My friend & I came for the £19.50 for 2 courses meal, and to be honest it was all a little disappointing. My friend was disappointed with both his dishes, he went for the salt cod & chick pea salad which was very bland and lacked in seasoning, I ordered the beef carpaccio which was actually really nice with lovely olive oil. My friend then ordered the chicken which came out unaccompanied by any sides so he had to order additional, which now meant the meal was no longer £19.50 which I found a little on the deceptive side. I ordered the trout & ratatouille which again was pleasant but not much to write home about. You could definitely tell these dishes were not served with love.
As we were having an inexpensive meal we decided to buy a £40 bottle of wine, which was very nice but again slightly overpriced. The atmosphere was pleasant and had a nice buzz for a Thursday night. The staff were attentive although we ended up with 2 waiters serving us, which became a tad confusing as we were being asked the same questions twice. In conclusion we both came away a little deflated from the whole experience and with so many choices in the city, I don’t think I’ll be going back any time some.
Great for business lunches with wonderful service!
Service was very poor even though the restaurant was quiet. Food from the set menu was terrible and I could have made the dishes better at home.
Would not go back or recommend.
Late booking through the app for an unplanned business dinner. All was as I would have expected. Friendly staff, good food and service in very pleasant surroundings
I have been here a number of times over the years and it is a City staple. Really disappointed on this visit. The tables were all crammed together, making any kind of personal or discreet conversation impossible. We had to flag down waiters in order to progress all stages of the meal and payment. The food was cold and deeply ordinary. There was absolutely nothing about the experience that would make me want to return.
The set menu is very nice and a bargain for £19.50 pp. my only criticism is that if you fancy the steak or salmon there are supplements which is a shame they cannot put some more cheaper protein on. All in all though we had a very good steak and salmon dish each. I’d definitely go again
Great food, quick and friendly service in a super convenient location
Perfect from start to finish! Service was impeccable, food was delicious and the ambiance was spot on, not too loud that you couldn’t hear the other side of the tables conversation.
Will be back soon!
I’ve been many times and will keep coming. It’s a great venue for a business lunch (or breakfast or dinner).
The staff know how to look after you and the food is excellent.
Beautiful room, in the morning very bustling but it can be noisy depending on who sits next to you. Prices geared towards bankers who can charge back or prices decent and sizes a bit small.
The place gets scarily empty after 10am when the good looking breakfast menu stops. So be early or go somewhere else.
Menu choice was good and the food delivered on flavour and presentation - we all had different dishes and each one was excellent. The service was impeccable , we were short of time and the staff responded accordingly. Restaurant atmosphere was good as very busy. Our restaurant of choice when in the city for lunch
Great location & atmosphere, we enjoyed our meals & the service was spot on
Food was excellent, service was no less than should be expected for the price point - service charge was a bit toppy - £21 being 12.5%, but is what it is - know its optional, but who ever takes it off. Quite a noisy environment due to high ceilings, so not one for a private meeting over lunch, but nonetheless a very nice meal
Super convenient location, nice food, a trifle noisy at lunchtime. Have been there before, will be there again!
Great restaurant for lunch or dinner. Staff are friendly and the service efficient. The Rum baba desert is exceptional.
Service very slow, had atmosphere, great architecture and aesthetics but noisy. Food lovely but didn't blow me away. Too many restaurants in London to go to if nothing is desperately enticing me back
Excellent business lunch at 1 Lombard St. The food was very good especially the Salmon and the service as ever was excellent.
The best eggs royale ive ever eaten. Luxury surroundings.
The setting is fine and the staff (as you would expect from this standard) are friendly and efficient. However, the overall food standard that we experienced was not innkeeping with the expectation that we had a slightly disappointing.
Can't fault this place for a business breakfast meeting. Perfect in every way
Food is bland and quickly served. Waiters want to get you in and out. Good for business but overall not impressed at all with quality, especially given price. Will not be coming back
Good food... service was good but couple of things could be better.
It’s fine, it’s just a bit tatty nowadays, it needs a refresh and a some joy brought in to the place. Service was sloooow.
I came back here because of the great service, great food and lovely ambience - a year to the day actually. This time, unfortunately, the service was very average, both very slow and we felt we weren't looked after. As the night went on things got slightly better but virtually no attention to us, most staff pre-occupied with setting up for the next day (I hate this, do it once we're gone!) and we didn't even get offered a complimentary, end of meal valentines drink! Is this mandatory, no but to make it special and to distinguish Lombard from others it would have been nice. It's a shame, as these inexpensive fundamentals are exactly that. Shame really and the problem is, next time I eat out in the City Lombard may not be my top 3 choice.
Had a 3 course meal, food was pretty good. The service was a bit slow, but felt it was coz we were forgotten. Since another group ordered same time as us but were on finishing their desserts when our main arrived. Weren't in a rush, so all good though :)
Awful service from start to finish. Had to wait a long time before making any order and after we ordered a bottle they left it on another table. Waiter took our order and was rude before walking off. 15 minutes later we found our order slip on the floor. Shocking and there are sooo many better restaurants in the city. I would not go back.
Thank you for your review and feedback. I feel disappointed to hear that you had very bed experience with us. Please accept mine and my team apology. I can assure you that this is not our usual standard and I am sorry that we ruined your evening out. I hope we can repair trust again.
A lovely evening with amazing food and an excellent server in Christian.
Great venue, excellent service and good offer on the valentines day menu.
The food was lovely and the ambience good. However we were very disappointed that we were not able to dine on the set menu (2 courses for £19.50). The OpenTable website was very clear that it was available from 2 Jan to 28 Feb, and the only excluded date was 25 Jan (Burns Night). We were there on 13 Feb but were told this deal was not available and the only set menu was the Valentine's Day menu (£48) which was running from 13-15 Feb. We had a nice meal but spent much more than we had been led to believe we would. The waiter did give us a bottle of Prosecco to apologise, and blamed OpenTable for getting it wrong....I see the OpenTable website has now been changed to say "not available on 14th and 15th Feb" - but we were there on 13th.... Disappointing.
Amazing dome in the restaurant. Food was good and service ok
Perfect location, ambience, food and service, will definitely be back 👌
A great find for Central London. This was my second visit with friends. On a Friday (compared to mid-week) it was bustling rather than quiet, and the lively atmosphere was delightful. The set menu is great value at £23.50 for 3 courses, and all excellent quality. The drinks however are expensive, so it will still come to £50 per head in all likelihood. Service was great with friendly, charming staff. A lovely evening out and I would highly recommend overall!
