R Lounge at Two Times Square Ratings and Reviews
Overall experience was incredible. I reserved online and when we arrived, they had no record of our reservation. Although they did seat us quickly, I’d recommend calling to confirm reservation was accepted. Food was delicious. Extremely convenient. Fast service for a Saturday evening. Would have liked to see more tapas and beer selections.
Went here for a last minute birthday dinner when plans somewhere else fell through, which I’m very glad they did! The food and drinks were all great, there’s a live DJ that plays a great music selection, and you could see all of Time Square! Our service was wonderful, even for it being a Saturday night. The prices we’re much lower than anticipated as well!
We spent too much time touring the city and neglected making a reservation for dinner so we were left trying to find a decent restaurant, close to Time Square that we could quickly make a reservation on OpenTable and get in and out in time for a Broadway Show.
Location is optimum at it's in the Renaissance right at Time Square so a five minute walk from about everything. We had relatively low expectations since it was a restaurant in a hotel. Our only issue was arriving, we were forced to wait for an elevator as the hotel elevators and restaurant began on the 3rd floor. We would have gladly walked up the steps but we were told that the steps were for emergencies only.
Upon arriving, the lobby, bar and restaurant had a dark club like atmosphere which we were not at all expecting but really were pleasantly surprised. Before we were quickly seated, it was impossible to notice the views on three sides with the main view overlooking Time Square. That was worth it right there!
We both had cocktails that were good with just the right amount of alcohol. We ordered the humus appetizer which came out with celery and pita bread. It was good. I ordered the chicken breast (could have done without all the onions) but the glaze was very good and asparagus cooked perfectly. She had a sandwich whose names escapes me. I'll come back and add but it came with baked chips. We both ate every bite. Now I thought it was quite costly given what we received versus other dining experiences so I didn't feel the value was quite there. I would return if just only for drinks and that amazing view.
Menu limited, food average just wasn’t quite what we expected for our last meal in New York. Was more bar food than restaurant to be honest. Views were lovely but would only go maybe for a drink in future. Service was ok altho my husband received his meal and I hate to wait a few minutes before staff realised mine hadn’t arrived!
We were given the best seat in the house right by the window. The drinks & food were good as well as the service. They had a DJ there while we were eating which was nice. I was surprised that the place wasn't more packed especially with the location. We did not feel rushed to leave which is nice because a lot of places in NYC want to rush you out to turn the table over to the next guest. So if you want to impress your out of town guests or even a date the place is beautiful and and a nice hidden gem!
Great food. Pricy but worth it as the view of Times Square is spectacular. Comfortable seating. Dynamite wait staff. Very helpful and they know the menu. Food came quickly and was excellent. Would definitely go back. Music is a tad loud in the restaurant but it's part of the experience/mood. If you have business to discuss, just move back to the bar area where it's a bit quieter.
Wrap-around, floor to ceiling windows and third floor location make this a very nice lounge with a fantastic view of Times Square. This provides a splendid view with the added benefit of not having to be out there in the madness. We had cocktails, shared some delicious small plates - Soft Pretzels, Fried Shrimp, Lobster Roll, Adult Grilled Cheese, and desserts - Ice Cream Sandwich and Molten Lava Cake. Of these, the grilled cheese believe it or not, was the best.
One complaint - they have a lovely menu of cocktails that would be terrific "mocktails" but are all pre-mixed and can not be made virgin.
We had a very good experience. We arrived 30 mins before our reservation and they were able to accommodate us, appreciate that. Had the strawberry salad and swordfish, both were good. Service was good, our waiter was very attentive. Would definitely return.
Views are unbeatable. Food and drinks were good. Service was nonexistent. In 2 hrs we saw the waitress 3 times and ONLY because we had to ask someone to send her to us each time. Husband waited 40 minutes for second drink. In the end, she gave us some else’s credit card and after a second staff member waved us off, we had to go in search of the owner ourselves. We would have spent 2 or 3 times more if we could have gotten served. Hard to beat the location, but tough to keep that in mind with such bad service.
