R Bar & Grill Arlington Ratings and Reviews
The food was good but the wine list was boring. Service was reasonable but I was surprised they did not know about Open Door when I asked. The restaurant is part of the hotel so that overall so the prices are a bit higher which diminished the overall cost/value of the experience.
Should have realized this is a hotel bar and the drink prices were very high. Had the beef street tacos and quesadillas appetizers; not good. The beef was tough. The pork chop was good and the steak sandwich was a very good. Pizza fell apart during preparation, so they had to start over, and the rest of us were done eating by the time the COMP pizza arrived. The service was top notch!!!
Took 45 minutes to get our food, and we were the only ones at a table on a Saturday night. All three ordered steaks, all the steaks were way overdone. Service was slow, but very nice, gracious, and apologetic when we brought up the meal. Ended up going to another steakhouse.
Drinks were tasty but over priced.
The food was quite good. The server was a little slow but nice. My only frustration was that the menu that was online was not the menu they had there. Apparently the online menu was still from a previous holiday. The ambience was nice and outside would be good if the weather had been better. I did not realize it was attached to the Hilton though.
The short rib was superb, as were the drinks. Had to return the sweet potato fries; they came out just warm. Meal came out without asparagus. We were told the asparagus came in but was still on the truck. So that came LATE into the meal. Sea bass was tasty, but very small portion.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes once I am back in Arlington. The presentation of each meal was amazing. Everyone loved the atmosphere. Service was intelligently-timed and friendly.
Great neighborhood spot located inside the Hilton Arlington. Great ambiance, food and staff to ensure you enjoy your visit, food and beverage. The staff provides whatever/whenever service in the event you want something not on the menu - the chef is creative and puts a spin of fun and flare into his food creations. The F&B director and his team in the restaurant meet you with a smile while inviting you into the restaurant for a beverage while watching sports on one of 10 TV's or for a meal before heading to the baseball/football game.
We discovered R Bar and Grill this past weekend as a lunch date for my wife and I. Nicole, our waitress, was very professional and extremely attentive. The ambience was refreshing and there was a really laid back atmosphere. Will definitely go back again. Great find in the neighborhood.
I enjoy eating and drinking at R Bar & Grill. The staff are all very friendly and engaging and the bartenders are creative and great at making your favorite beverage. Although located inside the Hilton Hotel, it's a great place for happy hour, watching sports on many of their mounted televisions and tasting some great food items. I recommend it to all my friends!
We were in town for the Cotton Bowl. Great atmosphere, food and prices. But this Hotel was sold out, it was the Cotton Bowl AND New Years Eve.....They were sorely understaffed and not very apologetic about it........
I believe they pulled Managers from the Front desk to assist customers, which was nice. Free champagne toast and no cover for NYE was a lovely benefit
Went Xmas day 2015 at 2 p.m. Much better than the few alternatives, such as IHOP, Luby's.
Menu looks interesting for those that like typial US "junk" food (too much salt and sugar, burgers, pizza, huge servings of beef, etc.). There appeared to be a lot of variety and probably tasty and well prepared compared to run-of-the-mill chain restaurant food.
We ordered a dinner salad and the wild chilean sea bass and split both, along with brouschetta.
The sea bass was moist, but severly charred on both sides. The sauce over the vegetables was tasty, but exceedingly sweet.
Watresses were understaffed. Ours was plesant and very accomodating. Fortunately, we had allowed plenty of time.
Decor was good for SW style and seating comfortable. Fortunatelly, the 3 TVs at the bar were muted and the few people at the bar were quiet.
Overall, it satisfied our needs for a Xmas meal out. We won't be going back.
R Bar has quickly become a favorite of my entire family. The food is absolutely fantastic-amazing menu with affordable options. Every dish I've tried there (and I've eaten there quite a bit,) has been phenomenal. The service is excellent, and the staff is extremely friendly. I would recommend R Bar and Grill for a date night, work lunch, party...basically any time you want outstanding food and wonderful service. I don't live near Arlington, but I make the drive over because it's so good. Chef Marcelo is incredibly talented, and his menu never disappoints. The sea bass, R Burger, and flatbread pizzas are all delicious. (I also highly recommend trying the dessert menu. The desserts are to die for!)
We were pleasantly surprised at how tasty the Thanksgiving fare was. Everything was delicious, the drinks were refreshing and the service was great. The only setback was the music was playing too loud for conversation. However, we asked the waitress if it could be turned down a notch and we were pleasantly surprised when she did! Highly recommend!
I got a call the day before to call confirm my reservation, the guy that called was really nice so I was really excited.
We had a reservation at 12:00pm. We were about 15 min early, but they sat us right away at the saved table. We did not get greeted for 20 min, and the only reason we got greeted is because we asked the bartender to get our server. They were not busy at all, and the entire time we were waiting, there was about 3-4 servers standing around. We got walked by at least by 10 people, and none of them offered to help us.
When our server finally came over, she did not apologize but took our drink order. My boyfriend asked how much the mimosas were, and the waitress didn't know so she went to check. She came back with two mimosas and when we asked again how much they were she said she forgot to check. We both took the mimosas, and she came back to say that they were 10... each! The mimosas were in wine glasses and had no more than 4 oz of champagne. They were definitely not worth 10 dollars. My dad ordered a coke, and we all ordered waters. She only brought one to the table. We had to ask another server for two additional waters.
We ordered food, my boyfriend got a kiss a dillo, my dad got a hamburger, and I ordered hot wings. The food took a while to get out, but was average when we finally got it.
We ordered two cocktails and they were good. They were cheaper than the mimosas, which I find weird. Our check ended up being $75, and it was not worth it.
The only thing I liked about this place was the ambiance was nice, it as exactly what I expected. A nice bar, and filled with fans going to the football game, but I will come again, and I will definitely tell my friends not to go here.
I just got off a long flight and was craving a burger, so I found this restaurant on open table and took a chance. I did not realize it was a big game day and so there were many Dallas Cowboy fans in the bar cheering away. I asked if there was any place in the restaurant that was a little quieter because after a long day of flying I just wanted to relax.
So the waitress was wonderful and suggested we choose outdoor seating so we would have some quiet.
Service was excellent. The food was delicious. I had a burger with cheddar cheese and sweet potato fries. I would definitely dine there again.
Poor rating due to dining experience during Thanksgiving and after football game in Arlington. Crowded restaurant and too much for kitchen to handle both buffet and ala carte menu. Better planning in future is the must. I would not be returning for sure. Service was amazing and the waitress is really trying to please every tables she served. Unfortunately without much success due to slow food output and below average food taste.
Everything on the menu wasn't available like the and certain ingredients needed to make drinks at thevbar weren't available. We had to summon another waitress to find our waitress on several occasions. I had a great time with my date and the restaurant added ABSOLUTELY nothing to the evening
No need for a reservation. We arrived at 9:30pm on a Friday and only 2 bartenders were working. We ordered the bone marrow, caesar salad, chowder, durango tacos, chocolate pie, and bahn mi sandwich. We finished the sandwich and the chowder. The bone marrow was bland like the salad. The tacos weren't edible at all. The chocolate pie could NOT contain real chocolate. It was late and we were staying at the hotel, so it was enough for the one (and only) night.
Nice dining experience. Knowledgeable server, eager to please. Ceasar salad very good, large enough to share. Snapper fresh and delicious. Substituted elote side for brussels sprouts and beans; it was killer. Nice wine/beer list. Great to have another casual dining option in north Arlington that is not ho-hum chain. This should be a destination restaurant, and not just a hotel bar/cafe. Come support it! Let's not allow this one to close!
