El R&D es un restaurante informal de estilo urbano ubicado en el centro del emblemático barrio chino de Toronto. Está dirigido por Eric Chong, ganador del primer MasterChef Canadá, y su mentor y dueño Alvin Leung, galardonado con una estrella Michelin. El R&D cuenta con interiores elegantes y rebosantes de energía que ofrecen un ambiente íntimo. The food is great if not a little on the pricey side. The duck is as advertised! Service was attentive but not too much so.

This was a great experience! The food was wonderful. Taste and presentation for everything was terrific! We especially enjoyed the Iberico char siu. SO tender! We're hoping to return with a larger group and order the duck. My only slight disappointment was with the timing of service. Everything we ordered arrived very quickly and almost all at the same time. So, we weren't able to enjoy our cocktails before wine or one starter at a time before the main. We also were sitting at the chef's counter, so it became a bit cluttered with all the dishes at once. All in all, I must say that these are minor complaints because, overall, the service was very attentive, and the food was delicious. Definitely glad we visited and hope to return.

Fantastic food. Brussel sprouts, rice and obviously the duck stand out. Great service. Accommodated our party of 12. Several repeat customers.

I have a 2 for noise Level. That is because when we were seated in the front part of the restaurant, across from the bar, the music was VERY LOUD! I asked one of the staff if the music could be turned down as I am hard of hearing and we were meeting friends and wanting to have a conversation. He was very accommodating and did turn the music down to a background level. I very much appreciated that and we were able to enjoy a lively conversation with friends.

I've been coming to this place for years now and I am never disappointed. What I find most impressive is how the new items on the menu are so innovative and delicious. How Chef manages to keep coming up with such interesting and scrumptious new dishes is what keeps me coming back after 10 years. This time, a special mention goes out to our server Sara(h), who was delightful, knowledgeable, and perfectly present (and patient with our 11 year old dinner companion :)).
