Quinn's Steakhouse & Irish Bar Ratings and Reviews
Was sat at a tiny table that could barely fit our plates and drinks. Uncomfortable "bench" seating was far away from the table and very low. Ribeye was cooked perfectly to medium rare but was still tough to chew. Waitress knocked over a glass of wine but was luckily caught before spilling
My husband and I were staying downtown for medical visits and to celebrate our anniversary.
We had an incredible meal at Quinn’s. I had the one of the prix fixe meals and it was delicious and great value. The waitress surprised us with a lovely cheesecake ( part of the prix fixe meal,) on a beautifully decorated plate that said Happy Anniversary . Would definitely go back.
Our meals took a really long time to come and when they did both our steaks were over cooked. Also, the “frites” in the steak frites are just diner-style thick cut fries - definitely not what I’ve come to expect when ordering steak frites in a restaurant. Server gave a discount because of the long wait but did not offer an explanation for the delay (the restaurant wasn’t busy).
First time at Quinn's and we enjoyed the food and experience. Food was quite good, tasty and prepared as ordered and expected. Service was very good even though it was quite busy - server was attentive but not overbearing and made dinner a very enjoyable experience. Décor is a bit dated/traditional but clean and neat. Worth a visit - would definitely return.
Because we were in high expectation based on other reviews, we were expecting excellence. To our surprise, it turned to be an over-all rating of good as supposed to very good to excellent. But ... location was great, from the process of communication of the reservation (quick and responsive) to the server (pleasant and knowledgable), service was very good; ambiance was good -- attractive and well kept dining environment.
Escargot have a curry powder mixed in with the garlic butter. Not ideal. The 12oz peppercorn steak was tough, although cooked to a perfect med-rare. Server was friendly, sweet and prompt. Overall, was OK. Not amazing, not horrible...just OK. Might go back, but not in any hurry to do so. 6.8/ 10.
The service was excellent. The food was ok - but I may be a little less than enthusiastic about the food because my gut was feeling off. The place needs an update though. It is looking quite tired and for the price of a meal at this steakhouse I expect better ambiance.
My friend and I were looking for a nice meal while in town for a conference, staying at the Sheraton Centre. Quinn's is right in the hotel, and it was just what we were looking for. We both had a nice glass of Reisling, and the 6 oz filet mignon which was done to perfection (medium was near-red center, we were glad we listened to our waiter who was spot-on). We paid an extra 6 bucks for the butter francais or something similarly named, which was not worth it -- wound up being two dollops of butter on the filet that I could have easily done without. That took the score down to a 4/5, but otherwise we were well pleased with the food and the ambiance (a bit noisy, but not enough to cramp our conversation). I would definitely go back!
This is not my first trip to Quinn's and it is consistently good. The Summerlicious menu always has something good on it. The steak frites is a good choice. The atmosphere is very good and the table and booth set up makes for some nice private spaces without a lot of noise.
We went here for our anniversary. I felt sorry for the waitress as she was the only one and it was July 1st...busy. But she didn't get flustered, was super friendly and really deserves a raise! (Sorry....didn't get her name). Food was good and came out in a timely manner. I loved the smoked salmon/Irish soda bread appetizer. There was a group of 12....with kids....beside us, but they weren't rowdy and you barely noticed they were there.
My husband and I dined here for a date night. We had the Merv-ish dinner vouchers, and I can't say enough how good this place was. The food was delicious. We got the seafood appetizer to start, which was delicious. It would have been nice if there was a little bit more shrimp in it, and a bit more dipping sauce, but otherwise it was delicious. I had the cream of mushroom soup to start, my husband had the Caesar salad. Both were delicious. We both opted for the steak, both of ours were cooked to perfection, and absolutely delicious. The vegetables were cooked perfectly as well, so they were tender, but still had a Nice crispness to them. We both had the cheesecake for dessert, and it too was delicious. What a hidden gem on Richmond street. We will definitely be back!
Fantastic steak, I had ribeye and my wife had fillet, which was the best we had sampled in Toronto during this trip. The Stanley Cup game was on the TV in the bar, with the Toronto Maple Leafs participating the atmosphere throughout the restaurant was terrific. The staff were excellent, both polite and welcoming. Thanks for a great meal.
