Quinn's Steakhouse & Irish Bar Ratings and Reviews
Was there Sunday January 14th for my wedding anniversary with my beautiful wife. We are both from Irish heritage and we're eager and looking so forward to eating at this restaurant. We were staying at one King West it was a short cab ride there which was extremely convenient. I had the surf and turf my wife had another seafood platter we were both very impressed with our wait staff and our food I had a pint of beer with mine she had her house wine with hers. I've already made plans to return there for our next wedding anniversary. Who knows we enjoyed it so much we might have to have another excuse to just simply have another great night together.
Cheers to this restaurant and bar. Don't punish yourself by not going to this establishment it is well worth the money and the food.
We switched our reservation instead to Druxy's as we had small children. We were told when we went told when we went to Quinn's in the afternoon to look at the menu that if we changed to Druxy's we still would be able to order off the Quinn's menu. However when we were seated and inquired we were told that would not be possible. Strange since they shared the same kitchen. Dinner was ok. When asked about ordering desert we were given one menu for ten people and then felt very rushed to order. Not everyone had a chance to review the menu and therefore they were frustrated and did not order. We were staying at the Sheraton with my elderly mother and therefore we did breakfast at Druxy's in the morning. It was not a great breakfast. Dried meat and one very thin sliced of bread. Seriously! Any other breakfast place gives ample toast. Would most likely not go back.
My steak wasn’t very good and was undercooked. The server recommended the wagyu bavette cut but I found it had several veins in it that made it difficult to cut into. I could have sent it back but didn’t want to ruin our special night. Service was excellent overall.
The service was attentive and pleasant. The food came out in batches for our party of 4 which was odd and inconvenient. The manger did a good job in correcting the errors. Of the 4 meals ordered, one was wrong, one was cold and the other showed up late. Only one order came out without an issue. Overall the location and staff were great. But for the price paid , felt it was not good value for the food. The deserts were small for the cost which was odd.
Overall It wasn't a disaster, but it could have been a lot better.
We were there Friday evening with one other couple.
The service was amazing but the meal was mediocre. Everyone’s steak was over cooked. One of group sent theirs back. Unfortunately we had tickets for a show and could be bothered having them re-cook the other meals.
We have enjoyed all the other establishments under the Quinn’s portfolio.
Was sat at a tiny table that could barely fit our plates and drinks. Uncomfortable "bench" seating was far away from the table and very low. Ribeye was cooked perfectly to medium rare but was still tough to chew. Waitress knocked over a glass of wine but was luckily caught before spilling
My husband and I were staying downtown for medical visits and to celebrate our anniversary.
We had an incredible meal at Quinn’s. I had the one of the prix fixe meals and it was delicious and great value. The waitress surprised us with a lovely cheesecake ( part of the prix fixe meal,) on a beautifully decorated plate that said Happy Anniversary . Would definitely go back.
Our meals took a really long time to come and when they did both our steaks were over cooked. Also, the “frites” in the steak frites are just diner-style thick cut fries - definitely not what I’ve come to expect when ordering steak frites in a restaurant. Server gave a discount because of the long wait but did not offer an explanation for the delay (the restaurant wasn’t busy).
First time at Quinn's and we enjoyed the food and experience. Food was quite good, tasty and prepared as ordered and expected. Service was very good even though it was quite busy - server was attentive but not overbearing and made dinner a very enjoyable experience. Décor is a bit dated/traditional but clean and neat. Worth a visit - would definitely return.
Because we were in high expectation based on other reviews, we were expecting excellence. To our surprise, it turned to be an over-all rating of good as supposed to very good to excellent. But ... location was great, from the process of communication of the reservation (quick and responsive) to the server (pleasant and knowledgable), service was very good; ambiance was good -- attractive and well kept dining environment.
Escargot have a curry powder mixed in with the garlic butter. Not ideal. The 12oz peppercorn steak was tough, although cooked to a perfect med-rare. Server was friendly, sweet and prompt. Overall, was OK. Not amazing, not horrible...just OK. Might go back, but not in any hurry to do so. 6.8/ 10.
The service was excellent. The food was ok - but I may be a little less than enthusiastic about the food because my gut was feeling off. The place needs an update though. It is looking quite tired and for the price of a meal at this steakhouse I expect better ambiance.
My friend and I were looking for a nice meal while in town for a conference, staying at the Sheraton Centre. Quinn's is right in the hotel, and it was just what we were looking for. We both had a nice glass of Reisling, and the 6 oz filet mignon which was done to perfection (medium was near-red center, we were glad we listened to our waiter who was spot-on). We paid an extra 6 bucks for the butter francais or something similarly named, which was not worth it -- wound up being two dollops of butter on the filet that I could have easily done without. That took the score down to a 4/5, but otherwise we were well pleased with the food and the ambiance (a bit noisy, but not enough to cramp our conversation). I would definitely go back!
