Quinn's Lighthouse Restaurant & Pub Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic as usual and decorated for the holidays! Bill did his typical superb job recommending gastronomic delights as well as serving us. We had a wonderful leisurely dinner with friends, the conversation was lively and animated, and the cocktails great. We have been to Quinn's Lighthouse for family occasions, business activities, luncheons, etc. and never been disappointed.
When we walked in, the foyer smelled of urinal cake. When we left, a gentleman in the restroom was evacuating his stomach contents -- though from which end, we shall never know. All of this four-dimensional smell-o-vision without ever stepping foot in the restroom!
The views are gorgeous and the food is decent, but given the restaurant menu prices, I'm appalled that I've experienced better hygiene at dive bars.
server catered only to his retired regulars. if you aren't on medicare yet do not come here, they will put you at a bad table, not bring you water or follow up to see if you need anything. it became kind of amusing how bad it was. made eye contact and he still walked by without a peep while we had empty glasses. crab cakes pretty good. most of the dishes i saw had a greasy spoon diner-esque feel which matched the dated decor and geriatric clientele well
We eat at Quinn's several times a year just as a good place to dine with a large menu (something for everyone) and good beers. This time it was Thanksgiving and they are always open on holidays with both a special and the regular menu. So we decided to try it. Food and service were great as always, but we all opted for seafood instead of turkey. Very reasonably priced all the time AND they didn't jack up the prices for Thanksgiving.
Excellent food, drinks and desserts. Wait staff is attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant!
The mainstay entrees are always fresh and well prepared! The specials are well thought out and add variety to a "Go to" restaurant!
If you like spicy food, try the Cajun clams and add a salad and beverage of your choice...."c'est magnifique"
A great place for area locals. Consistent menu with surprise specials from time to time. Interesting pairings such as the Cajun clams....Yum! The pear and Gorgonzola salad is the best and always fresh!
The mixed drinks are always made to order and the wine list, while not extensive is a fair representation of whites and reds.
This is a good "Go To" restaurant with EXCELLENT servers and prompt, well presented meals. It is never disappointing!
My wife and I stayed at a hotel from out of town for herbirthday, wanted a place with great reviews and close enough to walk for sight-seeing and dinner. This was quite the gem to find for a romantic night out!
Great, friendly, prompt service. Menu was great and plenty of variety for small place. We expected our bill to be much more than it was. Not over priced for our choices. The staff was wonderful! We weren't rushed and enough food left over. Looking around at other tables for different options, we noticed there were large portions everywhere! Definately worth the stop.
My wife and I plan to make this a routine stop in the future.
Really good seafood - I had the Seafood Newburg, plus half a bucket of the clams/mussels. Nicely done. Cool atmosphere right on a little marina out the window. Upstairs a very casual "peanut shell on the floor" kind of pub. Didn't have drinks there, but it was very friendly looking and comfortable.
I felt like I was at a restaurant from the 70's...the food as well coordinated with the past.
The food was treated wth too much spice, and as a result it overwhelmed the taste of the actual food item...and lastly ...so overpriced. I think that the selling point for the restaurant is old establishment.
This was maybe the third time our family has dined at Quinn's. We are all adults; some order cocktails, beer and wine and no complaints on that score. The food is always good; some dishes better than others but consistently good. My wife and I split a good tasting spinach salad and I had the Quinn's fish and chips, which was excellent. The other members of the party were all happy with their meals; my wife judged the sea bass as excellent, fresh swordfish with a sauce that did not add much, and a Korean sandwich with Swiss cheese that was judged tasty. Every time we have dined here the waiters have been friendly and efficient without being too familiar. The noise level was tolerable even with a raucous party at the next table over. We could converse and hear each other with no trouble.
Quinn's is on of our spots on our regular restaurant rotation. Not a foodie spot, but consistent good food. Wide variety of selections so good for groups. This time we were there on a Monday night and the place was empty. But on weekends reservations are the best way to be sure to get in.
The best part about our girls' lunch was the service. Our server Raul was very sweet, accommodating, and courteous. He was the best part of our experience! I've dined here at the past, so I was excited to take my girlfriends here, but something has happened to the quality of their food. Most of us were very disappointed with our meals. The eggs Benedict came with unseasoned, under-cooked potatoes. the mussels and clams came with burnt bread and a watery, flavorless broth. The kids mac and cheese was bland and soggy too! I'm pretty disappointed, and considering how much the food costs, we have higher expectations.
When we arrived the waiter greeted us and escorted us to our table. He was very friendly, courteous and attentive throughout the evening making sure that we had everything we needed. We ordered a paella dish and seafood pasta dish. The food was delicious. The restaurant is located on harbor, providing a nice scenic view.
Portions were large. Ribeyes (31/ea.) were over cooked but still fairly tender. However, the steak itself was not very well seasoned. We picked this restaurant for its location. Although the food was okay, I would not return when there are so many other places to try in Oakland/San Fran.
The menu online and the menu in the restaurant did not always agree-missing a few important items once there. The hours-closes kind of early weekdays, supposed to be open til 10pm Sats. -but we were told they were closing at 9, and wanted to sit longer-we only arrived at 7.30 for a friends get together and 9 was too soon-and it WAS a Sat.
