This was a wonderful birthday experience. My birthday falls just after Valentine's Day, so they were still serving the 4 course fixed Valentine's menu which was perfect for us, but some other diners seemed surprised by this.

We started with a couple delicious and unique cocktails at the bar before moving on to our table. We were seated by a window on the "porch", which alowed a great view without actually being outside. It was however still a bit chilly I would have appreciated a space heater or something.

The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient without being overbearing.

Dinner was fabulous. From the pistachio soup, gnocchi, and salad to the perfectly cooked duck breast to the breads, and delicious bread pudding dessert, we enjoyed every bite. They did offer a wine pairing option, but we chose to get a bottle from their excellent wine list which had a great variety of varietals and price points.

There were only a few very picky things that could have made it better. First, on Open table we were only able to get a reservation at 5:45 which was a bit early for us. We were there until after 8 and the place was never even close to being full, so not sure why we couldn't have come later. Second, while the duck was cooked perfectly and delicious, it was a bit on the cool side. Not sure if this was intentional or not but my husband and I both agreed it could have been a tad warmer. Lastly we were fortunate to catch that 20% gratuity had automatically been added to the check. We didn't see anywhere on the menu that this would happen and the server didn't mention it either. Now, we would have tipped at least this anyway, but we nearly tipped double that before we noticed the addition. This place is pricy, so that would have been an expensive mistake!

Other than these small things, it was a magical experience, and we look forward to going again for a special occasion.

Food was delicious! A little wait for the entree. The only complain was the water dripping from the ceiling right behind my back. My wife’s shawl fell from the chair’s back and by the end of dinner was soaked. The food however was outstanding and our waiter very gracious.

My wife and I came for Valentine's day dinner. It was our first time and we could not be more pleased. The service, atmosphere and food we're all top notch. Instead of going out for dinner, we came to Quiessence and experienced a fantastic meal. Our dinner lasted two hours and it wasn't long enough. The meal wasn't rushed and the wait staff was not intrusive. It was perfect.

I saw this listed on most romantic restaurants and asked my incredibly sweet boyfriend to take me here. I cringe at the price he ended up paying to make me happy and to not rave this was the best food we both have ever eaten. This place is beautiful but was disappointed in the food selection for the price of our meal of $326. The valentine entree should of been more of a substantial meal with a better meat selection. They only listed duck and trout. Also, I am a big dessert person and neither dessert choice was heavenly in taste. The salad, soup and bread was all yummy with creative ingredients. But overall it was nothing I would tell my friends they had to dine here; especially for the price of the meal.

Will not go back. Food was tasty and plated beautiful. I had 4 course meal with wine pairing (vegan) and got hungry on my way out. For a 400 dollars I soul like to eat more then one flower of cauliflower and a spoon of lentils.
Place was beautiful ,romantic and music was nice but service was as bad as I have seen. Our waiter couldn't drop our plates fast enough and then we set for a long time looking at our empty plates before our next course. Our table was outside. I was shocked when I saw portable bathroom. Will not come back. Very disappointed.

Our server was great and the location is wonderful. Outdoors, with twinkly lights and lots of room between tables. There was a waiter who waited on others who was loud and we could hear his shpiel over and over again and with the fancy food the descriptions were just over the top. Good food and drinks. It was prie fixe and they were fairly rigid with the choices. If we didn't like one course, they didn't allow us to change to the same course on another version of dinner. .

Their menu is very limited: we went here mid-week when we could use the a-la-carte menu, otherwise the offerings are 5 & 6 course dinners which is just too much food for us. The menu is very nice, but the entre selections are very limited (three offerings) (3 large scallops, $44.; NY strip steak, $45; and game hen, ~$46).All 4 of us thought the food was excellent. With drinks, tax, & tip it ran about $85/person- this with only a glass of wine each; everyone thought the prices were out of line with the food served. The atmosphere is countryside but not that spectacular to depend a uniquely high price.

We selected the 5 course tasting menu, which was excellent. The setting was beautiful and we enjoyed the relaxed dining experience. The service was professional but friendly. The entrance is on 32nd Street, but the restaurant is located at the back of the property, so the GPS directed us to 30th St, and we had a little difficulty finding it. We would definitely consider going back if we return to Phoenix.

I had a beautiful experince. I think It all depends on who you are with and why you are there. Before I knew it, 3 hours had passed and we were not ready to leave. We moved to a fire pit for at least another hour enjoying the warmth of the fire, the stars in the sky and the magic in the air. Thank you, I had a wonderful evening

We went on a Friday to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We had the most amazing experience. The food was incredible in appearance and delicious as well. We took pictures of each tasting to capture the moment. Go early as it took us 3 hours for our 6 course tasting. We went at 5 pm and it was perfect. It allowed you a few minutes to check out the Farm before your first course.

The description of the ingredients and presentation of the food belied what we experienced in lack of flavor, except for the fruits of the sea appetizer. The brown bread was flavorless, the soup ingredients were bland, the scallops were underdone, the churros were chewy. We were seated at 8:30 and received our fourth course at 11:00. The long delays between courses were the reason we didn't send anything back.

The wait staff were attentive. We were told there was a problem of pacing in the kitchen. The manager took the charge for one of our glasses of wine off the bill.
This was the most expensive and most disappointing dinner I've ever had.

We spent the past 3 New Year's Eves at Razz's in Scottsdale and it was wonderful from start to finish. If they hadn't closed, we would have repeated our experience.

It is unfortunate that the food at Quiessence is so good because it is undercut by the horrible dinner service. Came for the 5 course tasting on NYE, each course took about an hour to be served, with no apologies from management or the servers. The front of the house staff carried on as though nothing was wrong. All the diners were visibly upset and the entire night was mismanaged. My boyfriend finally asked our server what was going on with the food and that was the first time the problem was acknowledged. We talked to the manager who was in denial about the state of the evening, and made no apologies until we expressed our dissatisfaction. My boyfriend asked for half of our meal off, and his request was granted. Thank goodness he did, because although we received a discount the meal still cost upwards of $300. I sincerely hope the other diners had the sense of doing the same thing. In addition, this restaurant had the audacity to threaten a $50/person 48hr cancellation fee, for a dinner service that they could not handle.

Long story short, I could not recommend this place less. The food was good but not enough to make up for the clueless management and staff.

To start, my wife and I chose this restaurant based on an article which proclaimed it as the “Most Romantic Restaurant” in Phoenix. New Years seemed like a perfect occasion to test it out.
When we arrived we were greeted and a nice place to wait while our table was prepared, it did not occur to me then how many people were waiting for such a small number of available tables.
We were seated late, albeit only by about 10 minutes, but that set the standard for the night.
After being seated, our server attended the table and was very nice and knowledgeable about the restaurant and property - all downhill from there.
Being NYE the restaurant had made their menu a mandatory 5 course tasting menu with an elevated price of $125 per person. We order a bottle of wine with our meal.
The bottle of wine arrived 20 minutes after we ordered it, and the first course, a charcuterie board, arrived 40 minutes after the wine.
The second course, a salad and soup, another hour later.
We made it to the 3rd course, the first cooked item of the night, which arrived 3 hours after our seating despite 2 requests to speed things up.
Our wine was depleted and the food was not nearly the quality for the price point. Our server did not seem to care that we were underwhelmed, and no action was taken until we asked for our check at the completion of the 3rd course.
The manager, the only saving grace, was extremely apologetic after delivering our check. She also removed all the food from our bill and enticed us to return with a $50 gift card.
I can’t say for sure that we will use the gift card at all.

My wife and I have been here half a dozen times over the years and have very much enjoyed the restaurant in the past. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience for our New Year's dinner. We were seated late to reservation, and our 5 course meal took 4 hours to be served without any apologies or explanations. Simply inexcusable considering the price we paid for the very best and received the very worst. We won't be back.

I took my wife and some friends for New Years this year. I have been to this restaurant before and the entire experience was outstanding, I had a couple of issues with our event with the primary being forced to a set menu that had limited options. I was not made aware of the set menu when I booked this reservation but I could not adjust due to the timing of the notification (I learned of the set menu 48 hours prior to our dinner). The other issue that I had was a waiter that was either new or stretched beyond his limitations. For the price of the meal (with wine it ran around $1000.00 for the four) I would expect better service. I understand that this is a farm to table restaurant and that all courses were prepared with extreme care but my feeling leaving the restaurant was good food / great drink / average at best service but for the price I expected more.

We have dined at most of the top-rated restaurants in the Valley. Quiessence is in a different league than almost all of them. This is exquisite farm-to-Table. We had the five course tasting menu. All of the courses featured local ingredients, were truly creative and melted in the mouth. There was one misstep. Our steaks were over cooked. But as soon as we pointed this out, they immediately removed them and cooked us new ones, which were done to perfection. They also gave us a $50 credit and a gift card, and the front-of-house Director personally apologized. The setting is lovely, and they strongly encourage leisurely dining. Quiessence IS expensive. But you are paying for an experience that mist of the other Open Table restaurants with a 4-Plus rating can’t begin to match. For a special occasion, this is as good as it gets..
