The ambiance is beautiful but the service was sporadic. 2 of the 4 in the party arrived earlier as the other 2 got lost with the google maps directions. They were first told there was no reservation under that name (untrue I had gotten a call and text confirmation the day prior and responded to both). Then the man admitted there was a reservation but it was only for 2 (also not true the text specifically said party of 4). Then the two guests were not allowed to sit at the table until the other two of us joined. Once I got there the ambiance was gorgeous but little issues continued. Our waiter brought out the wrong wine which was a happy accident since we ended up liking our second pick. My guest didn’t have a spoon. It was clear the waiter was excited and loved food but was a bit new and he wasn’t able to provide much context or information about the dishes. The dishes came out in the wrong order for the wagu course (ended up being simultaneous instead of prior to the chicken). Some of the dishes were phenomenal: the soup was a clear star as was the carpaccio. Definitely skip the salmon though in favor of the steak. All in all, we had a good time, great views, and a lot of laughs, but I don’t think we’d go again. I think I’d be a little more forgiving if the initial waiter / host hadn’t been so rude to my guests in the beginning of the evening when they were trying to sit, but to me that’s fairly unforgivable.

We had 5-course tasting menus, one vegan and one pescatarian. They did an excellent job making novel menus to meet these needs. Service was fantastic.

Reservations are a must. Don't show up early expecting an early table. Our 4-course meal was very good! We were there approx. 2 1/2 hours for the meal.

Truly fantastic place, amazingly polite and friendly service, divine food, spoken through every ingredient. We got the 5 course trading menu and ate outside in the farm, give yourself about 3 hours! Very relaxing evening

I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The portions are small by design and you come away satisfied. The food is locally sourced, in season and abundant with flavor. The staff is fabulous and very knowledgeable about what is in each dish and where it is grown and how it is prepared. Anyone looking for a great night out with your favorite guy or gal, you will be glad you came to Quiessence.

If you have the time and the money, and are willing to go along with certain “rules” imposed by the house, you can certainly have a wonderful meal. But I wish some of those rules would be relaxed because it feels a bit as if you are being told how you must enjoy yourself. For example, our party of three was told that if two of us wanted the tasting menu and the third wanted to order a number of similar items a la carte, that request could not be accommodated because it would throw of the kitchen’s timing. I understand the chef wanting to offer his guests the best gastronomic experience, but the lack of any flexibility seemed a bit precious. Maybe time to rethink things so the guests feel more welcome and less like prisoners to the whims of the chef?

The food and ambience are wonderful. The service was so slow that I was falling asleep (after 3.5 hours) at the table. Go early, be caffeinated, and don’t do the prefixe menu if you don’t have more than ample time. The service took away from the overall experience.

The meal was more of what the chef wanted than the guest. The cheese tray was interesting but some of the stronger flavoring interfered later with the taste of my steak.

Often, the interaction among the spices etc conflicted with the flavor of the food.

All in all, an interesting evening that I doubt will be repeated soon. However, I would do so for a different set of menu selections to see how they compare.

The waitress was lovely but the recommendations she made for drinks weren’t good, way too sweet. The food was pretty good but not for the price point. The ambiance was fabulous so I didn’t mind so much that the food wasn’t great.

A very romantic place to have a quite dinner. The service and tasting menu was exceptional, and exceeded our expectations. The outdoor seating was amazing that was placed out on the grounds. A true gem in PHX.

Each course was a journey! I described the plank as “hiking off the trail” and it seemed fitting enough to the waitress where she said she was going to use that as a description! Everything was cooked to perfection, done so in a timely manner, and all the while in a setting of privacy and romance. My girlfriend and I will most certainly be returning!

We went for our 27th anniversary. The staff is super attentive without being overbearing. The food is incredible. This is a perfect lace for the more adventurous foodie! On weekends, there isn't a normal menu. There is a chef designed menu, and you just really select the number of courses that you'd like. If you are picky, that may not be to your liking. Since it is small, things are quiet enough to allow for conversation. It was an amazing experience!

My date and I enjoyed the ambiance, elegance, and edification. We decided to try the recommended wagu, which was worth every bite. Other highlights were the citrus honey macaroon topped with foie gras and a farm fresh flower. It seemed as though the restaurant was only accommodating us. Our waitress also recommended the mock-tails that would pair well with our dishes, Afterwards we strolled through the farm and I took advantage of the moment as I proposed to my date. Thank you for the perfect backdrop to an unforgettable evening, everything was a "Yes"!

There was a special 4 course meal for valentine’s weekend. Our reservation was at 7:15 and at 9:30 we still had only received our first course. I’m all about fine dining but this was ridiculous. And we weren’t the only ones complaining about this same issue. I’ve eaten at quiesence several times and had nothing but an outstanding experience but last night was ridiculous. We finally received our 2nd course and when we told them we were done and ready to leave (still missing main course and dessert) they brought the bill and only deducted 20%! The kitchen/chef/owner needs to get it together!

Reservations at 8:15, not sat until 8:40. Had tried to call and cancel due to illness and was told we’d be charged $125 per person, so we sucked it up and went. The menu was a 4 course meal with only two options for each course. Courses came out 45 minutes apart and food was average at best. We finally asked them to box our desert course because it was after 11p. Wine and old fashions were good. Disappointing valentines to say the least. Waited 25 minutes in the cold for our reservations to wait 2.5 hours for 3 mediocre courses. 3 glasses of wine and 3old fashions with the 4 course meal cost $470! This was not our first time at Quiessence, but it will be our last.

Beautiful location and lovely atmosphere. We went for Valentine's dinner - food was ok, service was ridiculously slow and clumsy / low attention to detail. The place was not crowded but it took 30 minutes to get a glass of water and order. The main course scallops had a weird chemical taste. One of us is pescatarian and we were served a scallop with a giant piece of prosciutto on it. At the end, we were presented with a bill for almost $400 for two dinners and three glasses of wine. The prix fixe was $125pp - they had added in a gratuity and also requested a second gratuity. I definitely wouldn't go back for a special occasion. Definitely wouldn't pay $400 for two people. The whole experience felt super clunky.

I have visited Quiessence numerous times for business and pleasure and usually enjoy the service, staff, food and experience. This past reservation on 2/14, my wife and I were not feeling well so I cancelled the reservation two days before but was told they were going to charge me $125.00 for cancelling it due to Valentine's Day. We decided to keep the reservation but I had a bit of a chip on my shoulder. When we arrived, only 50% of the restaurant was busy and I was disappointed the restaurant was going to charge me $125.00 when they were clearly not sold out.

With so many options in the Phoenix area, I probably won't dine here again nor recommend it to any of my colleagues.

Great food and atmosphere! We chose the 4 course and then got dessert- everything was delicious! We were there for about 3 hours, but knew that there is time between courses and it would be a lengthy dinner. We were seated inside and I was grateful because it was quite chilly outside.

My wife and I really enjoyed the restaurant. Plan on several hours as it is definitely a foodie experience. It is very romantic, but the lighting in sort of odd. I would love to go back when the weather was warmer as the outdoor seating looks very nice. Beautiful grounds and the food was very good!

We attended the Huss Brewery dinner. It was fabulous....food, beers, staff, fellow guests. Everything was perfect. Definitely our favorite restaurant in the Valley. We are fortunate to have such an outstanding restaurant in our own backyard.

A wonderful fine dining experience. The setting is cozy and quiet in a small house that was converted into a restaurant. The staff is magnificent and very attentive. The food is well prepared, displayed perfectly, and made with local ingredients from their farm and other local proprietors. Expect to be there for 2-3 hours as the dishes come out at a casual pace. It's an expensive evening, but well worth the experience.
