Overall our experience at Quissence was fantastic. The food was exceptional and we loved the history and farm to table concept. The staff were accommodating and pleasant. A very romantic setting for a restaurant and the ambiance was one of the best my wife and I have been to. The only critique I have for the chef is the pace of the meal. There were many lulls in the meal. We would wait between 20 to 30 minutes between courses and with 6 courses our meal clocked in at over 3 hours.
It was a unforgettable experience and an excellent meal.
Our experience at Quiessence was outstanding. We reserved the brick oven table, which is beautifully tucked in the quiet back corner of the property, overlooking the gorgeous front lawn. When the sun went down, the staff lit the brick oven which added a nice warmth and amazing smell to our meal. The staff, Kelsey, Allison, and Alex were ultra friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. And the food was excellent. Each course was carefully planned, and the ingredients were locally grown, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Come hungry because you will be eating and drinking for 3+ hours. I was truly a perfect night, and one of the best meals I've had in Phoenix (or anywhere).
Overall the experience was good. Was disappointed with the size of the main course. I've attended meal tastings before and the main course was more plentiful. For the price I expected a bit more food. Guess I should have done more research,
Phenomenal experience, excellent food and amazing service. The space is not overcrowded and the view is fantastic. The best doing experience I've had in a very long time. Will absolutely be back in the future.
Just make a reservation and go. But do so only when you can invest 3 - 4 hours to savor a dinner well prepared and presented, a staff that is attentive, and a wine list that is terrific (good selection of Old World and New of nice quality and price point). Take seriously their admonition "Our dining experience is meant to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace as each dish is crafted to order".
Our group included 7 people, seated outdoors (awesome) at 8:00 pm. Six courses later it was approaching 11:30 pm, and we savored every minute. Reluctantly we left, with our bellies full and faces smiling.
Other than to say all 7 of us thoroughly enjoyed all the experience, there is little utility quantitatively describing the dishes since the menu changes daily. Qualitatively, the unique combination of flavors and the presentation were terrific; exactly the creative expression that is not found most everywhere else.
The food, service, wine list and ambiance were second to none. We did the chef's tasting menu and selected a 5 course dinner with wine pairing. Everything was incredible. The wine pairing samples could have been a little deeper, some were a scant 1 finger which didn't survive the course; albeit the wines were excellent choices.
It was a magical evening dining outdoors with white lights strung up in the trees enjoying the most amazing meal. We chose the chef selected 6 course meal with wine pairing. Each course was beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. It was not inexpensive but one of my most memorable meals in a long time.
overated. some food interesting most not. too much emphasis on cute and special, not enough on just plain good food. steak at $45 was not nearly as good as i c ould cook at home. steak and soup incredibly over-salted
Lovely place for a special dinner. Food was excellent. Service was a little slow but was done with a smile. Will definitely be going back.
The overall experience was terrific. The patio tables are set apart from one another to facilitate quiet conversation and a romantic ambiance. The service was spot on, nothing close to rushing yet and not too slow. The presentation of the various courses (6) was outstanding, almost too gorgeous to eat. The combination of flavors was wonderful. The preparation and taste of each course superb.
This is a wonderful venue for vitually any occasion, but especially suited for any romantically inclined celebration.
The location is so beautiful and the food amazing.
What a great experience we had. This place is now on our go to special occasion restaurant. Thank you to all of the staff for helping pull off a great surprise with our family.
My only complaint is we ordered the 6 course tasters menu for a party of 5. Though the food was very good, the time between servings was excessive and took over 3 hours to finish. By the last course everyone was was tired and anxious to leave. Really should time it over 2 -2.5 hours if possible.
The ambiance is wonderful but we were all disappointed in the entres and the amount of food you were given if not doing a tasting menu.
Mixed feelings. Some dishes were very good, others undercooked and not tasty at all. Mushroom soup was nice. Farfalle : al dente is one thing but these were simply undercooked.
Chicken was nice but veggies could have been braised/boilef two minutes more. Very nice dessert.
Phenomenal place. Jason was our server. Killed it. Support staff was unbelievable as well. Very knowledgeable and professional. If you do the weekend tastings, be prepared to be there for 20-30 min per course.
This place was everything you would want in a restaurant. The food was not only plated spectacularly, it tasted the same. We couldn't have been happier at choosing such a gourmet destination. Kudos to the chef and Kelsy, our server who explained all courses to us. The wine paring also suited all courses and we enjoyed be able to taste wines that we wouldn't have picked ourselves.
Dining at Quiessence is always a lovely experience. The only disappointment was that it was raining (in Phoenix of all places) and we couldn't dine outside which is so lovely. We had our choice of 2 entres, salmon or cornish game hen. My daughter took one, I took the other and we shared. both were excellent as was the rest of the meal.
We had an 8:15 reservation. We did not get our first course until 9:30. Table service was so slow! Food was nothing to write home about and three people In our party got sick after dinner. We did not finish dinner until 11:30. It was very expensive and we all joked about being hungry afterwards and going to McDonald’s.
Driving in at night with the lighting sets the mood for the evening. The service was amazing from the moment you say hello. We dined outside and the weather was great. We enjoyed everything about the experience; the food, service, and attention to detail. I'm looking forward to my next visit!
Took a flyer on this location due to strong OT member reviews, but was a bit pricier than I normally fancy. Was definitely worth it. Not a lot of choices, but the items we selected were EXCELLENT! Would definitely go back for an important dinner (or lunch).
Always excellent every time we go - expert cuisine, service, and wine. We will, of course, be back!
Thoughtful menu, attentive service, responsive to a dietary request. We really couldn't have asked for a nicer evening. For a special occasion, when you have time to linger over each bite, this is hard to beat.
The food, service, and atmosphere were absolutely second to none. I would say that the price felt about 15-20% higher than it needed to be, which is a real detractor since I feel that would make this experience and idea far more open and inviting to a larger variety of people.
True Farm to table! Loved everything about this place.
A wonderful meal!
A beautiful experience, the food, service and scene was exceptional. We will be back the next time we are in Phoenix.
My husband and I were very pleased with our dinner at Quiessence. Our timing was not the best, as we reserved for outdoor service and a rainstorm moved in. We called ahead and requested to be switched to an indoor table, which Quiessence was able to accommodate without problem. It was noted on the website that their dinners will be served at a 'leisurely pace,' which was true, given that we were there for 3 hours. I'd highly recommend the local meat and cheese plate; the accoutrements were so inventive and delicious! The service of the pistachio soup was beautiful; a plate spotted with thoughtful goodies, the pour over of soup and the final melding together of flavors. The soup might have been our favorite dish of the night except the apple mascarpone cannoli stole the show. It's a must have!
Always a great dining experience. Food is amazing and the service is great. The best restaurant in the Phoenix metro area, hands down.
We enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu with wine paring. Each course was beautifully presented and delicious. The wines went with the food beautifully. I would definitely return for another meal and recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates creative food.
Excellent!!! We celebrated our 30th year anniversary and it was perfect!!!! Food and ambience, perfect!!!!
We went for a special dinner with friends and the quiet armosphere was perfect. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and is in a romantic setting. We tried a six course tasting and loved everything we had. We had the sommelier choose a wine for us and it was perfect. The staff was friendly, fun and knowledgeable. Not an inexpensive place to dine, but our experience was fantastic.
Highly recommend. Unique dining experience. Exquisitely chosen and prepared food. The chef's board appetizer is amazing. The aged strip, outstanding. Intelligent, professional waiter.
Just incredible. Honestly the service, food, and ambience are indescribable. We had the brick oven table and the chef’s four course dinner. Every course tasted better than I could have imagined, every drink was so tasty and smooth it almost brings tears to my eye to reminisce about them.
Very romantic setting, great service and outstanding food.
The great service started before we arrived, as they called and made sure that they could accomodate our food restrictions. During the dinner, they were very polite and attentive, never leaving us wanting for anything. I am a foodie and the cuisine did not disappoint! The presentation and the quality of the food was amazing.
This was a wonderful birthday experience. My birthday falls just after Valentine's Day, so they were still serving the 4 course fixed Valentine's menu which was perfect for us, but some other diners seemed surprised by this.
We started with a couple delicious and unique cocktails at the bar before moving on to our table. We were seated by a window on the "porch", which alowed a great view without actually being outside. It was however still a bit chilly I would have appreciated a space heater or something.
The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient without being overbearing.
Dinner was fabulous. From the pistachio soup, gnocchi, and salad to the perfectly cooked duck breast to the breads, and delicious bread pudding dessert, we enjoyed every bite. They did offer a wine pairing option, but we chose to get a bottle from their excellent wine list which had a great variety of varietals and price points.
There were only a few very picky things that could have made it better. First, on Open table we were only able to get a reservation at 5:45 which was a bit early for us. We were there until after 8 and the place was never even close to being full, so not sure why we couldn't have come later. Second, while the duck was cooked perfectly and delicious, it was a bit on the cool side. Not sure if this was intentional or not but my husband and I both agreed it could have been a tad warmer. Lastly we were fortunate to catch that 20% gratuity had automatically been added to the check. We didn't see anywhere on the menu that this would happen and the server didn't mention it either. Now, we would have tipped at least this anyway, but we nearly tipped double that before we noticed the addition. This place is pricy, so that would have been an expensive mistake!
Other than these small things, it was a magical experience, and we look forward to going again for a special occasion.
Absolutely beautiful from start to finish. Quiessence was a meal and an experience we will always remember.
