We thought that the food and service were very good, however we felt that the wine pairing was over priced for the amount and quality of the wine we recieved.

Disappointed. Two hours in, we were only getting our third course of a 6 course meal. Then they told us at almost 10pm that the dessert we ordered at 7:30 was no longer available. After we told them we didn’t want the other options, the manager told us the dessert was available...

The food was spectacular, but the restaurant was too slow and we did not appreciate the dessert fiasco. They offered us a gift card after we had paid our full bill, but that did nothing for us since we are from out of town. The waiter was nice, but I am not sure what was going on with the rest of the meal dynamics.

An amazing meal that will linger on the taste buds for a long time to come. You can't get more romantic than this secluded little restaurant. Just be prepared to make a night out of it. Our five course meal took three hours. The couple next to us couldn't handle it and bailed after only getting through two courses in two hours.

Food was excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff but oh the wait. Serious kitchen issues. 5 course tasting should not take 3+ hours. We watched same exact course coming out to other tables while we watched patiently. Need to seriously upgrade seats if you expect us to sit so long.

Amazing food with beautiful presentation. We did the six course tasting and it was tremendous quality of food. The waiter was kind and enthusiastic. The only issue was that the speed of the kitchen was glacial. It took 3.5 hours for our meal and frankly it was even slow to get us our pre-dinner drink (20+minutes). Beautiful place and if they can get the service to match the food, it would be truly fantastic.

The entire staff is exceptional, went out of their way to add their beef carpachio to our 6 course meal instead if a less desirable option. They make you feel like you are the only table there every time.

The food is just awesome. I would love for them to get Michelin rated. I have been here 3-4 times of the last 2 years and I have been impressed each time. Beautiful atmosphere and fantastic cocktails and food choices. If you like farm to table food prepared by a master chef this is the place for you.

We hadn't been back to Quiessence in far too long. We had a fabulous, slow meal, with great service, under the stars on the lawn, for a special occasion. Outstanding drinks and delicious food. Most of the yumminess is sourced locally, many vegetables and herbs from the property. This truely is a PHX gem and we highly recommend it.

Wonderful food, service was also great! It really is a beautiful restaurant- the setting is spectacular.

We had a table of nine - range from 6-92. Two practicing vegans and two who also ate vegan. And two children under the age of 11. Everyone was happy with food. Eating outside would have been great but, but also great that we had nice sized room to ourselves.

Minor complaints - place is really not handicapped accessible. If you have trouble ambulating - you're gonna have trouble. I got the bread pudding it was good, but the sorbet was terrific - shoulda ordered that.

The pistachio soup was great and so was the duck. Everything else was very good.

Get the sorbet.

Wonderful!!!! Such an enchanting evening. The grounds are so pleasant; the ambience superb and the food so wonderfully prepared. The halibut tortellini was a marvelous combination of flavors. The steak was quite unusual but lovely and their bread pudding to die for. The staff was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go again.

Celebrating an anniversary, staff made it very special from the very beginning. We did the 5 course chef’s choice with wine pairings. Excellent! Jus the right amount of food. All courses wonderfully prepared and explained. Felt like a guest judge for Top Chef! Sat outside under the lighted trees and moonlight. Nice music in the background, tables spaced with plenty of room. Staff was attentive but not overdone.

Food was fair. Had the 7 course pairing and was underwhelmed at best. Four people and 2 bottles of wine with tip $1,000.00 should have gone to Kai Restaurant and had a incredible experience and is a 5 star restaurant and would not be $1,000.00 and if it was it would be worth the price. If the food was a WOW and not table spoon size then maybe it would have been worth the price. Nothing special and would not recommend again. This was the third time eating at the restaurant ... 3rd time was not a charm.... Done and over.

Never again.

First, the views when walking up to the restaurant are gorgeous. Definitely lots of spots for great photos.

We did the five course Chef's Tasting and added on the Foi Gras Torchon and Chef's Spread.

The Chef's Spread is amazing with meats cured by the Chef, local cheeses and house made spreads and pickled veggies.

First course was the Pistachio Soup with Pork Belly. There was a spicy addition to the soup which brought Southwest heat to the dish.

Second course was the Beef Carpaccio. The bread spoons are unique and the blue cheese aioli bring a creaminess to the buttery meat.

Third course was a Halibut Tortilini. The almonds and poached tomatoes went so well with the seafood pasta.

For the entree I had the Halibut. The sear created a buttery and crispy texture which was delicious.

For dessert we had the Opera Cake with Liquid Nitrogen Prickly Pear Ice Cream. The chocolate with the fruit was amazing. I also loved the candied citrus.

I highly recommend trying the garden cocktails. I ordered the Manhattan and had the option to have the glass smoked.

My husband and I had the most amazing night of farm fine dining at Quiessence. From atmosphere to service to food, everything was perfect. They went out of their way to replace a few things on the tasting menu because of my dietary restrictions while my husband got all the regular tasting dishes. And for a tasting menu, the plates were not small, but everything was so delicious, nothing was left behind. A wonderful anniversary that felt far away from the city, though very accessible. I've already recommended this place to friends in Phoenix AND from out of town.

We REALLY wanted to love Quiessence but unfortunately it was just okay. Outdoor seating area is way too dark, literally you are sitting in the dark with one weak votive candle on your table, service is average and very slow, not in a paced out kind of way, but in a way that is almost insulting. Order a drink if you can get someone to ask because it will be a very long time before you get it. Our server was not friendly at all, when telling us about the property it was almost as if she was put out with having to say her speech over and over. The food, wow so underwhelming and it was so dark you really could not see what you were eating. We were a party of 4 and one person really liked their dish ( halibut).

Sad to say, we will not be going back and with all the many great places to eat in the valley would not recommend it to anyone.

It is in a beautiful farm setting. The menu is somewhat small but very interesting. Quiessence has been a key player in the farm to table movement in America, and has a 4.8 out 5 stars Zagat rating. We did the prix fixe menu with wine pairings and were not disappointed. The pistachio soup and need carpaggio were mind blowing! The service was phenomenal, and while it was very pricey the experience was well worth it.

Reservation was for a special birthday for my husband. It was very romantic, food was wonderful and the service could not be beat. Never was rushed and so we truly enjoyed ourselves in the quite front patio. It was such a nice change to eat and talk and be treated like we were very special people - being well taken care of and catered to. We look forward to going back again.

Four of us went to celebrate a birthday, heard great things about The Farm and this restaurant...not so much. The ONLY way you can make a reservation is by giving them a credit card, they then proceed to call three times to confirm. Had a great little table inside, where we were looking out at the outside dining area, literally took 15 minutes of us sitting there before the server came over. After she did her spiel on the history of The Farm asked about drinks, 1 soda, 1 martini and 1 watermelon something 25 minutes later they appeared. Leisurely dining I understand, but 25 minutes, when the place was empty. Yes Saturday night a total of 20 diners only (I counted!) Our server had the worst breath, you couldn't even talk to her without getting soured! We ordered the Chef's board for 2 and truly it was fabulous, the bread basket was great as well. Pistachio soup was also ordered and was very good. With regards to entrees, 2 strip steaks, 1 gnocchi, 1 fettucine, lost track of the time we sat there waiting for our entrees, however the manager at one point came over to say our entrees were being plated. Our server, yes the one with the horrible breath, never came back to say anything about where our entrees where. Please note, we never said anything sat there and counted the number of diners! Finally, they arrived and 3 our of four were ice cold, not hot, not room temperature. Waited to spot the server, but again no where to be found, spoke with the manager to explain, and asked for the check. Server(wish she would have given us her name) finally showed up to ask how everything is, told her all was cold, NO APOLOGY, she just walked away. Finally, we received our bill with 3 entrees removed and left. Great birthday celebration, ended up going to get a pizza.

This was probably our eighth time to Quiessence. Out of the other seven times this was the most disappointing. The food was above par, but lacked the wow factor all of our previous visits. The chef changed the tasting menu policies. For example the tasting menu was changed so each guest received the same thing. This was disappointing to us as going for the tasting menu and being able to have different items each course was something we looked forward to. We asked for no carpaccio but instead got carpaccio. The wait time between courses became a bit longer than was expected and that we experienced before. I hope they can get back to what we have experienced in the past.

This is a beautiful property, however I thought that sitting on the patio was not quite as good as I imagined it would be. Next time I know to request the front patio instead of the back patio. It would've been just a very lovely evening if it were not for two things. One issue is there were two different groups that brought toddlers with them and they cried. When you go out and spend this much money on a meal you shouldn't have to hear that. They should've hired a babysitter like everybody else. The other thing is we were surprised at how the dress code is ignored. We thought it was pretty strict. However there were men in shorts and flip-flops coming in.

The occasion was my wife's birthday. We had 6 plus a 22 month old. It was really relaxing and beautiful historic place to eat. The house was old farm house from 1929. The food was grown locally, meats were Arizona Organic meats, the wine list was nice. The price was high and the pace was really slow/leisurely. The baby was a little antsy. The courses were meant to be enjoyed slowly. The tasting would of taken 2-3 hours which I would do the next time but with the baby we were trying to be a little quicker. It wasn't fast. The service was excellent. The food was amazing and eclectic dishes grown on property. It was really nice but expensive for the group.

We came here for our 10th wedding anniversary, we both had the chef's sampler menu and it was excellent. The servers were able to accommodate our different dietary needs (my wife is vegetarian, I am not) with no fuss at all. The ambiance was very quiet with plenty of space between tables, we ate outside and the eating area was comfortable, well-lit and insect-free. Pricey, but you certainly get what you pay for.

Expectations were high based on interesting menu and numerous positive reviews. Overall a very good experience with some minor personal preferences that resulted in 4 versus 5 stars. Setting is rustic with refinement once you enter the restaurant. The dusty crushed gravel parking and walk prior to the restaurant pathway gave notice that this is not a resort setting, but a partial working farm and venue that is well maintained but not manicured. Arrived in the light of day when some of the rough edges show that are not evident if you arrive later in the evening when lighting changes the ambience for the better. Shared several appetizers. The Flagstaff mushroom soup was the highlight with poached halibut substituted for manila clams. Flavorful base with delicious bites of halibut, potato, leeks and celery root chips. Squash blossoms with masa tempura were fine but the dominant flavor became the corn masa with nothing sharp enough to offset the corn tortilla flavor. Grilled octopus with bean salad was straight forward with a bit more chew than anticipated and was hoping for more of a surprise accent than a sriracha based drizzle. Each appetizer was well presented and prepared but only the soup provided that wow factor and anticipation of can this type of cuisine continue. As far as entrees, the halibut was wonderful and worth the drive. Dessert was the pistachio torte and a light way to end the evening. Wine list has ample variety with many interesting options. Service was welcoming and exceptional as noted in many reviews. With a seasonal menu that changes often, return visits will be based on menu entree offerings.

My Boyfriend had the fettuccine. And I can say I’ve never had such a a delicious one before. I had the halibut. Perfectly cooked! And simply delicious. The vegetable salad was not only delightful, but a beautiful work of art. For dessert, we had the bread pudding . A phenomenal end to fantastic dinner experience
