Welcome to the Queens Head

We are dog friendly & ask that anyone booking a table to please advise us if they are bringing any dogs with them.

Since the early 17th Century The Queens Head Inn has been welcoming weary travellers & visitors to the village of Hawkshead. Some things don't change, whether you want to drink, dine or unwind, you will we are the perfect base to explore the beautiful South Lakes of Cumbria and beyond.

Our celebrated restaurant, awarded an AA Four Star for culinary excellence, has a menu to suit all tastes. Each dish is devised and perfected by our head chef & is designed to utilise local ingredients from local suppliers. Whether it’s a light lunch or an evening meal, we offer a warm welcome & good food to those in search of a relaxed and traditionally English environment.
We have thirteen comfortable guest rooms all with en-suite & all individually styled and furnished.

4 of us visited on Sunday and had the Sunday roast of Beef and Lamb it was delish and plenty of it! Staff couldn't do enough would certainly recommend.

Lovely pub in Hawjshead. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food excellent. Recommend smoked salmon to start and shoulder of lamb for main. Superb.

I always go to the Queens Head for dinner the food is always excellent and the atmosphere is always good. I went for a birthday meal and it was fantastic
