Queenie's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We have had lunch there before and were not disappointed with the pasta and meat loaf. Returned for dinner which was excellent. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the presentation of our salads was very nice. Very attentive waiter. We did not care for the side of fried cauliflower, but the Brussels sprouts were the best I’ve ever had. The waiter took those off our bill, which we did not expect him to do. Would recommend this to all. Sandra R
Our compliments to the chef(s)! Our meal was EXCELLENT! I ordered the Elk Sliders with blueberry jam for an all table appetizer and everyone loved them! The Tomato basil soup is the best I have ever had anywhere bar none! And on we went through the main course and dessert, both excellent until we were blissfully full! Our only complaint that keeps us from awarding a 5 was that the meal from start to finish took well over three hours. Our waiter was very personable and knowledgeable and we don't know if it was him or the kitchen keeping it on the slow side, but it was a little too long for our group. That aside, if you are looking for a unique, high-end menu, a delicious, special occasion type meal and you are not in a hurry to get to a show or other event, then this is your place!
We did not have a good experience; my husband had to send his steak back twice because Queenies Medium Rare is still "mooing"...served cold purple center...It was a bit over priced overall. And only a free dessert for sending back a $35 filet...we expected a little bit more.
This is our second time here as we have come before a few years ago. The food is normally spectacular so expectations were high. As soon as we were seated a group of about 8-10 women came and sat at the table to the left of us--they were ready to party and had no sense of how obnoxiously loud they were. I get that everyone needs a "girls night" but honestly Queenie's is a small/intimate place where that is not appropriate--no fault of the restaurant obviously but it was VERY distracting. 20 minutes later they sat a quiet couple to the right of us. Both the large, noisy group to the left and the couple to the right got served their food before us. We arrived at 7:20 and weren't served our food until 8:45. The waiter apologized briefly and blamed my request of the "well-done" steak as to why it took so long. Once we got our food my steak was not even warm. It was room temperature. Besides that everything else was good we just left feeling discouraged and disappointed. Won't be returning anytime soon.
We came to celebrate my fiancee's new job. Your staff made the night one to remember. We appreciate all of the help walking through the menu and stellar wine list. The rabbit was amazing, as was the olive oil poached shrimp. I will definitely be recommending to my friends.
Went on a date Thursday night and so it was not very busy. The staff were friendly and courteous. The appetizer (olive oiled shrimp) was excellent with tasty cocktails (queenies crown and a Hemingway). The steaks were incredible (beef tenderloin and New York prime) with grilled asparagus and roasted mushrooms. We will be coming again and recommend it for a good date night though it is a bit pricey.
Amazing atmosphere and lovely decor and lovely staff who go out of their way to make you comfortable and they all have a knowledge of the foods on the menu! Wine list has so many choices and a knowledgeable wine connoisseur to go over the wines with you. It would be lovely for an Anniversary and Birthday! And for catching up with dear friends was wonderful. Thank you so much for making our evening memorable and special.
Was looking foward to trying this restarant. Should have suspected something when we walked in at 730 on a Friday and it only had 6 tables in the dining area.
Food quality was bland and poorly ppresented. Steaks were under seasoned. Service was mediocore at best.
There are a lot better steakhouses to choose from. My recommendation is to save your money and spend it elsewhere.
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and were looking for a very nice restaurant in Denton. We had not been to Queenies but it was a recommended as upscale and I decided to give it a try. We both ordered dinosaur kale salad and for our entrees she had salmon and I had tenderloin with shared charred brussel sprouts. Our waitress helped our celebration with a shooting table sparkler and complimentary glasses of champagne. At our waitress' suggestion we decided to indulge with donut holes and 3 types of toppings for dessert.
The entire meal was excellent and the service was great. Our experience was a pleasure and a perfect anniversary dinner.
Elegant yet rustic. Very comfortable atmosphere. The service was incredible, only to be surpassed by the food. The crispy salmon was indeed crispy, but moist & flaky on the inside. It was a wonderful choice for my wife. I had a 16oz buffalo ribeye, medium rare. It came out beautifully charred with a nice warm red center. It melted in my mouth. That being said, I don't think I could have picked a better place for my wife & I to spend our date night. We'll definitely be returning!
This was my third or fourth visit to Queenie's. We really enjoy coming here as the food is high quality and the atmosphere is so pleasant. On this visit I enjoyed the Cast Iron Salmon - perfectly cooked. Our waiter, Thomas was attentive and knowledgable. We are always pleased with the service level.
If you want a quality dining experience in Denton - great food, great service and lovely location -- come here.
Always wanted to try Queenies and got the opportunity for DFW restaurant week. The service was attentive and beef tenderloin was melt in your mouth wonderful. Server talked Husband into ordering the chicken, but It was nothing special and a bit hard to eat for an upscale restaurant. Ordered an extra side dish of truffle macaroni. Sounds good, but was not what you expect-really orzo and portion was very small for $12 extra. Glad we got to try it though and plan to be back for the steak!
My wife and I had dinner here before attending a play. The food was very good. We had the tenderloin and mac and cheese. Best tenderloin we have had in a while. Service was good and so was the atmosphere. Our reservation was for 6:00 and we got there right before the got really busy. We were seated on time, and service was quick so that we were not rushed to get to the theater.
After thoroughly enjoying Lonesome Dove on more than one occasion we had high hopes for Queenie's. Unfortunately, it was very underwhelming. Service was just okay, should definitely have been more attentive on a night that did not seem busy at all. The "family style" portions the waitress suggested for sharing were definitely not of sharing size. The steak was ordered medium and came out closer to the well done end, but the server didn't stick around long enough to see that, so we had to wait and flag her down. She quickly got a replacement which should have probably rested a little longer as it was very rare, we made it work so we didn't have to wait any longer. I will say the salmon was perfectly cooked and had a great taste and the truffle mac&cheese was delicious. I guess we just expected more from the Tim Love name. We were definitely hoping for the same quality as Lonesome Dove without having to drive to Fort Worth, but Queenie's sadly missed the mark. We didn't even stick around for dessert and after dinner drinks. Instead we headed over a block to grab dessert and drinks somewhere else.
Food was good even though the oysters were off the menu. The shrimp poached in oil would have benefited from larger shrimp and a larger portion. The hanger steak was good though small, only half apparently, nice sauce a little heavy on the Worcestershire. The waitress told us the salmon was Atlantic meaning it was farm raised but she thought it was wild. The asparagus was thick and the tough ends were not snapped off. The bussell sprouts were good but coring would have improved them. The Blueberry dessert was very dry and they comped it.
The liquor and wine were overpriced. No Monkey Shoulder Scotch either. The after dinner list of drinks was miniscule.
Service in the bar was slow and the waitress was OK but not outstanding.
All in all it was OK but not worth the $350.00 for two.
Probably won't go back.
